Family room was beautifully decorated with great attention to detail. Even exceeded the amazing website photos. Spotlessly clean. Delicious breakfast made to order served by really helpful staff.
Nothing.

Quiet, peaceful, tranquil. Staff was lovely and so kind to my family and the grounds around the hotel are beautiful. If you are visiting Villingen-Schwenningen and need a place to stay, I highly recommend Die Säge. Only 10 minutes from V-S, and so much nicer than any hotels there.
Everything was wonderful!

Hotel is great
There was a party downstairs and we were warned about it, but what we were not told is that there was a DJ and the party went on until 2am. It was so load that we were not able to sleep even with earplugs in.

Very nice modern room with wooden styling just like in photos. Very clean and comfortable in nice location with forest and hills around. Unfortunatelly i had to stay just for the night so i had few hours in Die Säge but i would go there again. It was useful for me that i checked in by my self because i arrived late at night. I recomend it for sure!

deluxe room was beautiful, gardens are lovely. Surrounding area is nice for walks.
Road traffic a little noisy but not overly busy. The restaurant is closed since the pandemic so no evening meals at the hotel.

Very comfy beds. Tasteful interior decoration and concept.
No A/C. Rooms weren't very quiet (could hear neighbors).

What a stunning hotel. In my experience travelling around Germany, it is unusual to find a hotel which has so obviously been set up with love, impeccable style and attention to detail. From the highest quality of bed linens and drapes to the stunning inclusion of so many original details. Sadly we were unable to experience dinner here as tragically the restaurant section for hotel guests has had to close due to the current situation. However, if the breakfast and super friendly and helpful staff are anything to go by, I’m sure it would have been tremendous. I can’t recommend this hotel highly enough.
I LOVED everything about this hotel

Nice facilities
Too loud, impossible to sleep, worst hotel experience ever. They had a large event going on with loud live music. It lasted past 2 am in the morning. It’s more of a restaurant and event center than a hotel so they need to decide of who they want to be, otherwise it’s a huge disservice to hotel clients. What is a hotel worth without a good nights sleep?

They place and décor was nice and tasteful, especially if you compare it to most other places in Schwarzwald (which look like they have not been renovated for 20+ years). Everything was in working order, bath was great and overall there was wonderful attention to details - f.e. bath salt and q-tips provided etc. The car parking was also under a terrace/roof.
Overall, we wanted to have a quiet getaway from big city noise (especially during New Years) in beautiful surroundings and that is exactly what we got!
There were only couple of tiny details - the sound isolation could have been better - we could hear "neighbours" very well and and they probably heard us too. We also could not really adjust thermostat of the room either on purpose or it was simply not strong enough - it was not cold, but it could have been a bit warmer...

I think breakfast was to high price..

Nice refurbished saw mill. Pre-ordered breakfast was excellent.
Their COVID policy is “no face to face check in”. You get a code with which you retrieve you key from a lock box and go straight to the room. Efficient, but you do miss the personal welcome. During my stay I only saw the breakfast chef and one cleaning lady.

Location easily accessible.
Self service access of the room for late arrival.
Design of bedroom and pleasant scents.
Cleanliness and comfort of bedding.
Big skylight of the bathroom, bringing natural luminosity.
Good costumer Service.
A bit noisy on the morning, cause next the road.

good quality and interesting furniture, nicely decorated
Our experience with Die Säge was very bad. Our stay was great, however the next day after we left the property I received a message from them saying that we did some damage in the room and that they will charge us for repairs. There were no details in the message and when I called them the receptionist said that it has something to do with the curtain, without further details. When we checked in, the curtain was falling off the ceiling rail and I mentioned this to them. Later they called back saying that this was the issue and that they've been able to fix it however some plastic pieces were broken but they won't charge us, however in the follow up message they accused us again of braking the curtain when it was not our doing and it was like that only when we checked in. Furthermore, they are unable to charge the room rate on the card use on Booking.com and they make me do an international bank transfer to pay the room now, which will cost me more due to bank fees. They ruined my day with the accusation of damaging the room without checking before, they caused me lots of stress and offended me and now, 5 days later, I'm still spending my time trying to sort out the payment. The receptionist was nice and professional, however the experience with them was very disappointing as I loved the pics and really looked forward to staying with them, now I regret choosing their hotel over another one I found at the same time.
The room was nicely decorated however small, if you are tall you need to bend to cross the room as it is set on mansard, the ceiling is low and not a lot of walking space around the bed. In the pics the property looks big and set on 3 levels, however they only have rooms on the upper level.

Lovely rustic-looking rooms with comfy beds. Very good breakfast and a good restaurant for an evening meal. Helpful, friendly staff.
