Lovely hotel

We enjoyed our 1 night stay, we had 2 rooms for our family of 4. The 2 rooms were near each other and were a decent size. The bathroom was small but adequate. The room had plenty of storage. The buffet breakfast was excellent with a good variety of pastries, cheeses, cereal, eggs, juice and coffee. We also appreciated being allowed to store our luggage pre check-in and after check out.

Brilliant place

Outstanding place, beautiful rooms, everything clean and organized, really great place to stay. And the city is also really charming, good food and people.

The couple's bed is actually two single beds togheter. But it's not a big deal, the great mattress makes you forget about it.

great place to stay and restaurant also very good

there was a change in properties the Lowen was closed for renos and I stayed at a sister property the Romantik Hotel Santis

it was cold, they addressed it quickly but it reverted back to being cool overnight

Beautiful old world charm, and sensational setting

Old world charm, with most of the mod cons. Breakfast was great and fantastic location. Staff very helpful and friendly. Beautiful village and lots to see

No in-room coffee/tea making facility. Hotel bar on minimal hours and no inhouse restaurant

beds were comfortable, breakfast was delicious, staff was friendly and helpful. Location was amazing.

wish there was AC or a fan to keep the room cool at night.

Much better than expected for Switzerland

Location was great, it was clean enough, and breakfast was good for Swiss standards.

There was a club right under us and it was warm so we opened the window but it was too loud.

Excellent Location in the heart of Appenzell town with good breakfast.

Very good Breakfast. Check in was fast and easy. The room does have no AC, so had to keep windows open, but town was fairly quiet after 10pm. We stayed late September so wasn't too bad.

This hotel is perfectly located in the beautiful town Appenzell. I would highly recommend it!

Staff was very friendly. Location was perfect. Close to the train station, very easy to find and right in the middle of towns’ activities. Loved the facilities and breakfast was great!

The room was perfect, the parking situation a bit annoying.

Great room, modern and very clean.

No private and free parking, you have to go to a public paying area, access to the hotel is complicated (to unload luggage for example).

Super cute room and great staff

Right on Appenzell’s main pedestrian street, the Hotel Löwen is a perfect overnight spot. Especially is staying in one of the rooms decorated in the traditional local way. Breakfast room has amazing views of some of the most beautiful houses in town. And the staff were absolutely wonderful, booking tables and offering great advice. Would definitely return if in Appenzell again.
