Sijainti
Rakennukset rapistuneet, homeen haju. Aamupala surkea, puolitettuja kuorettomia nakkeja, muutama kovettunut lihapulla, vain yhdenlaista viipaloitua tarjousleipää, puuro liian paksua , tarjoiluastiat ja lautaset likaisenoloisia.

Good basic finnish breakfast. Close to Sotkamo city center
Dirty, trash on corridors and in yard. Maybe even some mold in the building. Everything is like it used to be in the 80's and not repaired anything after that.

We always love our stay in Tulikettu, it's like coming home to us. It is in it's own unique way quirky and totally retro.

The location was excellent, breakfast was great - included hot chocolate. Value for money. Only thing missing for us was the piano not being in tune.

Location, we needed a place for the night and had to make almost whatever work.
Everything is as old as it can be. You can feel the springs on the beds. They advertise a pool that after all has no water, with the excuse of a nice lake that “maybe” you can go swimming as it’s not warm yet. Saunas are only in the evenings, so if you are an early bird, no chance. Breakfast was bad, some dishes unrecognizable. No glasses on the toilet for drinking water. Price is completely outrageous for the quality of what they offer. For a comparison, for 100e more we are staying tonight in a junior suit of a hotel with a nice (working) spa.

Reasonably good breakfast. Good central location in Sotkamo next to beach, pesäpallo-stadium and all other services. Location on a hill is also quite beautiful. Good space for parking. You cannot complain about the price for two people.
Hotel seems to be past of its heyday as customers seem to prefer newer hotels in nearby sports resort Vuokatti. Surfaces are worn out. Rooms are old fashioned, least to say. Some details are amusing, for example room was equipped with rather old tube tv and adjacent empty building looked like B-class horror movie setting. Some details however need urgent attention: toilet seat of our room was patched with tape and the wc door was broken. This is a matter of preference, but I found the bed quite uncomfortable. It was difficult to get sleep on hard bed.

Breakfast was quite exclusive. The location is superb.

We have stayed here many a time, they always treat us like we were part of the family, friendly and unassuming. Location is spot on in the vicinity of the town and fabulous beach, sauna piping hot for the weary traveller. Also beautiful pine forest around the property that gives out dizzying scents and heavenly silence.
Nothing not to like.

Nice beds, warm showers, not to far from the skiing slope
Medioker breakfast
Kind of shabby facilities

There was a few things that does not funktion and the shower cabin was broken. The rrom was too cold to to the fact that the ventilation window could not be completely closen.

Great location and super price-quality ratio. I even like their old fashioned, outdated style. Awesome beach and nature for long walks and the village is close-by. Lovely couple managing the property. The greatest sport ever, Finnish baseball is played 'next door', worth visiting - see Sotkamon Jymy (the club) and Hiukan pesäpallostadion (the venue).
I didn't dislike but must say that the breakfast was more of a quantity, rather than quality, an average level. No air conditioning but this is usually not a problem.

Friendly service, nice views
Bad air in the room, bad ventilation, really worn and many things broken or badly repaired, old CRT tv.
4.5 / 5.0
Great location for dog owners, walk your pet straight outside the room in forest and on the beautiful beach. Although there was just a handful of guests, everything was perfect and friendly.
No Room cleaning during the stay. A better ventilation system would have made sense, as with 3 dogs in room it got very hot. Because of the moskitos and weather it was not even possible to open the door.

Good location, close to Vuokatti if you have your own vehicle.
