Overpriced for what they offer

Nice garden

- The so-called breakfast was particularly bad. Slices of bread with a slice of ham and a small slab of cheese, imitation butter and imitation honey. - The shower was broken. - Staff was not cooperative.

Very good

The nice staff. They opened the restaurant just for me - the owners are also the cooks and waiters, at least off season. Yes, the building is old and everything is basic and simple. However, I do not understand the bad reviews. Everything was clean, breakfast was okay, everything was worth the value. If you don't expect too much, you will get to enjoy a much underrated and beautiful area of Bulgaria.

The wifi only works in the common areas, which seems due to the building itself.

Fading grandour, but a good base

Room size was excellent, receptionist was very friendly, superb outside garden area to sit out at to have a drink. The general area where hotel is, is somewhat run down and much of it abandoned but dont let that put you off the hotel. Once inside, it is clear that this is not the hotel it once was but is still a welcoming oasis. A good base for exploring the area and a shop only a few minutes walk away.

Superb

Excellent hotel for Madzharovo standards. An old soviet building, but fully renovated and very well maintained. The people were very nice and friendly. There is also a restaurant. Everything went smoothly. They also have a beautiful garden. And flowering succulent plants which is an achievement.

Good

The staff are old but really kind people (they’re actually the owners of the property) . The room wasn’t that bad , can be better . The food was good and fairly priced. I loved the garden the view and the morning sunrise which I joined every morning with my coffee on the large terrace . it’s good place for short vacation.

The yard was nice.

Half of the lamps in the room didn't work, the bed creaked and we couldn't sleep well because of it. The breakfast was disappointing and with questionable quality.

Pleasant

Hotel looks clean and nice and the elderly receptionist lady was very nice

Service at the restaurant, when there was more than just a few guests, was awful. A single, unmotivated, server was hardly paying attention to the guests and we had to take the menus ourselves after half an hour of wait, and we left after another half an hour, because we couldn't order even after asking him to come.

Average hotel, that can become the best in town if managed properly.

The hotel has been renovated some years ago and the floors and bathrooms were clean. The cupboards and wardrobes were a bit dated, but did their job. The linen and towels were also very clean, the water was adequately warm, AC was working and the room size was standard for a hotel of this class. The hotel has a nice garden to sit in, relax and have a beer and also the location is quite alright, about 3 minutes from the only store in town and no more than 10 minutes walk to the center, where you can find 2-3 nice restaurants to dine in. The old lady at reception told us many things about the sightseeing places around Madjarovo. Overall if managed properly by an experienced person this place has a huge potential, but the current owners are an older couple who don't seem to have any experience in running hotels and attracting visitors, so there were barely any tourists staying here despite the holiday season at that time.

The restaurant - the free breakfast was terrible (you can't opt out - it is included in the price of the rooms and inflates it unnecessary and unjustifiably); down in the city center we heard some really bad stories of the quality of the food (it seemed the restaurant had a bad reputation among the townsfolk). The price of 25 EUR for a single room seemed too high, but as noted above, it includes a breakfast that can't be canceled. Also, the hotel was pretty much empty, it seems that all tourists were choosing the other hotels around.
