Beautifully clean , excelently equipped, beds very comfortable, nice welcome tray and milk in the fridge very thoughtful..
Our arrival was delayed because of a road traffic accident and sadly I didn't have telephone contact details for our host so I couldn't let her know but she was very inderstanding when we arrived.

Very close to Rutland water. Loads to do at Rutland. Rural location only accessable by car. The owner kindly let us charge the car at the house (we worked out and paid for the electricity used). I was pleased to find there is a freezer in the kitchen. There were lots of kitchen utensils which made cooking easy.

The property is easy to find just off the A1 ideally placed for visiting Rutland Water, Burghley House, Oakham etc. We arrived around 6pm, the heating was on, the cottage was immaculately clean and had all you needed for a very comfortable stay. Gill the host checked we were Ok and was available if we had any issues, we didnt. The cottage is also next door to the Jackson Stops Inn who do very good food. I thoroughly recommend Pantiles Cottage and would stay again

We picked the cottage for location, accommodation and price. We had a two night break either side of a funeral. Would certainly consider again in happier circumstances. We were unfortunately not able to sample the menu at pub next door due to timing, perhaps next time! Thank you Gill.

We stayed as two couples, the place provided plenty of space for us, and the two en-suites were great to have our own privacy. Large kitchen and social areas. We greatly enjoyed the games that are there to use, nice touch. Great stay.

Was ideal for our stay as one of the bedrooms is ground floor, with an en-suite, perfect for the seniors. Good base to explore from.

This was an ideal location for meeting up with friends staying at Rutland Caravan Park for the Tandem Club Rally. The roads were very quite for cycling and the countryside was beautiful.

Pantiles Cottage was the perfect 'half-way house' to spend a lovely weekend with our friends from Wales. Everything about the cottage was exactly as we expected, and with a fantastic peaceful location right next door to a great Pub, we could not have been happier. Definitely a 10 out of 10 for the cottage and to Gill the owner for providing a wonderful holiday retreat. We are already planning on a return visit next year.

Lovely property in a lovely area
Quiet, clean and well laid out property in a lovely little village. Fabulous food at the pub next door and only 5 miles from Rutland water where we spent 2 days cycling, playing mini golf and enjoying the beach and nature. Gill was a very welcoming host. We would love to return.

Great house in excellent location
A warm welcome from Gill kicked off our little break.
The property is well described in the listing, everything we needed ( and more) was provided. The welcome pack is bursting with ideas for places to visit, walks to do as well as usual information about the house and the areas which are within easy reach.
We were super comfortable, spending days out exploring and evenings in relaxing.
We leave content and refreshed.
Many thanks to Gill, a great host who left us to get on with it but was reassuringly to hand should we need anything...we didn't because she had thought of everything!

Perfect short break with dog !
The cottage was better than we had hoped , certainly roomy and as clean as reviews had said. Very handy from the A1 We drive in to Cambridge for a great days exploring but hadn’t time to see more local sights on this occasion. Very helpful owners. Very useful tap and hose outside which was great for the very muddy dog and our boots. Milk was handy too

Comfort in the Countryside
We needed an easily accessible rental property for the weekend of our son’s wedding in nearby Oakham and Stamford. Originally we had planned for elderly mother to stay with us (hence access) and ground floor bedroom and en suite shower room would have been perfect. As she was too ill to join us we shared with younger family members and enjoyed the comfort and hospitality. Will stay here again for sure!

We didn’t want to leave
Pantiles is a lovely cottage in a great location. It has everything you need, impeccably clean and the welcoming hosts are nearby if needed. It is in a very pretty village and only a short drive to Rutland Water and about 15-20 mins drive to the beautiful towns of Stamford & Oakham. We will definitely be back.

Great place for visiting Rutlans
Excellent from start to finish. The owners were very helpful and accommodating. The cottage had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Lovely gardens which we were invited to use as well as a BBQ. The independent pub next door was a bonus and the food and service excellent.
We’d definitely come back.

Fantastic homely place to stay.
Owners we’re very helpful no problems with my 6 month ld puppy staying there, however I did take her cage with me for sleeping in, plenty of places to dog walk. Not a fenced off garden but Jill did provide a screw in garden lead so you can sit in the garden. Very nice place to stay and had a lovely meal in the Jackson stop pub next door
Highly recommend staying there and would definitely stay again.

a wonderful find
we all enjoyed our stay at The Pantiles Cottage. Our daughter had her little dog with her and he had a great time in the nearbye woods. The cottage was perfect in every way. The owners were most helpful. We shall certainly stay again. The pub next door is worth a visit. Food and staff first class.

V comfy, pet-friendly cottage in lovely, quiet spot, with great pub
Stayed three nights and thoroughly enjoyed it. Very large, comfy bed, spick and span ensuite, well-equipped kitchen, easy-to-access wifi, convenient parking, etc. Pretty village setting and only a couple of hundred yards to a new woodland area (George Henry Woods) for stretching the dog's legs. Also, virtually next door to a great, dog-friendly pub (Jackson Stops Country Inn) serving lovely food and local beer (in the garden during our stay in Covid-regs April) but absolutely no sound or disturbance from it at Pantiles. We'd come again!

Short COVID 19 escape!
Delightful cottage. Managed to easily get wheelchair visitor in and ideal as has ground floor bedroom and bathroom if needed. Gravel driveway might be problem leaving in chair but easy access from car to house over paving slab driveway at top. Stunning garden with wonderful welcome from owners. Immaculate and faultless. Thank you.

Lovely stay in a lovely cottage
Arrived Friday afternoon. The cottage is beautiful built with lovely original stone and has many original features outside and in. The key was in the door as explained by Gill before we arrived. Opened the door and we both started smiling. We had chosen a great place to stay. Clean, cosy and roomy. Felt reassured by the level of cleanliness during the current situation. All rooms a good size. En suite shower room was lovely with a great shower. We felt very relaxed from the get go. Gill popped by to introduce herself and to say hello (she popped by as we were leaving too which was nice). Cottage is very well equipped, washing machine, dishwasher, good sized TV and a well equipped kitchen.
We both slept really well. I can't comment on the upstairs rooms as we stayed in the bedroom on the ground floor but we did have a look and the room was equally big and cosy.
The only downside was we didn't stay long enough. We will put this right as we are going to come to back with friends.

The cottage is very comfortable and had everything we needed. A mirror in the upstairs bedroom would be nice.

A wonderful cottage in an ideal location.
The newly refurbished cottage is well equipped and presented with 2 large double bedrooms each with modern ensuite, a well equipped kitchen and well furnished dining area and lounge with TV and good internet access. I have used holiday rentals on many occasions in the past few years and found Pantiles Cottage to easily be amongst the best. The location is superb in a lovely quiet and peaceful village in Rutland. The Jackson Stops Country Inn next door is popular and friendly with excellent food and we did have very good evening meals there some 5 times during our stay. The Cottage is well placed to visit the local attractions of Rutland as well as areas further away in neighbouring counties with a variety of NT and Historic Houses and RHS Gardens within easy reach. We did have a wonderful stay in this cottage for some 8 days and enjoyed the comfort and facilities. The Owners Gill and Greg are welcoming to their visitors and have certainly done an excellent job with the cottage. I recommend this cottage highly and hope I will be able to return for another stay next year. It is difficult to beat the location.
