Amazing location.

Beautiful building and grounds. The room was large and very comfortable. good coffee facilities and
It’s not a hotel (which wasn’t a surprise tbf), so don’t expect a bar etc. It’s more like a very plush guest house. So it’s not what we didn’t like, more what was lacking. It therefore felt pretty expensive for what is effectively a comfortable room.
4.0
A fabulous property if you want to just relax and unwind. The location is fantastic and the pristine well manicured gardens just invite you to walk around and explore the place.
No on-site restaurants so dinner reservations need to be made in the area.

Amazing well kept property

the rooms were beautifully decorated and the grounds were lovely.
No facilities, no bar, no restaurant. not even a mini bar in the room or a coffee machine. When paying the rate charged you would expect all of these facilities.
3.5
the setting was lovely but not a bit far out of town to grab a meal, etc.
The standard room was nicely decorated but so tiny!! It opened to a lovely little private courtyard which would be greatly appreciated in warmer weather. But the size of the room was disappointing, with not even space for a chair and the lack of room made it hard for two people to dress, pack, etc. Bathroom was also tiny with just enough room for one person - and nowhere to put your grooming bits and bobs. It was very expensive for a room of this size especially considering it was out of season

Breakfast was pleasant. Grounds are amazing.
No on-site restaurant. No pressure in the shower. Radio was old and no Bluetooth.

Great breakfast, lovely choices of & plenty of beautiful fresh fruit. Cooked breakfast excellent & great gluten free options including delicious pancakes. Staff were excellent & friendly. Lots of covid cleaning in the breakfast room between guests which was reassuring. Nice touch to be offered freshly baked scones as we left.
Carpet in room needs to be cleaned but overall the rest of the room was very clean. Also not much room in the bathroom an extra shelf would help.

We stayed for 3 nights in November. Can't express enough the exceptional staff, their helpfulness, kindness and superb customer service. The building was amazing, full of history and pictures telling the story of the family that built and lived here.
Breakfast was outstanding and again nothing was too much trouble. The gardens which are overlooked in the conservatory are very tranquil and well maintained which also houses the outdoor heated pool, tennis courts and BBQ area.
The rooms are well maintained and suited our needs with tea and coffee making facilities, a small fridge with complimentary water, a safe and iron. We were on the ground floor and had a court yard garden.
In the evening the fireplaces are put on in the reading rooms where you can relax with a coffee

It was a beautiful property, the staff were so welcoming and wonderful. Always so polite and helpful.
We did love our stay and I would certainly come back and stay. It was very beautiful
That not all facilities were open to use, breakfast was great, but more options would have been better. I think the price you pay, more breakfast options would be nicer.
They do have a wine cellar, it would be nice to see them offering wine tastings.
Also maybe offer a dinner option at a cost. What is available in town wasn’t a very broad range for us.
Rooms were a little small for the price.
4.5
the history location and the garden
room size was not as large as I would have expected
