Beautiful gardens and spa facilities were outstanding.
Room was spacious and garden view was stunning.
Loved the little table and chairs we had in our garden room, was perfect for relaxing 😌 and reading my book 📖 with a cuppa and complimentary biscuits.

Breakfast very good
Service was extremely slow waiting for drinks
Ordered a porn star cocktail got served one without a passion fruit as never had any which is unbelievable considering passion fruit is a main ingredient
Was told that pork chop came with potatoes or fries of which I got neither had to order them once my dinner turned up
The was six people drinking in the bar we was told that they was closing soon it was only 10.40 pm
We was then asked when booking out wheather we was staying longer to use facilities if so that was an £9 pp
Never been asked this before I can honestly say I won’t be going there any more we have been here about five times and this was worse time ever very sad

The quiet setting and gardens and surrounding grounds.
The photographs were false on booking.com; The dining room had more tables in between and cramped than in the photos. The photos showed a bedroom with two beds together when in actual fact they were set well apart in different directions one facing north the other facing east. The bedroom was so small and stuffy with no windows or adequate ventilation and no air conditioning. The Spa was always crowded with people shoulder to shoulder; therefore didn't feel like using the facilities. Rooms are grossly overpriced.

TThe building is modern - replacing a stately home that stood there before. The architecture and ambience of the building is Japanese in style. Light woods, glass walkways and understated soft colours. The pool and spa facilities are very well maintained with the plunge pool next to the saunas being a bonus. In the end I didn't have a treatment so can't comment on these. The adult only policy is wonderful - peaceful and gentle atmosphere. Perhaps the highlight is the gardens which were restored by the owners, so they are mature, beautiful and mesmerising and planned out on different levels and include little streams, a lake and the remnants of a Victorian (?) garden wall.
wouldn't have changed a thing.

Staff were friendly
Massage was very good. Food good quality.
Lovely grounds. Room was clean & beds comfy.
Good location.
Communication was not good before stay.
Surprised and disappointed to have to book AND PAY FOR treatments before arrival. When I emailed to check for times I received a reply with incorrect treatments! It was sorted after I phoned but disappointing.
Room was nice but expensive. Also very warm despite weather not being too hot. Had to have fan on all night! I wouldn’t like to stay in very warm weather.
Food was good quality but not much choice- something like a burger needs to be on the menu.
Pool area crowded and very warm.
Surprised to have to pay on arrival instead of departure.

Spa is amazing and well equipped gym, food great and good choice too. Nice bar and restaurant. Comfortable rooms and bathrobes provided.
Could do with aircon in the rooms

Breakfast should have been buffet style but there was person serving it and wasn't happy to give you more . Had to ask three times for extra egg and he didn't look happy to give extra egg . And spa treatment was disappointing. Paid for 55 minutes. She only done it 40 -45 minutes and just rubbed oil on my body which I could have done it at home. I think my was waste of money.

Me and my partner got engaged here 13th july 2021 so we wanted to come back before we get married july 13th this year..we wanted a little break just for us. We had the best time so relaxing. The gardens are beautiful we walked around and went to the place we got engaged. Food is lovely, the staff are polite, friendly and very helpful. The Facilities are great. I've taken my mum for her birthday last year which she loved. She will be taking me for my birthday in October. This is one of our favourite places to relax we will be returning very soon.
The only thing I would say is the ice bucket and and flutes hiring is very expensive if it was £5 we would have used it instead of the sink

lovely grounds, good location near coast, and near some nice restaurants and pubs. breakfast food was good nice ingredients good local farm sausage and bacon, fresh fruit good and as I would expect - fresh pineapple/using pots of ketchup and brown sauce to reduce packaging etc - can you also do this with Jam and Marmalade? to reduce single use. Disappointing not to have good bread - please can you get some nice quality bread not plastic supermarket cheep bread, people would have less of the nice bread and not fill up on the processed. please can you use reusable glass bottles for drinking water in the room and not put two plastic bottles in each room! it was
lovely to meet Lenny and Simon when we asked to be walked around the garden and we would like to thank them for showing us the Madrone trees and the forever oaks and many more.. walking around the garden is great for mindfulness, could you offer walks for ppls mental health/relaxation- its an underused resource at your spa.. finally we would love you to consider bird feeders outside the breakfast windows - wild woodland birds need feeding and people would love to watch them at breakfast
bread at breakfast
jacuzzi/spa needs improving - there are NO firm jets for your (lower) back anywhere in the wet space. the lay on bed jets are no use for backs and the bubbles in the main jacuzzi only blow on necks.

The grounds are understandably lovely. Nearly all staff, in particular the younger ladies, were marvellous. They were extremely friendly, helpful, warm and genuinely welcoming.
Accessible room was far too far away, for my mum, who is ambulant disabled, and living with Alzheimer's, from the main facilities. I find this unbelievable in 2023! and in a purported top hotel of this nature. It defeats the object of an accessible room!! It certainly wasn't cheap. I may as well have booked a superior room for that price, and would have probably had less distance to walk backwards and forwards to even get to the lift to take us to Room 69! Ridiculous. My mother was shattered every time and very unhappy. As was I. No easy feat to get to that part of the hotel. (Mulberry rooms)
Bathroom floor needs deep cleaning. No hooks for partners /family members to hang towels in the bathroom. Seemed very odd. It would have been handy for someone to inform us, in times of good weather, a short walk across from the bar area, to the middle of the glass corridor, would cut 2/3 of circuitous walk in massive circle! Given that we had an accessible room, I would also maintain that heavy doors could have had release buttons. How on earth would a person in a wheelchair manage those doors? In the glass tunnel? Also, the massive door from the reading area was REALLY stiff. I could just about manage to 'slide' open. Not sure if I'd missed something here? I was disappointed with the spa facilities downstairs tbh. It seemed a little cramped ;given the expanse of the grounds and hotel layout. I had walked my mother all the way around pool, before seeing that there was indeed a stepped entrance into it. Perhaps signage would help for those of us who did not enter from changing rooms. The water was a little too cool. For people with disabilities to enjoy these spa facilities downstairs, I think was almost impossible independently. I get that it's difficult by its nature but.... I feel there could be ready fixes to improve inclusion. My mum was not able to sit down at all as all the loungers were extremely low. Some chairs would be good.

What did we like about the property? Leaving to come home!
We booked this place as it was supposed to be luxury. We try to stay in luxury hotels as often as possible.
A PREMIER INN IS BETTER THAN THIS PLACE!
We booked a disabled access room which was so inaccessible it’s ridiculous. The rooms are as far from everything as you can get and as a wheelchair user with a spinal injury there is a very very long way to reception/the main exit through 4 big doors - none of which are automatic and very difficult to get through alone.
We swapped our first room (69) as there was a constant dripping noise from the room above.
The ‘accessible’ rooms have no lighting around the bed - apart from a ridiculous reading light which is impossible to reach with a spinal injury. The only way I could get up and go to the loo was to wake my husband up - I don’t need his help at home. The bed side shelf on the bathroom side of the bed is much lower than the bed so impossible to use. The bathroom is ok but smells. It is dirty under the shower seat. The extractor did not work and there is no shower curtain so EVERYTHING gets soaked - including my very expensive electric wheelchair. The room overall is very basic. No drawers, no wardrobe , just 6 hangers on two 6 inch rails. Tea and coffee facilities are standard, a few teabags, coffee sachets and never enough milk pots. The water is scummy and horrible. The chairs in the rooms all have metal ‘u’ shaped legs and are heavy and very difficult to move.
Whoever designed this room needs a smack round the head with a reality stick. There was obviously no kind of consultation process as it is so user unfriendly.
The cleaners are very noisy - all shouting and calling to each other outside the rooms in the mornings. The rooms have little soundproofing so if you want a lay-in you’re stuffed with the cacophony.
The only meal we ordered was room service - gnocchi bolognese. It tasted like fried mince with hardly any other flavour. Grim!

extremely overcrowded. no where to sit let alone lay and relax. food the the restaurant at breakfast and dinner was cold and very bad quality. far too expensive for very basic food

Lovely friendly staff. Very welcoming. Clean, tidy, great facilities. Breakfast was gorgeous with a lovely large spread. Good choice. The bar is expensive, but overall couldn't be happier with the stay. Rooms were comfortable, Clean and had beautiful views of the grounds and lakes.
Bar expensive, a little annoying not having a locker during the first day as we had our room, but our room was quite a treck from the spa facilities, so had to keep going backwards and forwards if we wanted anything, like phone etc.

Great facilities including a steam room sauna and hydrotherapy pool. We did not have the treatment this time but looked great to try next time! Lovely breakfast also.

My room! It was the biggest bed and room I've ever seen, clean, comfortable and I was so tempted to stay another night!
Food was lovely at breakfast and light bites at bar!
The hydrotherapy pool is quite small for the amount of people booked into the Lifehouse however the Ladies Changing area has definitely improved since last stay there...more private changing areas and showers !
