About this cottage rental
Cozy as can be original settler's log cabin with a stunning west facing sunsets over a kid friendly sandy beach. Enough lawn space to spread out and play. Brand new updated bathroom, eat in kitchen all just 50 minutes from Ottawa. sleeps six comfortably. there is an extra pull out couch for additional guests if required.
This place captured our hearts because it offers the full waterside cottage experience while living in an authentic log home in a stunning grove of towering ash trees. The clean sandy beach is in a tiny little bay on Mississippi Lake. kids can wade out a good long way in complete safety as the water remains shallow. A great place to learn to swim. A nice little dock for a boat or just to bask after a swim. There is a long gentle open lawn for outdoor sports and enough parking to satisfy extra daytime visitors. The spacious second floor master bedroom looks out over the lake and enjoys a stunning sunset along with the deck, living room and main lawn as the sun sets directly across the lake and washes everything in golden light. Bbq on the deck or enjoy a marshmallow roast at the beachside fire pit.
Mississippi lake is also worth a wee search. It is renown for its wide variety of quality game fish. There is no end to the exploration on this large lake which connects to neighbouring waterways. The cottage is situated in a very quiet corner away from the main traffic on the lake so you can paddle around or drift for an afternoon in tranquility.
If you want to go for a drive one day there are lovely country roads to explore. You can head to the provincial nature preserve across the lake or take in a round of golf at the nearby courses. Beautiful historic Perth is fifteen minutes away and is a joy to walk around. The downtown is littered with historic stone buildings, great restaurants, antique and gift shops. Come for a treat at the local bakery or put a few hours in at the gym. Take in a music festival, a farmer's market or fair.
PLEASE NOTE: That WIFI is available from MAY through OCTOBER.

Great location, clean check-in, excellent cottage for a relaxing vacation. Perfect for families with water activities, beautiful sunsets, and cozy ambiance.

Nice rustic cottage stay. Place was well maintained, though some of the kitchen wares were dated just like a place would be if you had your own cottage. We really enjoyed ourselves.

Excellent cottage - vacation away from home.

Perfect for our group of 7 adults and 2 kids. We had a great time, the cottage was very comfortable, as were the beds. The bedroom on the 2nd floior is large yet cosy.
We had fabulous weather all week with just a few showers. The sunsets were fantastic. The lake is shallow for a good distance from shore - our 3 and 1/2 year old loved being in the water. Ther were a lot of water toys for both kids. We took the canoe out several times. We even saw some wildlife - beaver, loons, ducks and ducklings, eagles, and a fisher.
Campfires and meals in the gazebo made for special family times. Perth is so close by that day trips into town are almost a must! Quaint little town.7
Definitely thinking of coming back!

This was a great place to stay. Quiet and relaxing with access to a canoe to fish and enjoy the lake. We had many campfires at night and enjoyed sitting on the deck looking out onto the lake watching loons diving into the water for fish. We had a great Thanksgiving in this cozy log cabin. The town of Perth is a10mins drive and we were able to enjoy this small historic town.

We all enjoyed the quiet location with a sand beach and shallow access to lake with canoe and kayak included. The nearby Carleton Place sand beach was a good alternative. The cottage met our needs at a relatively affordable price.

We enjoyed our stay and would consider a return at some point. The only drawback was the great number of mosquitoes due to weather.
