Excelente local para relaxar, usufruir uma excelente gastronomia e aprender sobre a história da região. Os vinhos produzidos na propriedade são excelentes e o serviço de toda a equipe é muito bom.
Talvez fosse válido incluir mais atividades para crianças.

This place is exceptional. It was one our best stays on our trip to Portugal, I couldn't recommend it more. It is a stunning property, the staff and food was great. Everything is beautiful, from the rooms, where you eat, the bike trails and where you can relax and have a drink watching the sunset. There is a beautiful town nearby that you can visit during your stay.
We liked everything but it would be great if they changed up the dinner menu and their own wine could be less expensive given that your staying there.

Honestly, there's not much to add to my 10 points. São Lourenço Barrocal, in my opinion, is the best hotel in Portugal. It couldn't be better, how the local natural landscape bounds it, the comfort, the staff, the food, and the attention to the smallest details. It was our third year in a row, and I hope to continue to come back every year.
Nothing!

Dinner in the restaurant twice and room service once. All meals simply outstanding and delicious with top service and very friendly staff. Breakfast was included and it was gorgeous. The place was exceptional and we intend to return for another lovely, calming break.

Rooms were spacious, the staff were very friendly and accomodating and couldn't do enough to help, they were also lovely to our dog and provided free bed and treats, the location with the surrounding grounds was beautiful. The consierge through whatsapp was a nice touch and convenient. We were given free cocktails for a special occasion. The grounds and pool area were well maintained, beautiful and clean. Free bicycle rental.
The restaurant was expensive and the food was a little average for the price. Generally everything is on the pricier side, yes its a 5* hotel but sometimes felt unecessary expense. The jacuzzi and sauna in the spa was out of service for our stay.

The hotel is a located in a very peaceful and quiet land. The aesthetics have been done with great taste, both in the buildings and the gardens. The decoration is simple and elegant. The multi-room suites are spacious and well-equipped. The housekeeping team efficiently takes care of little details. .
The hotel cannot deliver what they charge.
F&B options are limited and overpriced. Service for breakfast and dinner is slow and unproactive. The kitchen was unable to adjust to a vegan menu in spite of letting the property know in advance (their suggestion was removing non- vegan ingredients from existing dishes and charge them at the same price; at the end, we managed to get tofu with vegetables and it was charged for the price of red meat).
The pool was FULL of kids jumping, shouting, splashing... which disturbed the tranquility of other guests. They were several times in which we could literally not use the pool because kids have taken over it. Staff should be more proactive to request parents to either use the secondary pool (which is very suitable for kids as it is less deep and it far from the main area with sunbeds) or to keep them "under control".
Dogs are allowed for an extra charge at a fixed rate which does not consider the length of the stay and type of dog. However then they are not welcomed at the pool garden (which is huge) even if by the owners side, so basically one is expected to keep them in the room all day.

Very special place.
More expensive than the last two times we stayed here so the prices have gone up. This meant we could only stay 3 nights instead of a week.

Very beautiful place and rooms are big and with fantastic views. Nice bathroom and terrasse.
My big shower was broken and water splashed all over. This is basic and should have been fixed before a guest enter the room.
Breakfast was a mess.. I ordered black tea w milk and had 3 waiters in appr 20 mins before I got the tea.. I asked for a toast and that took also 15 min to arrive. Due to personal not understanding the order.. U expect more from a 5 star hotel like this. Only 2 more tables were occupied so not lack of people to serve.. More training needed!!
I also find the breakfast not so good.. Expected more... Fresh orange juice tasted like mixed with commercial, bread not really very fresh, fruit only a few pieces of melon and kiwi, scrambled eggs rather hard, not creamy.. cappucino not drinkable, just an espresso with some milk foam... The cappucino we had the day at arrival in the bar was good so they have capacity..
In the morning when I was still in bed appr around 18.10am.. A man was on the terrace cleaning... walking up and down looking in through the windows.. came back again.. not pleasant! Had to call to get him taken out of there...

The food is a huge let down, the same menu for lunch and dinner and 1-2 options for vegetarians or vegans. Low quality meals and very oily greasy food. Also tasted old. The breakfast was also not good at all.
The food needs a lot of improvement. Very limited menu with mostly meat choices. Really bad food

The best setting, location and staff, simply can not find anything to complain about
Everything was perfect

They were struggling with the number of people post lockdown - but the Manager was splendid in the circumstances. Beautiful property. Great wines and atmosphere.
The services struggled with the volume of people -- resturant offered room service instead which was in a great spot to the tables outside the rooms - the spa fully booked but they did a session out of hours. Def worth the effort.
