The room was charming! The bed very comfy and everything was clean.

A charming hotel with a good restaurant surrounded by antique shops and galleries in Stow of the Wold.
Unfortunately our room at the courtyard was uncomfortably small.
4.7
really nice relaxed and atmospheric
a green safety light in the room made it very bright at night when you were trying to sleep

Good location.
Rooms too small. Noisy at night. Outside light shining through shutters to disturb sleep.
Not good value for money and breakfast not included

very comfortable with just the right amount of facilities. Food was excellent and staff were friendly and attentive. Stow is a good location to explore the Cotswolds.
It was very hot weather during our stay and the upstairs bedroom was extremely hot. The funfair that arrived outside at the end of our stay was pretty unpleasant - I understand that this is out of your control - but I would have been unhappy if this had been in place for the whole of the holiday.

Central location. Lovely small hotel. Excellent food in the restaurant and good breakfast. All well presented. Very helpful and friendly staff. good size garden room and comfy beds. Would stay again.

Stow is a terrific choice for a central place to stay in the Cotswolds. There are 9 roads leading out of Stow in all directions and it provides a lot of options that are not far for travel to see different towns and villages. The town itself also has a lot to offer in terms of restaurants and shops.
Staff: The staff was friendly, helpful and professional. Our check-in was easy and any time we had a question, the staff was terrific!
Room: The room, #21, was large, quiet and comfortable. The only downside to it was that it is at the top of the house (the attic) and had "wonky" stairs (very, very crooked and uneven) to get up to it. It did not bother us but those who might be less spry should not stay in this particular room.
Parking: We drove and the parking was right behind the hotel. We also were able to park in the central square right in front of the hotel without issue.
Location: Location in town could not have been better in the central square. Stow is quaint, with wonderful small shops to browse. It was one of our favorite places in the Cotswolds!
Catholic Church: this was important to us for mass on Sunday. It is a short walk from the hotel. The church is Our Lady and St. Kenelm; it's a small church that is accessed by walking through two alleyways between the main roads. (The alleys were interesting in themselves!) The mass was truly wonderful with a welcoming, enthusiastic congregation and a well-spoken priest!
Dining: I think the biggest surprise to us was how excellent the food was for breakfast and dinner. It was fantastic, especially dinner, and the service was terrific. The decor is simple and quirky so I guess we didn't expect the superb dining experience that we enjoyed. Our compliments to the chef(s)! Have the onion gruyere tart and steak, or squid or salmon - all amazing!

The breakfast was amazing! The location was gorgeous and perfect for the wedding venue we went to.
The room smelt really horrible and I requested a soft pillow but they only provided really hard ones that were hard to sleep on.

Light, airy, fresh and stylish rooms. Excellent food and incredible service … all in a location that cannot be beat.

from the lovely warm welcome from everyone, to the outstanding food, we loved every second and can’t wait to go back.
if I had to be super pedantic, I’d say the pillows were rather uncomfortable, however that was all!

Staff all lovely, room very comfortable with nice touches such as a fridge with fresh milk and cold water. Great shower. Bar area very welcoming with a log burner and restaurant was lovely.

Quirky, very clean & right in centre of Stow-on-the-Wold. Evening meal and breakfast were excellent.
No shower cubicle and parking limited.

The Old Stocks Inn didn't disappoint. After reading many complementary reviews it sounded like the perfect destination for a last minute birthday treat. We were greeted and directed straight to our room having checked in ahead online. The low beams sloping stairs and Cotswold stone features led us to our room. As we opened the door we were delighted by the warm and cosy room, which welcomed us with a serenade of quiet classical music playing in the background. The bathroom facilities were immaculate with the added treat of a deep roll top bath.
We dined in the restaurant and had beautiful food and excellent service. Retiring to bed the bed was super cosy with the option to choose your pillow preference making our sleep experience perfect.
In the morning we had a lovely sunny window table for breakfast with a view of market square and the church. Again the breakfast and service was excellent.
All in a perfect little get away that will be our Cotswold favourite. We would certainly recommend.

The Room was amazing and couldn't ask for a better place for the price. Dinner was exceptional and breakfast had a wide choice which again was above what I expected, the staff were very helpful and attentive.

Lovely comfortable room, facilities very good. Breakfast and service very good. Had an evening meal too, which was very good. Staff both bar and restaurant were friendly. Would stay again.
Nothing to complain about with regard to The Stocks Inn and staff.

modern and tasteful
small rooms for the price

the bedroom was excellent
no working fireplace downstairs. it did not seem cosy and was a little cold

We loved our 'Amazing great' room which overlooked the main square. We also had dinner in the restaurant which was exceptional and enjoyed some lovely cocktails in the bar area too. Every member of staff we encountered was absolutely lovely, and it was a nice touch that they allowed you free beverages in the mini bar. Fantastic hot shower too.
Honestly nothing, it was a wonderful stay. The only very small thing is that the bed in our room was two single beds joined together and it means you do get that annoying dip in the middle. I appreciate it allows more flexibility for those that want to use the room as a twin, so it really wasn't the end of the world. Also there was a bit of noise above us, but it's a really old building so you expect the creaks and noises - part of the charm!

The room was well equipped and comfortable. The breakfast was very good with an excellent selection. We dined there in the evening and there were no complaints, in fact would recommend. Staff were always friendly and very helpful.
The only annoyance was the repeated emails asking us to confirm our reservation, even after we had checked in. One every day.

Excellent value for money. The chef at the Old Stock Inn is simply brilliant. We ate there every evening and were not disappointed once with the food or the service.
Cleanliness was superb throughout, which for me is a bonus. I would highly recommend staying at the Old Stock Inn.

The staff were fantastic, nothing was a problem for them. Our room was really nice, little touches that made it a special few days away. Great breakfast in the patio courtyard.

Lovely and competent staff. Made us feel very welcome. Rooms felt recently decorated, modern, clean and with lots of amenities. We had dinner there also which was really good.
Little to fault. Loud group of people, think staying in next door room, who were outside talking till 1am Sunday morning. It is a weekend so can't really be helped.
