We loved that we had a lovely cabin to ourselves, the privacy it gave us, the decor made it very cosy, it very much felt like our place for a couple of days. We had everything we needed. Table top stove, microwave, air fryer, fridge, kettle and toaster. Sofa and TV. Comfy bed. Big shower. A lovely hamper full of breakfast goodies. Fruit, yoghurt and milk in the fridge too. We would definitely re book for next year.

The location of this was perfect, easy to walk into the town. The view from the room was lovely and we enjoyed sitting and eating our breakfast looking out at the views. The cabin was well equipped with lovely thoughtful additions e.g. slippers, fudge and other goodies in the food basket. Milk, butter and bread on arrival was great.
Parking on site. Good quality towels, bedding and toiletries made us feel spoilt.
Although we were aware that there was no oven we did not realise that there was no hob. There was an air fryer but we are not familiar with how to use this.
4.1
Comfortable with a great view. Very generous supply of breakfast foods and real milk.
The bathroom had no shelf to put the toiletries on.

The location was super handy and view was lovely.
The basket of treats was a lovely but unexpected surprise.
Well set out for the space, it felt roomy and had all we needed.
Given the lovely views, a nice place to sit out with table and chairs would have been perfect. More of a suggestion than a criticism.

De cabin is very beautiful and clean, the view is amazing.

Great little cabin on the way into Portree. Amazing views. Very well equipped and clean.
4.1
The cabin is charming, cozy, comfortable, and quiet. Exactly what we wanted. Great place to use as a base while visiting Skye. Walking to the center of town is about 20 minutes, which we didn't mind. We did have a car, but parking in the center can be a little challenging. The walk was pleasant.
4.1
Lovely cabin with very thoughtful amenities and a beautiful view of the water.
The only minor negative was that it took about 20 minutes to walk into town.

It is in a good location in Portree if you have a car. It’s on a main road, offset above the road with onsite parking. The main road is dark, with a lot of traffic. You would have a hard trek to walk to restaurants, shops etc. We stayed in the cabin (there were no guests in the house rooms and we were only offered the cabin which is a self catering unit). This means no breakfast, no towel changes nor cleaning. We were provided with an electric kettle, toaster, refrigerator and microwave. The owner Margaret is very accommodating and readily available. Views are beautiful from the property.
The “driveway” to the unit is full of potholes. The heat in the unit (2 radiators) comes on 2 times per day for 2 hours(?). The heat output is not adjustable and the bathroom is always cold. A towel warmer is a substitute for heat. It rained a lot during our stay and the outdoor mats were soaked with water, causing wet prints in the cabin. There is only one small carpet in the center of the room. No closet, just some hooks behind the door with hangers. Also no place for suitcases, we used the couch as a stand.

was in a quiet spot with a lovely view

This was a very comfy butt n Ben for us to explore Skye from. Margaret is a very warm and welcoming host.

Beautiful view of Skye
Spacious with a separate kitchen
Refrigerator stocked for breakfast
Nice hot shower

In walking distance of Portree (10-15 min)
Host gave us a ride to Portree on departure, very thoughtful
WiFi problems, to be expected in a remote location
Host tried to solve problem, to no avail
Bed could be more comfortable, okay for a couple days

Stayed in the cabin. Really humid and dirty. Uncomfortable. Breakfast was included but was not served. No WiFi. A bad experience for us.

great facilities
all good.

Nice and quiet location with good views over the water. Good sized room with comfortable bed and also parking outside
We stayed in self contained room away from the main house. We were disappointed with the cleanliness and felt the apartment could benefit from a thorough deep clean (lots of dust, hairs on the floor etc) We also had trouble with the lighting in the bathroom which was very dark and made it impossible to use the bathroom safely with the door shut. We think with the above improvements this accommodation would make for a great stay in the future

Location was great with access to all parts of northern Skye and quick trips into Portree. Wonderful views of the harbour and quiet (little to no road noise despite being close the the main road into Portree).
Lighting in the bathroom was non-existent - we had to leave the door open to have sufficient light for showers, etc. Also, the heating system was on a timer, so the radiators were on only early in the morning. The room was cold when we arrived and stayed that way until the heat came on the next morning. The room was cool on the following 2 evenings as we had set the thermostat to a reasonable temp (it was set at 16 degrees C upon arrival).

Very welcoming, lovely view (though weather let us down!). Very accommodating when we had to change our plans at short notice
Unfortunately at this time it wasn't possible to have cooked breakfast, but a continental delivered to the room. However we did get bacon sandwiches offered in addition

Lovely view and Very nice and helpful hoster.

We stayed in the cabin in the garden of the bed and breakfast. It is cosy, clean and has most things for a relaxed stay. It has a combined bedroom, lounge and dining area. A separate kitchen area, which has a microwave, toaster and kettle (note: there is no oven or hob). There is a good, separate shower room and toilet. Access is good as the car can be parked directly outside the cabin. Good heating and hot water. Wonderful views over Portree Bay from the small dining table. The property is just off the main road entering Portree and it is only a 15 minute walk into the centre for all the restaurants, pubs and shops.
Nothing to do with the accommodation, but there were problems getting an evening meal in Portree. We booked our trip very late and the good restaurants were all fully booked up in advance. In some cases we were told that 10 days notice was required! Other pubs and restaurants were only accepting walk-ins resulting in queues prior to them opening. One night we waited nearly an hour outside a pub to get access. This also had a knock-on effect if you just wanted a drink in a pub because you could not get a seat, or even access as all seating was full with people waiting to eat. Clearly there is a major problem with staffing, with other restaurants closed completely. Hopefully these problems will be resolved soon.

Walking distance to town
Eating breakfast on the bed was very difficult and the bathroom was not ensuite. Was advertised as private bathroom...but didn't state it was not ensuite.
The room next door had the squeakiest floorboards ever.

Great location for Portree centre (15 minute walk) and perfect for sightseeing the rest of Skye. Great views across the bay! Host incredibly friendly and brought breakfast to the room.
A little creaky when walking to the bathroom (there were other guests staying too), but that’s it!
4.1
Great location with lovely views and plenty of parking spaces. Room was very comfortable and spotlessly lean.
COVID restrictions meant lounge was inaccessible and breakfast delivered to room.

This was a great place to base ourselves in Skye. Margaret looked after us throughout our stay. We would book again!

The view in the morning from our room got us up from our super comfortable bed.
Margaret is an absolute delight and takes pleasure when helping you to have the best stay possible.
Everything was great.

Margaret was nice, bed was comfy
We went to the pub on the first night, when we got back just after midnight we were locked out and had to sleep in the car! Luckily I had my car keys with me, if not we would have been left out on the street. We were calling the phone and knocking the door but there was no answer. We woke up in the car at 6.30am and were let in before 8. Margaret was very apologetic and it was an honest mistake, but it did ruin our plans the next day as we were very tired. We were given £100 back which almost covers the cost of one night (we paid £125 per night).
4.1
Nice room, with comfortable bed and good facilities. Lovely views, delightful owner.
Nothing! (although breakfast was on a tray outside the room because of covid restrictions - understandable under the circumstances).
4.1
Margaret was very welcoming and view from room was beautiful
It was a traditional B&B. Although we had own toilet it was not ensuite. Room was small.
Due to covid breakfast was served in room but only place to eat was sitting on bed.
No tea or coffee were served with breakfast as tea and coffee already in room. But there is nothing to beat a nice pot of fresh tea or coffee in the morning.

Fantastic location, easy to walk to town and Margaret was very helpful.
We stayed in the hut which is self contained and has a microwave, kettle and fridge so perfect for our week of travel. Its a 2 minute drive to the big coop which was needed to stock up for our day walks and travels.
Overall a great 5 days here.
Thanks again!

Great location, lovely host.
Slight confusion over bathroom, it wasn’t en suite. Described as
Private bathroom which I took to be en suite. It was actually along the corridor.

Lovely clean rooms with excellent views .
Disappointing breakfast

I cannot say thank you enough to Margaret for the extra effort she made for us we stayed two nights and were leaving for an early hike one morning she ensured some breakfast was there at 6am & some sandwiches. The room was so comfortable and had fantastic views. This is a great place to stay on Skye you can easily walk into Portree for food & drink. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay & would recommend it
