Helpful, welcoming staff. Comfy bed, hot strong shower, great food, private terrace with fabulous views. Fridge in the room.
Better cereals and more choice for breakfast would be appreciated.
No coffee/tea making facilities.

Nothing at all good about this place
Mold on the wall, a light that flickers all through the night, horrible breakfast. Run down sleezy dirty old hotel or whatever this was meant to be.
Don't let the pictures fool you, they were probably made when the place was built 30 years ago...

we were searching for a remote settlement but still expected some quality giving the price. the room was a good size with a very clean bedlinen. Views over the village was nice.
It was heavily raining when we arrived and around 7-8 degrees celsius and it was a blast to see that we could warm the room with the AC.
Having a bottle of water in the room from the house was a nice touch.
Furniture is pretty old and obsolated and the overall surroundings during the off season seemed pretty unmantained. however, what was the most frustrating situation for us was that we could not find any place open to have a meal. we ended up buying some groceries from a small market in the village and ate in the room as the receptionist informed us the restaurant will open only at 9PM (yes, in the night, you read that right!). so if you are planning on visiting during off season and in week days, either avoid this small village or bring food from a supermarket!
price is HUGE for a pueblo like this and obviously not worth it.
ps: we have visited beginning of March

It was a lovely secluded rural hotel, in real Spain.
The road from the hotel down to the south coast was a little treacherous!

The hotel is in a good location on the edge of the lovely white village of Algar, good for exploring the beautiful Sierra de Cadiz. It has a nice swimming pool, a decent restaurant and bar, and a pretty terrace for dining outside.
The bed was really uncomfortable, with an old spring mattress and a pillow like the trunk of a tree. Some investment in new bedding would make a world of difference.
We booked half-board as we had heard good things about the restaurant. We were given a menu which looked delicious, and decided what we wanted. But then another waiter arrived and said we had to choose from a different menu for half-board guests, which was nothing like as appetising. I pointed out that we had paid an extra €50 for an evening meal, and we just wanted two steaks and a salad from the a la carte menu, which came to €46. We got our way in the end and the steaks were excellent, but the waiter wasn’t happy. I won’t make the mistake of booking half-board again.
