Nice hotel in the middle of Dutch countryside just outside the National Park Dwingelderveld. It offers many services (biking, swimming pool, etc.) and has a very good restaurant inside.
Rooms furniture is quite old, especially the bathroom. Room cleaning is not their biggest quality, so to say.

The breakfast was very good, nice coffee and juice, good selection on the continental breakfast.
The over all stay was very good but the room could have been a little nicer finished.

The swimming pool is great.
Hotel is a bit run down and could be better, it does however seem to be midway through rennovations so this should hopefully improve.

ROOMS WERE VERY SMALL. BREAKFAST WAS VERY POOR AND THE BATHROOMS WERE DISGUSTING. IN NEED OF REFURBISHMENT
THE BATHROOMS COULD HAVE BEEN A LOT CLEANER. EVEN THOUGH OLD PROPERTY IT COULD HAVE BEEN WAY CLEANER. FOR BREAKFAST ALL THE BREAD WAS HARD AS IT WAS NOT COVERED

the hotel building is nice, but the room and inside is old and looks extremely used. The terrace is nice.
The room, so small that you can not come out of the bed, we had to take of one door. Carpet very used and stained. Tiny old bathroom. Neighbours watched tv late and we listen to all of it, very bad isolation. The village and area are beautiful.

Lovely cheesecake. Electric charging facility parking lot. Beautiful scenery, Lhee is a beautiful little village. Friendly staff.
No towels in room. No tea or coffee facilities or even a glass in the room for water next to the bed.
Slightly outdated throughout; restaurant, toilets, community rooms, old and slightly smelly. Charming in a way, but dirty carpets in corridors, simple furniture and very little vegetarian choices in the menu. The rustic and fresh apple pie was just defrosted and not fresh tasting at all...

Breakfast was filling. Option to go swimming, sauna, and hot tub was nice. Beds are very comfortable. Extra pillows in the room. Location is pretty.
Hotel is dated, needs an upgrade badly! The walls and halls were stained and it didn't feel clean all the time. Very "thin" on amenities in the room. No coffee pot or tea option. Also, bathroom feels like it's very basic and like a dorm room shower.

It is a beautiful old building in a gorgeous rural location, with great facilities and lovely staff.
There is a very cosy and comfortable bar and restaurant, and although it’s a little pricey the food is clearly good as the restaurant was busy all the time I was there. It’s obviously a popular destination with non-residents too.
Only one thing, and it’s something older guests need to be aware of. If you have an upstairs room the stairs are very steep, and there’s no lift.

I've been to De Borken multiple times, but this was my first time in the budget room. Although the other rooms are fine, the budget ones are very poor, with not even a real wall between the bathroom and the room but rather a sliding screen. The biggest issue was that the carpet was filthy, and when the bed slightly moved we could see it has not been cleaned under it, and there was even a used plaster stuck to the floor!! Also, the window could not entirely close and there was a gap letting in cold air, so the room was quite cold. Quite disappointing overall, and the staff was not very agile, nearly missed our bus because they were very slow and distracted on check-out. If you will stay at the Borken, I recommend avoiding the budget rooms, there is cheaper accomodation with better comfort in Dwingeloo.

Good organisation so you could collect your breakfast and eat it in your room. Very good awareness of covid rules. Bike hire.
Pool closed but not the hotel's fault due to covid restrictions.
