Le confort de la chambre, le personnel très sympathique et accueillant, le repas gastronomique du restaurant.
Je ne sais vraiment pas quoi reprocher !

The whole place was a joy, with very helpful & friendly staff. We had a stunning room, for which the listing photos don't convey the high quality at all. The room, bed, sofa, balcony & bathroom were all perfect. The rooftop was also great, with both stunning pool & sauna being excellent in addition to the many loungers/beds/relaxation spots. Snacks & drinks (order by phone from reception) were good service, but not always kept stocked (& mojito was too strong with not enough mint or ice). The pool bag in the room with sauna/bath towels was really helpful & made it really enjoyable to go to the pool. We didn't try the basement one. Dinner was very good at Schlossberg in the same building & breakfast buffet was luxuriously excellent, with a separate smaller Murgstube room to eat in that was a bit quieter. We went for a nice walk that still got deep into the forest, by walking up the hill across the rail line, behind the hotel.
There was quite a delay in service in both the restaurant (Schlossberg, dinner) & bar (although that was unlucky as the keg needed changing), which together sapped the energy from our evening (roughly 90 minutes extra in the restaurant & 30 in the bar, just spent waiting more than we should have). Still, we were told it was unusual & the staff themselves were very friendly, including a free drink whilst waiting for the beer.

We were visiting the Sackmann for the second time to eat in the 2star Michelin restaurant
I booked a superior double room as we had stayed in one previously- the room we stayed in before was spacious with a modern bathroom and a balcony overlooking the river. On arrival at the hotel - which is like a building site as there is a huge extension being built on what was the car park (now only enough parking for about 10 cars) - we were given the keys to our room on the third floor . On entering the room, I could not believe my eyes - the room was appalling- it was tiny and old fashioned and the bathroom looked like it was fitted out on the 70s. I would have been ashamed to give anyone this room if it was my hotel, especially such a supposedly esteemed establishment. I went straight to reception and said this was not the room I had booked - the receptionist looked at the system and said this was correct and I had been allocated the wrong room but there were no others and that I could have this room at a discount. I was not prepared to stay in this room and told her I would look for somewhere else. She then said she had another room which she showed us but this was equally as bad so we left (with another guest following us our so he could take our space in the car park as he had had to park his car elsewhere due to lack of space!). We had driven over 600kms to stay at the Sackmann and eat in their Michelin star restaurant and to be given the room we were was unforgivable. We will not be returning .
