About this apartment rental
The “Summit Lodge” at Sugar Mountain has everything you could possibly want in a trip to the mountains! Located just a short 7 min walk from the ski slopes of Sugar Mountain Resort (direct walk or drive up slope access from the neighborhood) & a 15-20 min. drive to Grandfather Mountain & the Blue Ridge Parkway! This 2 bedroom/2 bath condo located within The Reserve I comfortably sleeps 4 adults. Large open-concept living areas with plenty of relaxing spots, large stacked stone gas fireplace, beautiful wood look flooring, King size luxury mattress in Master Bedroom, & dining table seats 6 + 2 person eat-in kitchen barstools. Kitchen includes everything you need to make you feel right at home, spice rack, stemware, blender, and cooking supplies galore! Enjoy the private bubbling hot tub/spa on the very secluded 300+ squ ft deck overlooking some of the best views you can find in the Blue Ridge Mountains! The deck has brand new Adirondack chairs/foot rests & dining table/chairs and access from the master bedroom! Feel away from it all but still within reach to 5-10 min down the mountain to 2 grocery stores, lots of restaurants & downtown Banner Elk!
The Summit Lodge is not positioned near any other buildings to the sides, which provides ultimate privacy and ample green space outside for the kids to romp and play! You won’t feel like you’re in a condo that’s for sure..
PLEASE NOTE/IMPORTANT:
•This unit requires stairs to access the unit- 2 short flights (approximately 15 steps total).
•SURVEILLANCE CAMERA IN USE AT FRONT DOOR ONLY
Insurance/Refundable Damage Deposit Requirements: we require both a $500 refundable damage deposit & that our guests purchase a $79 insurance policy (which covers up to $3,000 of accidental damage). The reason behind this is because the total damage could easily reach over $3,000 with the hot tub and other amenities we offer, also that insurance only covers “accidental”, so the $500 refundable damage deposit would cover intentional damage and or any damage that would exceed the covered amount of the insurance policy.
**For winter stays, The Reserve roads are all paved and usually well plowed, however it is recommended (& at times required) to have a 4 wheel drive vehicle or snow chains to safely drive roads in winter weather.**
The Summit Lodge at Sugar Mountain is enjoyable all year round! In the summer time it averages about 20-25 degrees cooler than CLT/ATL/Eastern NC and approx. 10 degrees cooler than other “mountain towns” due to the high elevation (5,000+ ft)! Through Spring & Summer you have endless activities such as white water rafting, horseback riding, fly fishing, wine tasting at the nearby beautiful vineyards (i.e. Grandfather Vineyard, Linville Vineyards, Banner Elk Winery & Villa), river tubing, hiking, zip lining and much more! Fall is the perfect time to cruise the Blue Ridge Parkway to view the bright foliage, or you can enjoy the incredible view from the huge deck! The green colors in summer are also quite amazing! During the winter months you can partake in skiing, snowboarding, snow tubing & even horseback riding! Whether you want to kick back n’ relax, or have a thrill, there is something for you in the High Country!
We also have a Guest Information Guide which includes helpful details on local dining, access to lifts, outdoor activities, hiking, directions to the Blue Ridge Parkway & Grandfather Mountain.
Entertainment: Games, cards, books, magazines, Charter cable via living room TV, Chromecast for your streaming convenience in LR/MB with very fast/reliable 100 MBPS WiFi (5G & 2G)!

Great location and beautiful view from the deck. Very clean The owners were very communicative when the hot tub wasn’t working properly. They had someone come fix it as soon as they could and even offered to refund part of the trip since it didn’t work for the majority of our stay. It was a bummer not having a hot soak after a day on the slopes, but their efforts to help did not go unnoticed. Highly recommend

Lovely views! Sunset in the hot tub was spectacular! Fireplace! Full kitchen and spacious bedrooms. Walk to Sugar’s Summit lift is uphill, however, we loved the location!!! Every morning we were able to board down the slopes to get lift tickets, then ride the lift back up to the condo at the end of the day! Super easy! Also, condo is close to Food Lion and Lowe’s Foods, restaurants, shopping, and Alpine coaster. Will definitely try to book here in the future!

Highly recommend this condo! Loved everything about it…especially the amazing view from the back deck. Owner is very quick to reply and easy to communicate with. Hope to stay there again soon!

Property is exactly as described! Lots of extra blankets and cozy fireplace were nice. Access to Sugar Mountain slopes is a 5-10 minute walk, as mentioned but just fyi if you have novice skiers, it does put you at the top of the mountain with difficult slopes ahead. It is a 10-15 minute drive to the bottom of the mountain which you may prefer if you are not experienced skiers. We enjoyed our stay here and will be back!

We really enjoyed our time together. The cooking pots and pans didn’t match the otherwise excellent quality of our experience. But that is a small concern. We would stay here again!

Great trip! The condo was perfect with the hot tub a big bonus. The owner was very responsive and easy to work with. The new year's gift basket was an extra treat. We would stay here again any time.

Property is beautiful; spacious condo. Very quiet. Walking distance to the top of Sugar Mountain; many nice touches and amenities. Great mattresses and plenty of extra blankets/pillows.

I’ve lost count how many times we’ve stayed in this condo at Sugar Mountain Reserve - it’s our home away from home at this point! Great communication with the owners if ever the need!

Stunning views with great access to Sugar Mountain
Every night we would rush home from skiing to watch the amazing sunset from the deck. The views are amazing! The hot tub was a great addition. We loved the access to Sugar Mountain. This home made for a great and comfy stay!

Perfect for the slopes
We were there during a big snow storm. Our kids were able to walk back and forth to the slopes and the adults didn't have to drive down the mountain. The condo had everything we needed for our stay.

Skip trip at Sugar Mountain
We had a great time staying at the cabin for our ski trip at sugar mountain. The cabin is very clean, and feels like home. The view from the cabin is spectacular. We enjoyed our family time during the stay. The drive to the cabin and down to the ski resort was super easy!

Quick weekend away for my husband and I. We only left the condo to go out to eat. It was so cozy. Very clean, spacious, and quiet. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

Thanksgiving at 5000 ft
This property was located near the top of Sugar Mountain with amazing views. Very clean. The beds were comfy and linens cozy enough to keep you warm in cold and windy nights. Can walk to slopes at the top of the mountain.

Great View & Location
This condo is so cozy and we spent a lot of time relaxing in front of the fireplace or in the hot tub. The road leading up to the condo is not extremely steep and you are a short drive from Boone, Blowing Rock, and other nearby destinations. The view on a clear day is unbeatable and the condo is in great shape! The owners were very helpful with any questions we had and I would highly recommend renting for a getaway.

Amazing mountain sunsets!
My husband and I came here for our 14th Anniversary and we were just amazed with this property. The sunsets in the hot tub were truly fantastic and so romantic. The pictures really don’t do it justice! The master bed was super comfy and the sheets and pillows were super soft. Often times rentals have over washed stiff towels and sheets and this place was not like this at all. So impressed and definitely will be back. Thank you so much!!

Happiness
We've stayed here multiple times and it never disappoints. Master King bed very comfortable; this unit stands alone and has it's own little parking area, which is flat and has no cars coming by which we really like! Has all the comforts of home with a view that is pure heaven. We will continue to come back :)

Absolutely fabulous!
This is our second time staying in your beautiful property. We love it so much that this time we invited my very discerning mother-in-law, who couldn't find a single flaw with the home, which is saying QUITE a lot. Thank you!

Spectacular Mountain Sunsets
Summit Lodge was a joy! Everything we needed for our stay was provided, including great communication with the hosts. We had one minor issue at the beginning of our stay with a smoke alarm battery, but the host had a repairman there within an hour to resolve the problem. We couldn't have found a better place to spend our summer! The cool weather was a joy! Summit Lodge is located close to lots of great hiking and some wonderful restaurants! Five Stars from us!!!!

Spider bites & appliance delivery
A great location with a beautiful view. Very dated interior. A big negative was that we got bit by a spider several nights & had big welts on our legs. We told the owner & she said she would “tell the HOA”.

Great get away really enjoyed it!
Owner was prompt and pleasant to deal with; had issue with fireplace. Owner had someone out fairly quick to address issue however it didn’t get resolved for use during my short stay. However I would go back and stay again! Hot tub was amazing. Coffee maker if you like coffee; my only regret was I didn’t stay longer. Can’t wait to get back to this place! Be advised you’ll need to be able to walk up an down stairs to get to this particular unit. Didn’t realize that until after the fact and I have a bad knee. However that was my fault. Just be aware if stairs are an issue for you. Otherwise you’ll love this place!

Heaven on Earth
The pictures almost tell the whole story in the listing.... our experience was better than the pictures! From the first breath walking through the door (ultra fresh and clean), to the awesome views of the sunsets from the wonderful hot tub, everything was as good as my wife and I could have hoped for to celebrate our anniversary. Very quiet and enjoyable outside at night. Thanks for the memories and I would heartily recommend this property to anyone considering it! Thanks again for a great time!! (If there was a way to make it 6 stars, I would have)

Absolutely wonderful!
First of all, the pictures very accurately describe the property and views. Such a beautiful condo and amazing views. The winding roads up the mountain to get to the condo were even enjoyable. Secondly, the condo itself was very clean and spacious for my group. I have children ranging from 7-17 and we were very comfortable there. The hot tub was absolutely amazing to sip hot coffee while enjoying the sunrise and also to soak sore muscles in after hiking, in the evening, watching the sunset.
The owners were very responsive to any questions I had. And while we had a little snafu with the hot tub, rendering it unavailable for 2 days, they were prompt in response and got it fixed in what I feel was a timely manner.
I would love to come back in the fall, sans kids, to do some serious hiking. Or maybe for skiing in the winter. Regardless, if I come back to this area, I will rent this condo again!

Perfect weekend
This condo was the perfect place for our annual ski trip with friends. Walking distance to the slopes and picturesque views from the private hot tub.

Great weekend
The location was great and check in/out was easy. We would likely come back. We enjoyed the hot tub. Only things worth noting:
1. The dishes were not put away from the dishwasher. It was indicated in information that they should have been put away by housekeeping.
2. There were several empty water bottle on the floor, under the bed, in one bedroom. I feel like housekeeping should have caught this if they were thoroughly cleaning.
3. No salt. There was tons of pepper!! While this isn’t a huge deal we’ve come to expect most properties that have a full kitchen to include some basics like salt and pepper.

Great place for family
The condo was great and views just about the best in the mountain. The condo is about 3 condos from the top and you can ski down the mountain from the top. The condo was super clean and came with everything needed. The hot tub was loved by my family. My kids watched the sun go down and clouds move in right from the deck.

Great Valentines Day Weekend
First time visiting this area and we were thrilled with the location and just how nice this property is. Weather didn't cooperate but we were able to enjoy the spectacular views on Saturday. I would highly recommend this property; having access to the summit lift was a bonus! Very clean, beds were extremely comforatable and the owners responded very quickly to any questions we had.
Great time was had by all and we will be back!

Dream Home with Details -
Usually when I think of "dream homes" I think big picture--lovely, well-ordered surroundings, beautiful views, extra luxuries like hot tubs... This place had that plus the much more important things for a vacation ski weekend---spice rack with seasonings other than almost empty pepper, well-stocked kitchen for easy meal prep (like a crock pot and nutribullet), bathroom, toiletries, linens. All the comforts of home without having to pack or buy. We would have had a great time in this beautiful mountain condo regardless. But the added comforts (and the decor) made the place so warm. Thanks so much!

Amazing Ski Get Away.
This property is in such a great location and the view is beautiful. It was a great weekend getaway. The kids and husband ski'd while I went antique shopping. The hot tub is a great touch and we experienced a Winter Wonderland during our stay. Coming back!

What Fun!!
My husband and I and our four young children (between ages 2 and 10) spent Christmas in this beautiful home. The views are magnificent from the balcony. Hot tub was perfect! House was clean with lots of amenities. Location was perfect with skiing a jump away, Mystery Hill not too far and a grocery store and pizza 5 minute drive. Our intentions were to go skiing but due to the weather we were snowed in. This home was the perfect place to be. My children spent the entire day playing in the mountain woods located right next to the condo. The were able to sled and explore mini caves. They were able to play without scare of cars or snow plows going by. Perfect place for families. We had a wonderful holiday! Thank you!
