Everything was excellent.
The Hotel repeated Christmas lunch menu for dinner.

Great facilities. Cleaning was a daily occurrence, with fresh towels daily.
It did feel quite cramped as it was 4 of us in one room, but that can’t really be helped.

Loved the atmosphere in the main building by the lounge and pool area. Food was very good and the staff was very welcoming. Very family friendly
Rooms were cleaned up until very late in the afternoon (around 17:30). When you come back from a road trip and you just want to relax or change for a swim in the pool, it’s a bit annoying.

Pleasant Stay at Protea Hotel by Marriott, George
Our family's one-night stay at the Protea Hotel by Marriott in George was thoroughly enjoyable. The room met our expectations, matching the photos we had seen online, which was reassuring.
The secured parking was a highlight, complemented by very friendly and helpful security guards who made us feel safe and welcome. This added a sense of comfort to our stay.
Its proximity to popular attractions made our stay convenient, allowing us to explore the area with ease. The room's amenities, including the quality of linens and the well-maintained bathroom, were impressive and contributed significantly to our comfort.
Overall, our experience at the Protea Hotel was delightful, thanks to its excellent facilities and the warm hospitality of the staff. We look forward to staying here again and highly recommend it to others visiting George.
Bathoom amenities.

Breakfast devine. Dinner devine. Staff exceptional. Security great..Rooms comfy and cozy..
Nothing I did not like but would add two suggestions.
1. A shower door. The breeze in the shower is cold and most of the floor wet and slippery when getting out.
2. A small microwave in the room. I have a VERY picky eater and he wanted 2 minute noodles which I could not make. We ended up getting him to eat the most devine pasta at the restaurant, but for "self catering" a smallish microwave oven would be great.

Friendly staff. Good location. Nice view from the room.
Old facilities. Shower floods the whole bathroom. Little stuff like the shampoo wasn't full.

The breakfast was really good with lots of variety. The dinner was good quality with big portions. The rooms are connected which is very good for a family with kids.
The connecting room 101 was on the ground floor, but the rooms windows are so big that we could not leave them open at night for safety concerns. Then the aircons are not working properly with loud noises. Generators are very closeby that wakes us up at night when they kicked in. Lights flashes when the generators and Eskom power switches, even at night.

This accommodation was not up to 4 star and MARRIOTT standards.
The Rooms were not clean.
Room 1: Toilet had urine in from previous guest, water that came out the tap was brown. The sheets on the 1 bed had brown on-looked dirty.
Room 2: There was soap from the previous guest in the shower and hair by the bath.
Room 3: The water that came out of the taps were brown. There was grime in the shower. Paint was peeling off the walls and it was chipped. The wood on the bedside table was chipped.
The breakfast was average. The spatula used for the eggs was not cleaned after use and had Chilli on . Which means all our eggs were very hot & inedible.

The staff were very friendly, helpful and accomodating.
Room 407 doesn't have an extractor fan or window in the bathroom so it gets a bit stuffy in there when using the bathroom. Otherwise all was fine.

Nothing.

Location - it is central and we used it as a base to get to Knysna, Plett and Mossel Bay etc.
Quality of the bed.
Generator supplying power during load-shedding
Breakfast was just OK, not great. We asked for pancakes and it was absolutely horrible.
The generator was right next to our room, and while understand the need, it was a terrible hinderance.
I also requested a table and some chairs outside of our "balcony" overlooking the pool, but it never arrived.

changed room because first one was not wat I was looking for and changed booking due to family crisis and staff was very helpful
Being from Cape Town I'm used to being more security conscious and I shared a balcony with the room next door with only a small divider between the two
