Bad

"I booked a bed on Monday and reached the place on Tuesday night from the airport. The person at the reception said they didn't have any space to accommodate me, even though they confirmed my stay. He said the amount was not charged and asked me to find another room. However, the hotel charged me, and I am not getting any response. Therefore, I recommend avoiding them.

Exceptional

Very good room for the price. Everything is reachable by foot, there are a lot of supermarkets and restaurants nearby. And special shoutout for the crew - they were suuuper friendly!

I traveled for work purposes. it was more comfortable for me to travel from this place as it's located in the center

Worst stay

Nothing. the hostel was empty, no backpackers and I understand why. I traveled different country, did lots of hostels and that was the worst I have been to.

first the room ceiling, the aircon and walls were with moisture on it, there was a dead cockroach inside the toilet. I am easy so I thought that would be ok, it’s not always easy to keep an hostel perfectly clean but seemed to be alright to live here. But the main problem was that in my bed, (last floor) were little ants that I did not see at first and that were biting me as soon as I went in the bed, making me very itchy. I had no choice but to stay as my flight arrived at 1am. When I discovered that, no one to be found. In the morning wanting to canceled the week that I had paid in advance, they said to me that it was impossible and that they would not proceed to a refund but that I was welcome to stay. Dirty is another word that goes perfectly with this hostel. The kitchen was unusable, dust, moisture on the kitchen stuff, dead cockroach on the cupboards and very messy with dirty pots everywhere. At the end had to not sleep for one night, pay one week of rent where I did not stay, and spend my time in a empty dirty place. I only stayed 7hours there but that was way enough to not be willing to stay.

Convenient place to stay with very friendly staff.

The location was ideal, one quick bus or tuktuk from Colombo. The receptionist was extremely lovely, he spotted us on the street and guided us in, reassuring us about the power outages, lighting some candles which was lovely. We were a group of 3 and requested to be all in the same room and they were lovely enough to give us a 4-person dorm to ourselves. it came with towels which was very helpful for our stay. A great stay if you’re just passing through, cooking facilities were basic, shower and toilet are there, however quite basic, but all you need for a quick stay. After departing I had realised I had left my speaker in the room, they were kind enough to call me to let me know and offered to keep it safe until I can return to Colombo to collect it. Overall a happy stay.

ok cheap option, can meet others, a bit dirty and badly managed, super-friendly reception

the staff member was lovely, very helpful. the upstairs area could be nice if kept a little cleaner by guests or a good cleaner. Can cook (dirty though) and plenty of fridge space. Cheap place, comparatively. Can meet other guests.

the rooms have no windows, just a rectangular concrete structure. bed was ok. Guests left a mess in kitchen and lounge regularly. Grubby (so either tell them or get a good cleaner). Electricity in kitchen blew a fuse if two appliances used at once.

Exceptional

Toilets and rooms were clean.

They didn't have water bottles to buy, just a minor inconvenience. I walked around the block to buy some. Aircon was tool cold and sheets weren't given. I used the given towel as a blanket

we were very happy

personal is very friendly, helped us with our backpacks when we were leaving and we left our belongings at our last day as well at the reception which was very comfortable there was an air conditioner! first time at our stay in sri lanka ! we slept so good beds are comfortable and big there is a little kitchen with the pots so u can maje a tea wifi worked very good very clean , no incecta found there is also a hot shower if you need

the room is not so big but for the price you pay is ok

Okay for a night or two...

Very comfortable bed. AC was set at a perfect temperature ( for me), unlike the freezing cold train's! Friendly staff.

Couldn't find the place as the sign had been taken down....i eventually arrived through the back door (going through the kitchen of a restaurant!). No place for bags/phone/glasses etc. Everything goes on the floor....or in bed with you. Cramped showers could do with more hooks at the very least. Traffic noise throughout the night. (earplugs required).

A great stay!

Great place for a safe stay at the city. Nearby to all facilities. Multiple shared bathrooms, so no worries. Comfy bed and AC was working well. Room is safe. Even lockers are their. Recommended!
