Smelled like weed. Had to buy air freshener and fabreeze for the couch. Photos misleading. Tiny bathrooms. Had to sit with your knees to the vanity when using the restroom. Beds uncomfortable. Host reminded me that the building was no smoking but clearly the rules were not followed.

Great location to explore Center City and walking distance to downtown Manayunk.
It's old cozy house. The neighbors and street were quiet. It will serve those well who need accommodations that afford them easy access to the local sites and restaurants for a reasonable rate. The old stairs are from a different era that lead to the bedrooms and bath. It takes a little practice, but you will get than hang of it after a couple of treks. If you want to use this place as base camp to go exploring this will be a viable option for the price point.

Fantastic home!
Our stay was fantastic! Rob was very attentive and communicative. The property was exactly as described and we had a wonderful stay. It was filled with everything you would need to cook in the kitchen and stay in the rooms. A quick walk to Main Street for food and anything else you need. Would definitely stay again!

an eclectic decorated historical home
My husband and I stayed 8 days in this home just up the street from downtown historical Manayunk. We loved everything about it! Reading the other reviews we were a little concerned about the spiral staircase and the parking. We both are in our 70's, no problem with the stairs. It's true the parking is on the street. Again no problem. We were always able to find a place right in front accept for one day. That was after we'd been to a Philly's game and there was a huge art fair in Manayunk. We parked a couple of blocks over...all of the parking being free.

Charming old house, not for the unstable or infirm. Cool winding staircase with sturdy rope handrail tested my balance at first but after a few ups and downs I was taking it like a champ! King bed on top floor was so comfortable. Bathroom is compact and adequate. Tub gets slippery, could use a rubber mat. I used a hand towel to stand on and it worked beautifully. Kitchen had everything I needed and I enjoyed sipping my coffee in the back yard.Great location near Main Street Manayunk but far enough away for a peaceful night’s sleep.I look forward to my next stay!

Quaint apartment in gem of a little town
Loved our weekend at this unique apartment in Manayunk just up from the Schuylkill River trail, Main street and a slew of shops and restaurants. Cozy describes this apartment well. My husband and our 6'5" son spent 2 nights but didn't have the opportunity to hang out during the day or prepare any meals so I can't speak to that aspect. Not much privacy in the sound department but we didn't care much...The beds were comfy although I did miss my own pillow and cotton bedding. The ceiling fan, ac, and sky light in the top floor master br helped keep the air circulating throughout and whatever outside noise was minimal. The bathroom is on the 2nd floor and is compact. Water pressure in the shower was awesome. The stairs were very steep getting up to the 2nd and 3rd floors but there was a rope and it wasn't an issue for us. Not a place for the infirm, however. And, being very tall, constantly ducking the door frames was essential and may have grown old for my son. The kitchen and outdoor area was nice to hang out and drink our coffee and plot the day and the guitar was a huge bonus! Thank you for leaving that Rob! The apartment was perfectly located. I would highly recommend not having a car or parking it close by for the duration and using Uber or another mode of transport while visiting. Returning late on Friday night, circling numerous times for a parking spot to no avail left us paying in a town lot on an hourly basis. Not a showstopper but good to have known before booking. Definitely need to be agile, adventurous and to appreciate the historical aspect to stay here. I look forward to returning!

Eclectic!
Great location!! Comfortable. Well stocked ( dishes, coffee, kitchen stuff, shampoo, towels, etc. ) Stairs to the second and third floors are not for the weak of heart ( or foot). We'd definitely rent again!

jamestown manayunk
This home meets all of the description posted by the owner, charm, space, character.. The stairs are a bit of challenge for older legs, but manageable. The kitchen has everything one needs for a stay. The only complaint we had was the parking, some times not available and very frustrating..
The owner was extremely easy to deal with, pleasant, helpful, handled every question we had.
Manayunk was fun with great restaurants and easy access to all parts of town. We opted for Uber and were easily served.

Okay , would be 1.5- 2 star..
Couches, carpets , blanket, beds were clean. Kitchen , utensils were handy and good enough for weekend and basic needs. Patio grill was pretty new.
Not so good: house is really small and 1 bath was major problem during the morning times for all of guests to use. Bath tub is so small and the curtains kissing all over body while taking bath.
Overall , 'okay' for bachelor guys to use for overnight sleep on a trip.

Fit the 5 of us
We rented this house to be away from Philadelphia, but close enough to go in to sight see. We had one son attending a conference in Villanova, but we wanted to sight see in Philadelphia. This location was perfect! Train was a short walk away and easy to access. The owner was extremely helpful in giving ideas on place to go see. He was quick to respond to any correspondence we had with him. The stairway is a bit steep, but it did not bother us nor our 2 thirteen year olds! I was a bit concerned with my 71 year old mother who went with us, but she handled it fine. There is a rope to hold onto if needed. We didn't spend much time there, so it was great for our family vacation.

not much to be desired
So, I'm originally from Philadelphia and very familiar with trinity homes. I expected a narrow house and narrow steps. I wasn't even surprised by the rope hanging from the third floor to help folks get up the stairs- this is not a place for people who have physical challenges. But, there were so many things that could have made the place so much more comfortable and, frankly, better. For starters, the bath mat was so filthy I had to wash it before being willing to step on it with my bare feet. There was only one washcloth and it was permanently stained-disgusting. There's a claw foot tub/shower- the owner could at least cut the shower curtain so you're not slipping on it every time you take a shower. The bathroom window sill is used for placing you shampoo etc. and it is completely warped- it doesn't take much to put some kind of shelf on there. I had to clean the bathroom. The walls in the living room needed painting. There was a gaping hole on the stove top (so you can see into the stove underneath). There were mounds of trash in the yard- the trash cans overflowed with trash. I got an email asking if I could put the trash out on trash day. Let's be clear- this is a historic house but old doesn't have to be dirty and uncomfortable. The house is located in Manyunk- a really great place with lots of shops and restaurants and bars. Location was fantastic and we had no problems with parking but did have to park around the corner a few times. The neighborhood is very quiet. You can walk down to Main Street. I think if the owner took some of my comments to heart, this could be a great place. Otherwise, I wouldn't recommend it.

Very charming in a great location
Adorable, clean and walking distance to Main Street. Rob was very attentive to any questions we had. Stairs are steep to bedrooms but my daughter thought it was fun. Would definitely come back to this place.

Architectural History
Our stay in this 1740 Trinity House, designed in concept by William Penn himself, was great. With modern amenities like free and powerful internet, flat screen TV, and air conditioning juxtaposed with rough hewn 18th century rafters, claw foot tub, and commanding circular staircase it was fun postmodern trip through history. The original floorplan has been amended with a full large kitchen bump out which leads to a pleasant little lawn--fridge, dishwasher, coffee maker and a full set of dishes and flatware save one a lot of time as does a capacious washer and dryer in the basement. Steps from the dining options on Main Street, tis is a great location at a fair price,.

Historic and convenient
This cozy home was located within a few minutes walk of downtown manyunk, close to plenty of delicious food and fun bars. Loved the back yard; it made a fun place for my kids to run around. Great stay!
