Very central and a 2 min walk to the pier and the waterfront.
The dining room was a bit chilly first thing in the morning.

The location and staff were first class the cleanliness was exceptional, the bed wasn’t to my partner or myself usual comfort but we were only there for two nights, I would recommend the Hotel to friends and family and if we are ever in Campbelltown again we will be calling again.
The breakfast times were a little bit different from other Hotels we have stayed in ,example on Saturday time out was 9am a little early in my opinion for a retired couple on vacation?

Everything was great! Friendly staff, very good food at reasonable price. Great tiny bar as well!Rooms clean and comfortable bed. Spacious bathroom with a bathtub. The location is excellent. Definitely, I will be a returning guest there! Lovely hotel!
A wee stairs to climb with the luggage, but it's not a biggie. Just be aware, and the help is always there if needed.

Spacious room and bathroom. Good location.
But dated

easy to check in. The room was quite large I thought. Good tv channels. I was super sick with stomach flu and was a good place to be. Breakfast was delightful.
A little windy to get to rooms but all good.

Great location for distillery tours and bars, had evening meal and breakfast which was great, got exactly what we paid for and very happy with it too, would stay again.

Nice hotel in the heart of Campbeltown within easy walking distance of pubs, distilleries, etc. Staff very nice and rooms comfortable if a bit dated. Price was probably a bit more than I'd usually pay for a hotel of this standard, but compared to everywhere else in Campbeltown seemed reasonable, so overall good value in a relatively expensive area. Free cooked breakfast included with room was a bonus.
Shower (and water pressure in bathroom in general) a bit hit and miss, but got there with a bit of fiddling with controls.

Hotel needs updating and not good value for the price breakfast was not good needs more choice however the staff were great
Needs refurbished

All staff were helpful, bright, and cheerful .
We had a problem which was out of our control and caused issues with our booking . This was dealt with quickly and with no major issues.
The owner went above and beyond to help.
Food was excellent and very reasonably priced.

Great location and fantastic breakfast.
The staff in the morning were warm and friendly which could not be said about the evening staff. Rooms are very dated, mattress was poor quality and bathroom products almost non existent. They charge the same as the superior hotels in the same area.

Hotel very old and damp smells

Breakfast was great. Plenty of choice.
Excellent location for us. 4 minute walk to where we needed to be. Small carpark at back of hotel.
The room we had number 5 was at the front of hotel very noisy and the door to reception area would bang every time someone entered and exited!! Meant a disturbed sleep. The other room number 3 was fine.

Everything of service .

Superb location with very helpful staff. Good breakfast.
It is a little worn now and the beds were very squeaky!!

The Hotel is situated in a great location in the middle of the town.

Shower didnt work

The disposition of the bedroom was a little strange - desk but no electrical plug, seat in corner with bag stand.
Whilst the shower worked fine, I find the smallish bath/shower combination a bit old fashioned.

Staff were really friendly and helpful had an evening meal and breakfast in the morning which both were very good.. large car park to the rear of property so my motorcycle was out of sight and secure, highly recommended would definitely stay again next time I'm up this way..
If I had to be picky the place could benefit from being modernised, but to be honest that's just my opinion..

Location
Shower’s pressure is very low and the room smells like body odour.

Bacon over cooked and dried out

The quaint hotel is quite centrally placed in Campbeltown and easily reached by bus or car. Staff was friendly, check-in was fast. Covid protection was mostly observed. Room had a kettle and tea. We used it as a base for hiking the southern part of the Kintyre Way.
The rooms are very dated. Our room featured carpets everywhere including the bathroom on a strange raised floor, badly insulating windows facing a noisy street, a saggy mattress, and bed from the last century. Floor too was noisy and squeaky. Furniture almost falling apart.
3.9
Room was basic but suited what we needed. Staff were so accommodating and friendly, central to everything, dinner options were great, only negative was breakfast options poor if you are a vegetarian or vegan, nothing really to eat.
Will deffo book again next time we are going to Campbeltown.

Okay, so it was late. I was tired, and I thought I was booking the Royal Hotel in Campbelltown. And even believed this, until after I pulled up outside, then went for a walk. During this walk, I came upon the Argyll Arms Hotel. I checked my phone, and found that I was parked outside, and worse still, I had booked into the wrong hotel. Being a canny Scotsman, I like to look after the coffers but not to the detriment of my comfort.
I checked in and was greeted by a lovely (Polish/Eastern European?) lady receptionist who was brilliant. So nice, professional, polite and very welcoming. She explained that there was a car park for the hotel, which I was relived about as I didn't want to park the car on the street.
The room was large with a large bathroom and over-bath shower. A double bed in the middle of the room, split the door to the built-in wardrobe and toilet. Nice enough, of not bland bedroom,, but I felt that I have booked into the 1980's!
Living in England, I am not used to this ongoing "Scottish" facemask policy which we scrapped in England, many, many weeks ago. Again, the wonderful receptionist came to my rescue with a smile - and a spare mask!
I had a (very scuffed) table on which to rest my laptop, and write this review.
The bedroom and en-suite bathroom were a good size, clean, but a little bland.
The breakfast menu was quite limited. Although tasty, quick and hot. The servery team were very efficient and professional. Probably needed some music in the breakfast area as it is a large room, which every crunch of my toast seem to vibrate.

Very friendly and helpful staff.
Big breakfast and good value evening meals.
Huge room worth the little extra cost with plenty of hot water for bath/shower and heating.
