Beautiful view and nice staff

Staff were really nice, we felt very welcomed at the hotel from the drop off point to the check out! The room was large with comfortable beds and had a great view of the bay.

Beautiful hotel in a stunning location, delicious food and wonderful amenities, great for families.

The room was comfortable and clean, the location was stunning and the amenities were great. The dinner and breakfast buffet were not huge in terms of choices but the food was all delicious and the view from the restaurant was beautiful. There were activities for children every evening and the onsen was a lovely way to unwind in the evening after a day in the pool, on the beach or exploring the town.

The beach and pool are accessible by a lot of steps so not suitable for people with limited mobility. We also found that no food is available around 4pm-5.30pm (so it’s worth bringing snacks if you have young, hungry children who need something to keep them going until dinner!)

without a car it is simply the wrong hotel for non Japanese tourists

nice view- staff were pleasant although English was an issue

miles from anywhere - no shops or restaurants without a taxi - on a hill with a climb down to the pool and even steeper one to the beach in peak season it would be fine as they have bbqs and activities , but out of season the only food is in hotel restaurant which was hard to get into . even if they had a bar there would be something to do after 5.00 when the pool shuts

Beautiful location, but a bit far from downtown.

The hotel itself and the area around it is beautiful, I had a room with a view of the ocean. A large selection of different things in the breakfast buffet as well.

While the location looks nice, it is a bit far from downtown Shimoda where all the restaurants are. There is a shuttle bus, but the timetable does not cover the evening, which means a 30 minute walk.

Excellent weekend stay.

The view and the location are outstanding, the hotel has a very nice park and and good access to the sea. The lobby and the hotel restaurant are high class as well - we enjoyed our stay a lot.

The onsen is outdated, should have renovation. I was even missing a cold bath in the onsen. The bathrooms are kind of outdated as well - a bathtub with a curtain is not any more state of the art for such kind of hotel category.

Best room view ever!

Amazing hotel, the view from the room is superb! The staff was very nice and helpful, especially the concierge who speaks really good English. Afternoon tea is to die for! The hotel is on top of the hill, so a bit far from the city, but the hotel has a shuttle bus that can take you wherever you need to go and the taxi is cheap.

excellent, enjoyable location for a relaxing vacation

it is on top of a hill, an excellent location overlooking the bay, the ocean and the islands. it is close to a natural walk along the coast watching waves hitting the rocks and walking to the aquarium, Shimoda park and all tourist attractions. room was clean and updated with lots of amenities. Breakfast was good quality with lots of choices. Staffs were super friendly and helpful. I’ll be back next time for a longer stay.

not much to complain except it’s on top of a hill which you either need a car or take the shuttle. Walking is good exercise!

Absolutely stunning place to stay, highly recommended if you're driving to Shimoda, Japan.

Stunning ocean views from my room. Excellent breakfast and dinner options. Exceptionally attentive and experienced hotel staff. Lots of scenic walking paths to explore and photograph. Quiet and serene area.

Hotel is way out of it's way and driving to it is a daunting task with winding roads and tolls that don't do ETC 2.0 (hence cash is needed).

You must choose an ocean-view room. In winter, the run rise is around 6:30-7:00 so you have a good chance to see it with no effort to wake up early. It's stunning.

The dinner in the hotel restaurant is overpriced. You can find some quality foods easily in downtown Shimoda.

it was a very nice and relaxing stay!

i love the property over all, the free pool and beach is near, the beautiful view, friendly staff, neat and clean rooms, children friendly hotel!

we ate lunch at the hotel but prices of the food in restaurant was kinda expensive and choices are few..
