Pedro's care and helpfulness. His suggestions were really appreciated! Attention to details, homemade breakfast with local products.

I had a very nice stay at Casa da Cidade. The rooms are cozy, the breakfast is all local products and Pedro and Maria are great experts for all sorts of recommendations around the island. I would return anytime.
It was a fantastic stay, I cannot think of anything I didn’t like.

Very friendly people and a lovely & cosy atmosphere. And they have such a very cute dog ♡ they were super helpful and gave us good recommendations for restaurants & tours

So you get there, fresh off the flight from Lisbon and parked (unbeknownst to you, illegally) along the narrow street. Pedro, in all his Ernest Borgniney congeniality, ushers you into the parlor. Have a euro for the meter and cast the luggage aside my friends, actual and metaphysical, and let’s get you settled. Maps and an amiable dog appear, the latter a canine instantiation of Pedro - but desirous of belly rubs and your leftovers. A town full of restaurants, shops, and stories is revealed to you across the garden table. Ask about Furnas, ah but the island will be unveiled day by day and map by map - don’t get ahead of yourself . Up the gently curving stairway, skeleton keys prefer some artful jiggling. The rooms? Oh, the rooms are quite nice & clean. Views of the garden. A warming towel rack. Fickle Azorean breezes against the tall windows. Breakfast is fine too; sweet breads and such. Pumpkin jam. Local cheese. Coffee. The salient features here are the people (and dog), their relaxed competence, local wisdom, and friendliness. So, sure -- come for the central location, the breakfast, the clean, quiet and well appointed rooms. None of that is likely to disappoint. But that's not what you'll remember.

Great place to stay and learn much about the island and all places worth seeing. The owners explain all you need about the Sao Miguel island, provide maps, tips and much more. Great atmosphere (home like), cosy but comfortable room, breakfast from local products. One of the places one will remember and like to visit again.
All was perfect.

Best place I've ever stayed. Beyond the super confortable bed, sparkling clean room and delicious breakfast full of local produce, the hosts Pedro, Maria and Trincas (the dog) were absolutely amazing. You can just stay in your room, but if you have time to sit with Pedro and hear his stories it would make the whole experience of visiting the Azores much more exciting. We honestly missed them when we left and moved to another hotel in another area.
Location is also great, close to everything, but in a quiet road.
Nothing, everything was amazing.

Lovely place for a few days in Ponta Delgada and the provision of maps, landmarks, restaurants etc made it a very easy trip and we enjoyed all of the recommendations! Also lovely breakfast all locally sourced along with some home made goodies. Thanks a lot!
There was a strange smell in the stairs / hallway but it didnt carry into the bedrooms.

first time I could relate the phrase "a home far away from home" - we felt warmly welcomed, cosy and comfortable

A wonderful house, very welcoming hosts, and walking distance to many places in the city (free carpark nearby if you have a car). Trincas the labrador dog made the stay even better.. 100% recommended!

They both do so much effort to make you feel comfortable. The braekfast is made alsmost completely out of local specialities and self-made marmalades. The rooms are extraordinary and cosy with lovely details. The bed ist the most comfortable bed I ever slept in during a holiday. Both gave us precious advices concerning the island
There is no thing we didn't like. Despite the WLAN was a bit instable at the beginning..

My advice to you: don’t even contemplate twice, when you see the rooms available. Simply grab the offer! The place is incredibly cosy and welcoming in a home-like way. Because of many objects of history of the discreet family, this makes you feel as residing at an interesting museum. Pedro and Maria are very responsive and assistant in any issues.

Excellent personal service
Small room with small bathroom and closet on a street that has continuous traffic during business hours.

The building was lovely and it's location, just 2-3 minutes from the city centre was perfect. The owners, Pedro and Maria couldn't be more helpful in planning our trips around the Island. We never even opened our travel guidebook!

Close to city center (restaurants) but had public parking nearby. Sr. Pedro, the host, was phenomenal. Gave us lots of practical info. All the products for breakfast are regional and tasty. Bed was comfortable and, though property is on a busy street, the windows are new and have great sound insolation. Window shutters make room pitch black for sleeping, if you like that, like we do.
It’s probably not common for properties on the island to have air conditioning. But it was warm at night for us, when we went in September, so AC would have been great. There is a fan though.

The hosts were delightful. The place was more of a bed and breakfast set up. They opened their home to us and made us feel like family. The bed was great, and the bathroom had a bidet. The breakfast was excellent. From the hotel it was a matter of a few minutes to the harbor.
There was no air-conditioning. Fortunately, the night air was cool. Otherwise we really had no complaints.

Internal style of property was very nice and breakfast was lovely. Fresh fruits, yoghursts, cheese, ham and breads and local jams. Pedro was very helpful with maps and information about the area.
The owners had a dog which was not stated in the details. We would not have stayed there if we had known. Also the room was at the front of the property literally right by the road which was cobbled and very noisy with cars at night and early morning. The windows (floor to ceiling) had to be open to cool the room as there was no air conditioning.

Nice and authentic place very close to the town center, with comfortable rooms and a nice courtyard to relax or have breakfast with Trincas, the lovely dog of the owner Pedro. He's a kind a helpful person, always ready to provide you all the information about the island and the best restaurants. Recommended!

Everything was honestly wonderful!

Loved the hospitality of the hosts & the location in the center of Ponta Delgada. Dog Trienkes was the extra sunshine of our day! Beautifull decorated room, very clean and love the wooden flooring.
Because of the wonderfull authentic, but old, building , the owners have done a lot to prevent noise from outside traffic. By placing extra windows . perfect! but therefore the nights be a little hot, despite the provided ventilator.

Super friendly owners and a very original building and design. Great breakfast based on local products.
Higly recomended.
We had a room facing the street and this is. Very noisy.
If you do not like big social dogs it could be less of an optimal choice.

Ideally situated in the city center within walking distance to everything. Rental cars and busses are nearby if you want to explore the island. Breakfast of locally sourced fruits, breads, and more was amazing and waiting downstairs every morning. Antonia, Pedro, and their adorable dog Trincas will make you feel welcome!

Pedro and his dog Trincas were highlights of our visit to Sao Miguel, and the breakfasts were the best we had during our 2 week Azores trip. The room was comfortable and cool, and Pedro's custom maps were so helpful as we explored the island!
