One year ago we had an unremarkable stay at 'White Horses'. Everything definitely seemed better this year, to successfully complement the seafront location.
After being potentially quoted a 'without breakfast' price at the time of booking, it's possible that two breakfasts had been added when an automatic debit was made this month?
An 'early check-in' dialogue could have been progressed more effectively before our arrival became imminent.

Lovely location - book a sea view room
It was pretty expensive for a small room. It had re-opened only a few weeks previously and staff seemed to be still finding their feet. We couldn't sign drinks and dinner to our room on the first night nor breakfast on the last morning.

Right at the sea front with parking on site. You could see the sea from our room.
Our room was on the first floor with a noisy electrical cabinet just outside the window … it was on all the time which made sleeping difficult. At £250 a night this was not acceptable.

Location. Great staff.
It was fine.

A great hotel in a superb location. Good rooms with fluffy towels and really powerful shower. The staff were super responsive to our every need. They are a credit to the hotel.
Nothing really, maybe more sockets beside bed but plenty at desk anyway.

Location is fabulous. Lovely views to sea from the bedroom balcony and terrace. Easy access to Brighton and Eastbourne from the bus stop outside. Sunday roast was very good.
Limited range of cask ales.

Very good cherry compote for breakfast; plus good sea view from bedroom.
No information in hotel room (apart from fire alarm and menus). Verbal answer about Wifi didn't yield a viable outcome. It seems that I might have needed to access a Sky Wifi email in order to enable Sky Wifi, but I needed use to Sky Wifi in order to read their email?! Inadequate online Sky Wifi registration information
English Breakfast: dry shrivelled mushrooms, served with baked beans - which I'd already declined - instead of bacon.

The sea next to the Hotel. Breakfast was great and the beds where large and very comfortable. Plus bus stop right outside and a Tescos Exspress incase u forgot something.
The place does need an update. Ladies tolites even thought clean had no light in one and the other no lock on the door which is so easy to fix.

Breakfast was good and location was great as we were visiting friends in the area.
The bathroom needs redecorating as there is damp on the walls, which are crumbling. Also the sink tap needs replacing as it's corroding.

Great hotel in excellent position, easy to find, with views over the Channel. Very comfortable rooms and very good choice for breakfast. The restaurant served excellent value meals and the bar area was very welcoming. Excellent value for money and I certainly recommend it. Only 15-20 minutes from the ferry terminal at Newhaven. The hotel staff were very pleasant and attentive.
Nothing to dislike!!!

I had a balcony room with a sea view, it's pricy from £120-£130 for the night. The carpet was a bit dated and stained. The room is ok but I went to Eastbourne after and stayed in The View for £120 a night and it was way posher and more up to date. I had a balcony sea view in that too. Could do with updating. I was in a real rush with breakfast and realised when I got down it was not buffet but sit and wait. So, I asked for everything quickly but not sausage, I said I want bacon. I was given after a wait one egg and one piece of bacon and no coffee came. Maybe it was me rushing but i have had better for £120 a night, so give yourself plenty of time to see what you really get for breakfast! I did ask for another egg but I was told 'it's extra' only one egg allowed per guest which I thought was very stingy for £120-130 a night!! So I ate my one sorry egg and bacon rasher and was out in a jiffy without a hot drink.
