Beautiful location, great staff, delicious meals, great onsen.
Paid mini bar but prices seemed reasonable.

If you're seeking a tranquil getaway from the hustle and bustle of life, Hanafubuki is an excellent choice. Although it's slightly off the beaten path, a night or two here is a wonderful treat for yourself. The location is convenient and in close proximity to several natural wonders. You can take a leisurely fifteen-minute stroll to reach the sea, and the 24-hour hot springs on the premises are a great way to unwind. Additionally, the exceptional kitchen will provide you with everything you desire.
Getting to Hanafubuki may require a slight detour, but it is still easily accessible. It's best to view your stay here as part of a specific, planned itinerary visit rather than as part of a trip with several destinations.

Friendly staff, many choices of private hot springs, and peaceful grounds. We did the upgraded dinner, which was delicious and filling. The location was easy to get to and an easy walk to various attractions.
The bathroom in our room felt dated but it really doesn't take away from your stay.

Staying at Hanafubuki is a truly special experience. The property is lovely, the staff are so welcoming and helpful, the food is incredible, and the onsens are incredibly luxurious.
4.7
The proximity to the Ito Kogen Station and nearby small museums. The hotel is built inside the geopark so you are surrounded by a lot of greens.
No booking system to use the 7 onsens is time consuming to find the available onsen.
4.7
The area was very good and atmospheric, onsens were great, dinner and breakfast were amazing. All in all, a great experience that I would whole heartedly recommend

Loved it.
My favourite onsen ryokan in Japan.
Staff are extremely courteous and helpful.
Brilliant location for a hike along the Jogasaki coast.
Delicious food for dinner and breakfast.
Strict orange juice OR hot drink rule at breakfast
I would encourage management to look into offering both a juice AND a hot drink, as is customary in other hotels

Fantastic tranquil place
Some of the baths could do with a “refresher” - some looks a bit worn out.

A beautiful modern ryokan immerse in a lush environment surrounded by a forest. There are a numbers of different open air onsen very charming. The japanese traditional dinner was delicious, like a michelin restaurant level.
4.7
The breakfast was delicious and the people made the experience unlike any other. The ambiance was so romantic and the peace of the forest made for an unforgettable experience. The staff greeted us with the warmest welcome and made sure we got to our rooms without getting lost. The hot springs were in fact, very hot, and also so romantic and fun to enjoy whenever we wanted.
We would have benefited from more instruction on how to wear the yukata.
4.7
Beautiful surrounds and service. Chance to explore exciting dishes and flavours. Gorgeous onsens.
Loved it all.

You can find it within 10 minutes on foot from Izukogen Station. I was impressed by the lush greenery from the entrance, and I was grateful for the very kind hospitality when I checked in. I used all seven hot springs satisfactorily and they are in good condition. Both dinner and breakfast offer the best Japanese cuisine. Best in every way, there's no reason not to revisit. Please experience it
None, None, None at all, Everything is perfect

beautiful ryokan with several wooden buildings connected by bridges and stone paths,
seven beautiful and spacious private baths,
located very close to the Jogasaki coast trail
Although we asked to have dinner in one of the three dinner rooms, we were placed in the reception hall for dinner. The lady waiter told us that all tables in the dinner rooms were occupied by guests who checked in before us. This was strange as we checked in very early and also, the hotel was nearly empty. we were very unhappy to have our keiseki dinner course in the reception hall so my husband insisted on a different table. we were finally move to one of the dinner rooms and saw that the room was nearly empty. just one table was occupied. obviously, the explanation given to us was not true.
I assume that it had logistical reasons but still, it felt strange that both international guest groups were seated in the reception area and not in the much nice dinner rooms, although tables were available

Exceptionally clean. Atmospheric and well maintained. Spacious rooms and relaxing private onsens. Stuff speaks English and very helpful. Food is good, but might be challenging for a western traveler.
Nothing in particular.

We loved the location - rooms and villas spread throughout a beautiful forested property. We stayed in a family room in a villa and it was huge. The food was amazing, and each meal was accompanied by a detailed English translation. Several staff members spoke very good English, which non-Japanese speakers will greatly benefit from. All staff were very warm and welcoming. The 7 private onsen were available for use 24 hours; you simply locked the door and a lantern would illuminate indicating it was in use. This was a stand out ryokan on a peninsula crowded with options.
The mattresses felt a little thin. It would have been nice to have a slightly thicker one.

The food, service, room, and onsens were all excellent. It felt like a dream. The staff were very attentive. I made a mistake with my booking but they were very understanding and sorted everything out for me, even though it was my mistake. They also provided me with two excellent vegetarian meals. The private onsens were the best part of the experience, you can easily lock the door and look out onto nature while soaking in hot water. I really recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for a luxurious traditional Japanese experience.

really nice bath and store

The location was quiet, peaceful, and calm - the perfect place to relax. When I booked, I didn't realize that all seven onsen baths were private and that you can stay in each one as long as you like. The property is surrounded by trees, and there is a bit of wildlife to be seen. The staff members were exceptionally helpful.
The dinner menu was one of the most varied I've experienced in Japan. Although everything was delicious and carefully prepared, there were some items on the menu that I thought were unusual or unexpected - for example, shark fin - and I was unable to finish every dish.
4.7
Tranquil surroundings nestled in a green and forested hill, with gorgeous costal hiking trails and quaint restaurants and the Teddy Bear Museum nearby, there's something for everyone here. Having a selection of private onsens were a huge bonus for us as a family and it was easy to find one free. We've traveled extensively throughout Japan and have had many amazing kaiseki meals but the food at Hanafubuki was the best we've had in recent memory--fresh, local, seasonal ingredients with nice creative and modern touches here and there rather than a strictly traditional approach. English-speaking staff and English menus made things really easy for us and they happily accommodated for children's meals as well as vegetarian preferences for my son.
The futon's were a little thin for my liking and it made side-sleeping uncomfortable. You might need to double up on mattresses to make it softer.

Everything was perfect. Worth the splurge!

Great communication with the hotel. A map in English was emailed to us soon after the booking was made.
Spoken and written English were excellent, especially convenient for foreign visitors.
Very thoughtful regarding meal seating. As we do not have kids, we were allocated in the dinning room without kids.
Various sizes and setting of private onsen available round the clock, which makes a wonderful experience.
The local ice cream sold at their own shop is a must!!
Each of the courses for dinner and breakfast was well explained, with menu printed in English.
The local scenery is breathtaking. The walk is easy and close to the hotel.
All in all a wonderful stay.
