The central location and the music playing on arrival. It had an inviting and relaxed feel.
Our two bedroom motel room was comfortable, warm and spacious.
we liked everything

We were expecting a view of the waterfront but instead our unit overlooked the car park and office. No water to be seen. Our other view was the kitchen window overlooking the neighbours messy backyard with 2 dogs that barked. Very disappointing

We turned up in the dark and rain so had no idea what the location looked like. We climbed up an external staircase to our very comfortable first-floor apartment where we enjoyed a meal and then had a good night's sleep. In the morning, the weather had cleared and we were treated to a glorious view over the bay - the motel is right on the beach-front.
Akaroa itself is a charming town. We hope to return one day to explore the area more thoroughly.

Location was amazing, close to the shops and waterfront. Unit we stayed in was very spacious with great amenities. The whole unit was very clean. Overall a really comfortable stay for a very affordable price!

Large, comfortable first floor unit within easy walking distance of the main street and waterfront.
We were in a block of units next door to where we thought we had booked i.e. from the photos on the booking site. Those faced the waterfront, ours was at right angles to it.

The welcome was great, and it was neat to pick up a French accent in the owner! She offered to help take our luggage upstairs but we had reorganised so managed fine. She quickly came to our aid when we spilled some liquid in the kitchen. The motel is well located in the village, with everything within ten minutes' walk. There are kayaks and bikes for hire, and laundry powder is there for a gold coin donation. The whole atmosphere leads us, even though we've been before, to want to come back - soon!
