About this cottage rental
Our grade II listed cottage has been sympathetically refurbished to provide the conveniences of modern-day living whilst retaining the charm of period features: Wood-burner, inglenook fireplace, stone floors, and wooden beams as well as the WiFi and flat screen HD TV. The ground floor also has a living room (with double sofa-bed), study/office/reading room, dining room, and separate kitchen, shower room plus sun-room. The 1st-floor has 3 bedrooms plus an en-suite bathroom. 'Thatches' meets the needs of groups of friends as well as families with or without children and the office space and WIFI make it perfect for anyone needing to work while away. ‘Thatches’ has direct access to its fully enclosed private garden and off-street parking area and is a short stroll away from Williton's shops, pubs, and restaurants. Further amenities are just 2 miles away at the historical coastal town Watchet with its marina and fossil beaches. Sandy beaches can be found at Kilve (5 miles), Blue Anchor (5 miles), Minehead (15 miles) and beyond. This is an ideal year-round holiday or short break destination and a superb base from which to explore West Somerset’s many places of interest. We have wonderful countryside on our doorstep, a beautiful coastline nearby and numerous fascinating historic buildings, museums, and other tourist attractions in the area. Do come and enjoy!

Lovely property with comfortable beds, spotless bathroom, and great location for a relaxing stay. Dog-friendly with nearby pubs and supermarkets. Highly recommended for a pleasant vacation.

After we suffered water ingress in our home we were so lucky to find a property nearby that was available. In all fairness to the owners they had no time to prepare for our visit but the beds were cosy and the bathroom spotless.

As advertised, very comfortable and relaxing, slept very well, weather not perfect (nothing to do with the hosts), but plenty to do in the area, beaches dog friendly.

A family cottage for all
Family and friends stayed for new year. Lovely comfortable cottage, equipped with everything you could need. Even bowls for the dogs who could wonder in and out without any concern for their safety. Beds lovely and comfortable and so quiet. Great pubs within walking distance and 2 supermarkets. We had a lovely stay. Thank you 🙏

Thatches
The property is in great location and has all the needs required, but the property needs attention, cleaning ie cobwebs and kitchen cupboards and garden is a little overgrown, but all in all we had a lovely time.

very comfortable stay
This was a lovely, comfortable property in a great location. The beds were very comfy, and good spaces and the dining area and living room worked very well.
The only negatives were the upstars bathroom - the shower, as there is no curtain or protection is pretty much unusable (even being really careful the water inevitably goes everywhere), meaning there is only the downstairs shower for everyone, and the NEFF oven, which was very difficult to figure out and took us some time.
We would happily go back again however, if the second shower was fully usable

The cottage would have been lovely unfortunately the level of cleanliness was very poor .
The cottage was in a great location and had everything we needed, but unfortunately hadn’t been cleaned properly for months. The bedding was exceptionally clean it was just the property itself. The bathroom floors were filthy we had to wipe hairs and dust from around the toilet area when finished the paper towel was dark brown. There were cobwebs and thick dust on skirting in all rooms. In general the kitchen was very clean except for the oven, so we didn’t bother to use it. The lounge carpet was very stained and had bits all over it- we tried to hoover but it didn’t work particularly well, I understand that there were contractors in for 10 weeks prior to our stay but in my opinion the owner should have paid to have a deep clean done before we arrived, Have contacted the owner upon our return she said we should have contacted her when we were there but we were in Williton fir a family reunion and didn’t wish to wait around fir a property inspection when this should have been done prior to our arrival.

Lovely place for a holiday!
We had a lovely stay in Williton at this cottage. It was well equipped and nicely furnished, with plenty of room. It is brilliant for dogs as it is completely secure, although it's next to the road. Our dog is tiny and there were no spaces for her to escape through! One massive plus point was the excellent mattresses which gave us a great night's sleep (even though I have a bad back and usually suffer when we go away). Just to mention that the little winding staircase leading to the upstairs would not be suitable for anyone with mobility issues as it is steep and doesn't have a rail.
The owner's father, Ken, was really helpful both at the beginning and end of our stay and it was great to know that he was on hand.
The location is ideal because you can walk into Williton village in a couple of minutes, where there are supermarkets, cafes and restaurants. Also, the sea is very close by car and there are plenty of good places to visit nearby.
All in all, we highly recommend this property.

Charming cottage.
Stayed here in August. Four adults and three children. Good location with local shops and pubs close by. Good base for days out exploring the area. Clean and comfortable. Only downside would be its right on the A39. Safe with the gates closed but just noisy early morning. Would recommend though.

A Perfect weekend
We had a wonderful weekend..it was a surprise for my husband's 70th Birthday.
The cottage was beautiful. We ate out in the evening --loads of restaurants in walking distance. All 8 of us had a fantastic time.

Beautiful property full of character
Lovely property, conveniently situated close to shops, pubs etc of Williton. Tricky entrance/exit to driveway off busy main road, but plenty of room for parking - we had 5 cars parked at one point during week.
Gorgeous living room with open fire - didn’t really need it at this time of year but imagine it’s cosy in winter. Kitchen not huge but fully equipped with a slightly tricky oven - ok when we followed the detailed instructions! Plenty of crockery & cutlery for 8 of us, with a small but functional dishwasher. Enjoyed using the sun room as it wasn’t really warm enough to sit out in the beautiful garden most days. The main bedrooms were up a small, steep, stone spiral staircase - we all tended to climb up on all fours, but maybe a rope hand rail on the wall side would be useful?
Beds were very comfortable- plenty of clean bedding, pillows etc gorgeous en-suite to main bedroom with roll-top bath which sadly we didn’t use. The downstairs toilet & shower were used by most of our party.
The busy main road was quite noisy in the mornings especially but not a major issue.
All in all a great stay

Fantastic holiday, fantastic cottage. 5 star all round
Beautiful cottage in a quiet area but a short drive to multiple places like minehead and Clarke's shopping village for example. As far as a holiday in this country goes it doesn't get much better.

Lovely Christmas at Thatchers
We had a lovely stay for a week over Christmas and especially enjoyed the extras that made the stay even better (Christmas tree, Santa key, Christmas cards, the baby monitor and night light.).
The kitchen was great and we had no problem making Christmas dinner for our party of 9.
The bathroom distribution was the only tricky part as the only bathroom upstairs is the ensuit so that makes a bit tricky for the other bedroom guests if they need the bathroom at night (having to go downatairs). Also the ensuit upstairs only has a large bath, which, even though thoroughly enjoyed by the younger generations, was a bit more tricky for the older generations... (shower downstairs)
The bed was really comfortable and we sleep really well!
Despite being next to the main road running through Williton, the cottage was very quiet and we didn't hear any outside noise at all.
We wished we could have enjoyed the little garden more, but the weather didn't allow for that - maybe another time!
All in all we had a lovely stay in the cottage and Liz and her family were great hosts too.

A Superb Cosy Cottage, a little gem in Somerset.
'Thatches' is a very pleasant well equipped cottage, everything you need has been carefully thought about & supplied even tea, coffee and a pint of milk in the fridge, biscuits too! (Very thoughtful) We thoroughly enjoyed our visit as it allowed family from different areas of the country to meet up & stay very comfortably together, the bedrooms were perfect for our family needs, one with a gorgeous en-suite with a freestanding bath, lovely!!
Also a very handy 'snug room' with sofa bed which was a bonus for any extras.
The cottage was super warm and a wood burner in the lounge to boot so made for great snug nights in, the kitchen is very well equipped with everything you could need. The cottage was a proper home from home enabling our family to enjoy meals together around the large table which was fab.
The lounge has a tv, stereo/ cd player, games & dvds and plenty of books throughout the cottage so something to keep everyone occupied.
On arrival we were met by Ken who did a grand job showing us around the cottage making us feel very welcome which was super (Thanks Ken) his local knowledge was great too, Williton has everything you could need; a great little high street, pubs, resturant & cafes, fish bar, petrol station & supermarkets for the little things forgotten.
'Thatches' is a little gem very much worth a visit. Thanks Liz for thinking of everything & making our family time together even better, go on book it you'll love it too! .

Wonderful stay in Williton
We loved the Thatches! It's a cosy, well equipped cottage with a lovely garden that was perfect for our dog. Ken met us when we arrived and was really helpful and friendly. Watchet is a forty minute walk away and the cottage is five minutes from the local shops and restaurants (the local Indian is very good). Would definitely recommend.

Beautiful cottage, perfect area!
Gorgeous, roomy holiday cottage for 5 adults and one baby. Perfect layout for a family. Great area too with shops just down the road and a little train station within walking distance.
Shout out to the curry house too - thank you to host for suggesting it!

Lovely cottage - full of character and very comfortable. Extremely well equipped and maintained.
We stayed for a weekend and it was just right for us - a group of 5 ladies. The cottage had enough living and sleeping space. The bathroom situation was slighty awkward - the only access for the upstairs bathroom was through the master bedroom. There is another shower/toilet room downstairs. The cottage was well located for exploring the local area and also convenient for the village amenities. I would certainly recommend this beautiful cottage - the owner's father, Ken, was very welcoming and informative.
