The staff are very friendly, the breakfast is good and on time. The hotel is in a good location regarding getting to places.

I know the hotel is going though a makeover at the moment and as far as I can tell at least one room has been changed from top to bottom with everything new. I have stayed at the hotel at least 4 times over the years so I know if I get an original unchanged room it’s going to be very tired. Loo would only flush if you lifted up the lid on it so the mechanism didn’t bang on the underside. The shower head leaked out of the sides and the fixture was cracked so you had to place the shower head in it carefully. Heating on for about an hour in the morning and evening so curtains had to be placed on the window frame to keep the heat in. I bought a hot water bottle with me so I was warm. I was in room 6 and it had a lovely new door but unfortunately at this time there was no room number on or by the door so I had to ask the staff which room I was in. I didn’t bring up any of the issues here with the staff because the whole hotel is being changed to a very high standard from what I can see. As I’ve stayed there many times I know that there could be little things that are a bit worn here and there and that’s what I expect in an unchanged room.

Good Base for N.Wales, Great Staff.

Friendly, helpful, professional staff. Comfortable bed, clean room, excellent breakfast. Good location for exploring the town and North Wales generally. Good parking facilities.

Rooms are above a bar. Even on a Monday and Tuesday night, it was noisy, so weekends may be challenging to get a good night's sleep.

In my opinion this hotel needs refurbishment

Room was clean but very dated

Was woke up the 1 st morning to banging sawing and general building noise at 8.45 was not informed half the hotel is being refurbished morning of check out cleaner banging on the door at 10.01 which I thought was a bit harsh would not use again

Good breakfast. Prompt, efficient, friendly service. Fresh coffee would have been nice. Helpful staff. Cosy family hotel.

Decor is terribly dated. Room was clean, fresh basically furnished but needs a makeover!

Will be back

We arrived early (before 3pm check-in), new owners had only taken over 3 days previous but couldn't be more welcoming, we were given a coffee and given earlier access to our room at 12:30. Our room was really big and very comfortable. Breakfast was superb and the atmosphere in the bar was excellent.The new team told us of their future plans and we can't wait to get back and see what they have done.

Only mirror was a small shaving mirror in the bathroom, not great when trying to do your make-up. The internal doors opened outwardly onto the stairs which seemed quite dangerous, random bits of furniture in hallways but I'm sure this will change once the new team have had some time to address these things.

Tasty english breakfast, fruit and toast included. Soap and towels provided. Real ales in the bar.

Unfortunately, the mattress was old and the springs could be felt, making for an uncomfortable night. Bath was cracked.

Exceptional

The hotel was perfect for us. Room was very clean and comfortable and the staff were very pleasant. We enjoyed a lovely cooked breakfast before setting off for home. We will definately be back.

Don't bother, keep

Location, breakfast.

We thought we had the wrong address at first, it was rundown and scruffy out front. Staff were unhelpful, no food available in the evening yet we weren't allowed to order anything in, so not flexible on customer service. Room was cold, damp and dirty.
