Masterful blend of local style and luxury

The room was wonderful, with a great marriage of modern design and tradition, creating an atmosphere that made the journey worth while. When I set foot in the hotel I felt comfortable and relaxed, exactly what I needed, and it got better and better. Lovely room, great bathroom, just exquisite. The lobby was inviting and luxurious, the staff was excellent.

no one speaks English. contrary to what was written as the price of breakfast, we were charged much more and received poor service at breakfast.

Good stay in San Cristobal

The hotel is very well located in the town. Facility staff was very professional during our stay. Lobby is very beautiful with a good atmosphere. We also appreciated the quality of the service provided during the breakfast.

We did not like so much the design of the bedroom. Quite old and would need some renovation in comparison to the lobby, reception or restaurant. However, bathroom is quite good!

Stylish hotel in a great location. Expensive and has scope to give more value for money.

The hotel location is perfect. The restaurant in the hotel is very nice too. The room is spacious and also has a balcony with green foliage. The furniture in the room is new, clean and well maintained. The rooms are well lit and there is enough lighting and air conditioning. Bathroom and shower is also very spacious and comfortable. The hotel staff are very courteous, give good advice, and help make fantastic arrangements for excursions and travels around town. Their suggestions for local shopping of fabrics, coffee, meals, etc were spot on!

The room is not cheap! For the price we paid, we would have expected, at minimum, a kettle to boil water, to make tea or coffee, or some facilities like a mini-bar so that we dont have to rely on room service all the time. However, there is no such facility in the room at all.

Great location, clean, friendly staff

breakfast had limited selection and charged us extra for asking milk for cereals :) prices for tours and taxis via the hotel were 1.5-3x more expensive than elsewhere. Overall - not so great value for the price

Lovely large room in good location.

The reception area was too cold to sit in. Staff wore costs at front desk to stay warm. Reception staff lacked any local knowledge and couldn't answer the most basic questions.

Spacious bedroom, good location

bedroom was very dark, loud music played early morning and late in the evening and bedroom was very poorly soundproofed. Staff were not very helpful, had to clarify what was included in pre-paid breakfast several times. we asked the front desk staff to book us a taxi to the airport, a quick google search found one 30% cheaper

Gorgeous property in a central location at a great price and with great food

Beautiful property, the best food we had in Chiapas and really comfortable in a perfect central location. Free onsite parking in garage!

Only quibble was that no one spoke English which made us work a bit harder on settling bills and ordering food

Casa Del Alma was the nicest hotel we stayed at in all of Chiapas!

Casa Del Alma was in a great location to the sites in the city and within walking distance to everything we wanted to do and see. The hotel staff was friendly. The lobby was a nice place to sit and relax by the fire pit. The rooms were very large and exceptionally clean. The bathrooms were nice with great water pressure. The restaurant served a lovely breakfast that was included in our stay and it was delicious. If I am ever in San Cristobal again this is my go to place to stay.

We loved everything about our stay. Great hotel. We wish we could have stayed more than one night.

Amazing room and property. Highly recomended.

Beautiful property. Great location inside the volcano National park.

Food was fair. steak was a thin piece of meat which was over cooked. If you are going to advertise steak, serve a steak.

Disrespectful Restaurant Employee Temper Tantrum

They gave us a bottle of wine and meat and cheese plate for my birthday.

A Restaurant Employee was incredibly Disrespectful and rude to us when we were asking him for service. He turned his back on us and stormed off in a temper tantrum. Ruined the positive vibes of our stay. Extremely disappointed.

Everything. It's a great place to stay. Would happily go back.

Nothing much to fault. It's expensive, but you get what you pay for. The spa treatments were a bit overpriced, but that's not why we visited.

Good location, with some tweaks could be better hotel

Good location and nice breakfast / restaurant

The hotel plays music during the day which is quite loud and basically you can hear it in the room - difficult when you want to rest or nap. Also early in the morning you can hear when the staff is wondering around the hotel and checking the other rooms, and shouting each other [5.30/6am], which woke us up a few times. Either the doors are too thin on the acoustics of the cloister constructions and rooms makes it worse.

Very good location. Good restaurant and bar. All the hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. My son arrived at the hotel with food poisoning and stayed in the room. The restaurant brought specially prepared off menu plain food at restaurant not room service prices! When we took our son to the hospital for a diagnosis the hotel offered to send a staff member with us. I highly recommend this hotel.

We were disturbed by construction noise in an adjoining building. However the staff offered to change our room immediately. So actually a positive!

A wonderful hotel in a wonderful old city with very friendly people

Wonderful breakfast served in their small restaurant; a 5" walk to the central plaza; dozens of restaurants and interesting shops in the historic old town; 7000' altitude so cool in January; rooms/staff/ambience of hotel excellent; price very reasonable; parking in garage under hotel (not common)

San Cristobal de las Casas is a long way from anywhere. Fly into Tuxtla Gutierrez; then drive for 90" on a decent road that climbs continuously from ~ 1000' to 8000', before descending into San Cristobal. While road is decent, its only one lane in each direction with reasonably wide shoulders, but still treacherous to pass slow moving trucks on a climbing road with many curves. Much better to take a taxi or use Uber to get from the airport to the town. You don't need a car in the old town
