Neighborhood: Sketchy. The property overall was dirty and appeared to be in decay. Upon arrival, it was challenging to find the lockbox. Upon entering the property, we could see that it had not been cleaned. It looked as if someone had been eating something in the messy bed. We weren't sure if the specs of debris we were seeing were crumbs or bed-bugs... There were sheets in the washing machine that had not been washed. There was scaffolding outside, blocking the ocean view, as well as loud construction going on. When I contacted the property manager, they said the cleaning people had stepped out, but would be right back. This was almost 5pm. We were tired from our flight and driving to the property. It did not look as nice as the photos. NOT BY A LONG SHOT. I stated that this was unacceptable. TOTAL RIP off. Avoid at all costs... We were there to attend a wedding, and had to find last minute lodging, that was much more expensive. But... we weren't about to stay at this deplorable property. Paid over $1500.00 for 4 nights, and was only able to get a $175. refund. Live and learn...

I'm so excited to share this with you! The condo was fantastic, we slept with all the windows open, It was just awesome! The only downside was that there was no coffee or tea, and we couldn't find any nearby. (I wasn't looking for a Starbucks, just any coffee). Luckily, we stumbled upon the "Bald Guy" food truck and their amazing cold brew blew us away!

*No real air conditioning. There is a portable a/c unit in the living room & a box fan. The a/c doesn't cool enough; Other than the first night, we didn't have a breeze to cool the unit; it was humid & stuffy the other four night
*The queen bed is very soft & was not comfortable
*The dryer takes a long time to dry items & the lint filter comes loose while in use & clanks around inside the dryer
*The bedroom has poor airflow so we slept on the pullout sofa nights 2-5; sofa was firmer for our backs but there was a support bar that could be felt through the sofa mattress, not ideal
*Lots of rust: tub, top of fridge and sofa frame
*The cable TV did not work; the only way to turn off the TV was to un-plug it; there were three remotes without usage instructions
*Living room seating not comfortable
*The pots & pans are not new; some are teflon coated & should be replaced due to scratches
Wooden spoons & plastic cooking spatulas are old & worn
*No toilet lid
*Only one working electrical outlet working in the kitchen area, the other two did not work
*We had to message the host to get instructions on how to pull out the sofa
*No unit "welcome/unit instructions/local things to know" binder like other VRBO condos we've rented
*No photo of actual entire building in photos to see outside of building prior to reserving
Unit has great potential, but needs improvements so that guests are not inconvenienced & uncomfortable.

This was a mixed bag but potential to be great.
Pros
- View cannot be beat. Amazing!.
- Great beach. We regularly saw turtles while snorkeling off the beach.
- Excellent property manager who is very responsive and accommodating
- Great quiet location without the 'touristy' feel (exactly what we were looking for)
Cons
- The biggest one which took away from the whole experience was the condition of the unit. A lot of rust! We understand that ocean front accommodations are hard to manage for this aspect but we have stayed at numerous oceanfront condos and never experienced this much rust. The whole top of the fridge was (my apologies to the property owners), disgusting :(. Perhaps because I am tall that it was always in clear view for me and bothered me more than it probably would to others who can't see it constantly. It was weird that a lot of items were upgraded (e.g Kitchen) while others seem to be in bad shape (e.g. bath tub/shower, lanai, etc.)
- The bedroom is pretty much unusable. Primarily because there was no airflow in the bedroom and since the unit doesn't have air-conditioning, you have to keep the window open and then you can't sleep due to noise from the road. We slept on the pull out couch in the living room, which worked okay but was not ideal.
The building is going through an upgrade (noise etc. from that was minimal and did not bother us) so hoping the unit will also get some much needed freshening up.

Condo was as expected, not super but ok. Where to park was buried in the web site. My fault only read Check In and Check out procedures. No sign in the Condo or instructions. 10:30 p.m. after parking in same place for 2 days Security knock on door, had to move right now, I was asleep. Simple fix put a sign on the wall were the house key were kept with parking instructions. Also in the Check In and Out instructions give parking instructions. Everything else was as expected.

Mixed feelings about it. Rooms were clean. Living room/kitchen fine. However the bedroom was not big enough for the queen-size bed. Not enough space to squeeze past the foot of the bed just to get into the bed just 6â. The bed was up against the wall on the other side.So after the first night we moved the mattress to the living room and slept on the floor! The bathroom had two issues: toilet was so low it was almost like a squatty potty; the shower had NO grab bar if one slipped.
The appliances were good and everything else was fine.

An amazing peaceful beachfront location with breathtaking views of the moonrise, sunrise and sleeping sea turtles. Donât miss this one!

Pros
1. The beach. Right outside your door, turtles to swim with, beautiful to watch from the suite.
2. The grounds, well maintained, lots of space to chill
3. We felt very safe and secure
Cons
1. Beds - 7/10, tiny space, no door, thin pillows, light from outside walkway
2. No AC or fans

We enjoyed our stay! You cant beat the view in the morning. It was away from the crowds for sure but also means it was quite a drive to the nearest bar if you were wanting to have a drink in the evening. Super close to the Polynesian Cultural Center though, which we loved! Quite a bit of street noise when sleeping with windows open; we tried the hide-a-bed on the couch as suggested in other reviews so we could just hear the ocean but the mattress there was too uncomfortable.

Property is in a great location on the north side of the island. The beach I has nice sand and Little Rockâs.

If youâre looking to stay outside of Honolulu this is a great place to stay! We saw and heard the ocean every morning and evening from our balcony. Short drive to everything we wanted to do and see! We would recommend this place!

The property is secluded and very relaxing. Turtles on the beach every morning and a very relaxed vibe. We didnât want to leave.

This property is in a great location, right on the beach and close to all kinds of great food and hikes. Sandra was very helpful and responsive, and the apartment was in great condition!

We had an awesome stay at Sandraâs condo, the location is perfect if you want a Oahu vacation thats all about sun, surf, vistas and have it without loads of people everywhere. Sandra went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. The condo itself e gives you a quiet, relaxing surroundings and the in condo laundary is a big bonus. My advice is to make your Oahu plans to include this gem of a spot

We had a small glitch checking in but Sandra was amazing and immediately rectified the problem. We had a wonderful time. It was clean and very accommodating with everything that you would need for a prolonged stay. The most beautiful sunrise greeted us every morning from the lanai that overlooked the beach. Very picturesque! We loved every moment spent there and will definitely return! Easy check in and outâïž

The building is very old and is not appealing from the outside. It has been under construction for 1+ yrs with at least 1 more year to go. The pool was closed the entire time due to construction! With that said, the inside has been updated and is pretty nice with an excellent view. We saw turtles every day. Note there are no BBQ's :(
Sandra (prop mgr) was awesome and very helpful!

Had everything we needed. Really appreciated the 2 beach chairs and laundry. Glad for all the construction for someday, it will again be a lovely property. Lots of privacy. Slept in the livingroom with the ocean sounds. Not enough parking spaces for condos such as this. Received warning tickets when had to park in another space. Didnât want to park on the street at night. Thank you for a special place to celebrate part of our 50th anniversary!

We arrived tired and weary....the condo unit was exactly as described. Checkin instructions were all as described in the email that we received from VRBO. The unit was efficient, and had everything that we needed. The maintenance crew at the building was really nice and totally mindful of our needs despite facility maintenance that was being done.
We woke every morning with ocean breezes and sipped AM coffee overlooking the Pacific, just before going for a walk along the beach thereafter. I would definitely go back here again.

We enjoyed our stay especially on being at the north shore. Place was perfect for 2-3 people. We slept on the pullout couch since we preferred ocean over traffic. Construction didnât bother us. It got smelly with the septic system but I still go back and spend another week in a heartbeat

Beautiful views from the balcony. You can watch the sunrise from the living room if you wanted. My favorite part was being able to come and go to the beach. No need to drive a few miles to the beach and feel obligated to stay. The private beach was never crowded. Usually 10-15 people out there. My husband and I enjoyed snorkeling everyday! We came in March and were able to watch whales playing in the ocean from the balcony. We loved our stay and I would stay there again!!

We were not told about the major construction that was going on. When we got to the property and got to the elevator, and the doors opened, it looks like weâre in a construction site, all plywood dirty, and just not very welcoming. Between the road noise and the ocean there was not much sleeping, it was hot and stuffy if you close the windows and if you had them open, it was like a hurricane overall we had a bed and a shower which I guess is what you need but if youâre looking for a lovely nice vacation donât go here. The place is a mess . There was not a single useful thing in the kitchen no salt and pepper and thereâs no restaurants nearby except for one. I know thatâs not the fault of the property owner because of Covid it has wrecked the island. And to make things worse my husband was checking around and come to find out the reason why theyâre replacing all the balconies starting on the right hand side of the building is because they have the same issue that happened in Florida where the building collapsed, per a construction worker that was on site. And lastly the, and I use the term loosely, bedroom was not a full room the queen bed took up the whole space wall-to-wall and you had to scooch down to the end of the bed to get out which is really not easy when youâre in your late 60s. To the owner Iâm really sorry for the bad review but I really donât want someone else to go there and ruin their vacation. You should just be upfront with people and let them know.

My husband and I enjoyed our stay. We spent the days out and about so we were only at the condo in the mornings and evenings. The condo had everything we needed and any concerns or issues were addressed with great communication. The condo was comfortable and check in and check out for really easy. The ocean view was an added bonus to view every morning and night.

Great view and beautiful sunrises. The unit is what is shown and described on the listing. Exterior construction at Pat's limited parking so much that finding a spot in the evening after visiting other parts of Oahu was a challenge. Also, because of the construction, the pool was unavailable. Walks along the beach are great --- look for the turtles, but stay your distance. Again, you are paying for the view and sunrises!

I managed to score this property vs. stay in one of two hotels in the area, and I'm so glad I did! The view with the balcony and the full kitchen made it worth it right there. I admittedly run hot so was worried about being comfortable, but I slept on the pull-out couch (surprisingly comfortable) with the sliding glass door open & the fan on me, and I was fine. The basics are all there (dishes, coffee maker, pots/pans, etc.) as well as conveniences like a couple beach chairs! I had snorkeling stuff with me & I'm glad I did since I saw THREE turtles! There is indeed work going on in the building but I don't remember hearing it before 7:30 AM when I left for a conference, and it was done by 4 or 5 every day. Great communication with Sandy. I feel so fortunate that I was able to stay here, and I look forward to returning!

Great location on the island, away from all the crowd in Honolulu, beautiful beach, beautiful view, and nice ocean side landscaping. They are repairing the building and parking can be difficult. Overall, we had a great experience.
10.0 / 10.0
Overall great experience. Construction on the property made parking a bit confusing, but the apartment itself was just as advertised.

What we liked about this condo was the view, how it was decorated, and Sandra was a really good communicator.
Our biggest issue with this proprety is that you can't swim there. I did check with Sandra before we reserved, and she said it was safe to swim there due to the reef which was true, however it wasn't safe due to portuguese man o' wars. Unforntunately I found that out during a swim, where I was stung across my face, both arms, my right hand, and left leg.
We hadn't walked the beach yet, I just went for a swim, like I had planned to do each morning. If we had walked we would have seen that the beach was litterd with portuguese man o' wars, all over.
We talked with employees from the building and they said that people get stung all the time in winter. I would have liked that information before we rented this condo. Also, since this happens often, it would be great if the condo itself had vinegar on hand, since that is the antidote for the stings.
We weren't though surprised that there was no vinegar in the condo though, as in general, the condo was insufficiently supplied. There was no pepper in the pepper shaker, and such a small amount of salt, that that ran out during our stay. In general we found that things we expected to be provided, not to be provided. I could give a more detailed list, but you get the point.

A perfect apartment for two, comfortably and attractively furnished, clean and well kept. We spent most of our time on the balcony with its beautiful view or on the sandy beach, a great place to swim.
8.0 / 10.0
The place is small but cute. Really a studio because there is no door to the âbedroomâ. Wonderful view of the ocean from the 5th floor. Sandra was wonderful and very attentive to our concerns. The biggest issue is the building is under major construction. The pool was unavailable during the day which was disappointing. Once the remodel is complete I would consider staying here again.

After very hectic months of work and personal commitments, we planned a quiet 5-day vacation on beach and at pool that this property advertised.
What we got during our 5-days was a fabulous beach with jack hammers starting at 8:00 AM; pool closure due to construction debris; poor parking due to construction equipment; patched building walls (from falling concrete); and construction crews constantly occupying elevators and walk ways. We tried to take all that in stride and just spent more time away as the crew finished work at 5 PM. However, the last straw and ultimately our poor rating, was that on our last day, we walked out to see "asbestos tape" crisscrossed across the adjacent neighbor door, with blowers pushing air as we pulled our suitcases through the walkway.
We were not informed that the building was "under significant renovation;" that the pool would be closed; or that there would be noise. If it wasn't for the grandiose view and comfortable amenities, they would have gotten an even lower score.

Nice stay
Check in was easy, the condo is renovated and clean, and the view was beautiful. There is heavy construction throughout the building, however, it didn't impede our stay. This side of the island has less traffic and is much slower paced than tourist areas like Waikiki. If you're looking for a relaxing vacation with snorkeling, boarding, and soaking in the view then I'd recommend this rental and area's beaches.

Best place to stay in the area!
My mom and I had a fantastic stay at Sandraâs unit! This is now our second time staying here and we would love to come back! The unit itself is very clean and has everything needed for cooking and cleaning. The view in the morning from the balcony is out of this world! And the beach area just in front of the building is the best beach on the island for relaxing. We love thatâs itâs away from the hustle and bustle of Waikiki. I would recommend this unit to anyone wanting to explore the north shore!
Also P.S. communication is great! We didnât have beach towels at first, but had towels brought to us within the hour! Great service and hospitality!!

The building is kind of falling apart, but we enjoyed the ocean view and there were some decent remodels done on the condo
