Sehr hellhörig ... man hört einfach alles!

3 generations of our family (aged 16 to 82) have just returned from the wonderful Hotel Bahia. The style, gardens and vibe set this apart from other local hotels. The gardens and furniture also meant there were plenty of places to lounge in the heat of the day. We didn't have any bad weather, but if we had, the lounge and bar were beautifully and comfortably furnished and would be ideal to relax in. The proprietor and staff made us feel welcome, they are so friendly and helpful.
We had half board and were really impressed by the quality of the ingredients and cooking. There was a wide selection at the buffet breakfast, catering to all tastes. We so enjoyed taking our coffee onto the shade of the cool veranda after breakfast each day, glimsing the sea between the trees oppposite, which separates this hotel from the beach. During the day and evening there were plenty of spots to hang out in, and enjoy the pool and we felt very at ease, which is not always the case in hotels.
Each night we sat down to a freshly cooked 3 course meal (every day there was a different
choice of 3 starters, mains and a buffet dessert), there was also a bar area which served food near the pool and a lot of guests chose to eat there. There are plenty of other restaurants minutes away on foot with good choices.
There is a little Spa supermarket a few yards away and a bus stop just a little further that has regular easy-to-use air conditioned buses into Palma central bus station which is a few minutes walk away from a fantastic indoor market (7am-3pm, mon-sat), 'Mercat de l'Olivar', with its fresh produce, wine, tapas and oyster bar, and a short stroll down through the historic streets to the port and Cathedral.
We were leaving on a Sunday afternoon so booked a table at the bar the day we left and so were lucky enough to enjoy a fantastic lunch with good live jazz music, which seems to be quite a draw on Sunday afternoons (for good reason).
Some other people may feel this hasn't got the most modern decor, but for us this was the attraction. We loved the decor and it all added to the feel, which is cool and relaxed rather than fussy.
Some rooms have better views than others and outside space varies, but we found that when we booked the hotel staff happily took on board our requests about views and space and ensured we had all our needs met.

My single room was delightful, with a small double bed and a terrace looking out over the garden

Felt very at home here, bedrooms and public rooms great, fridges in rooms, bar prices good, breakfast good choice and quality, staff extremely helpful, grounds are beautiful
The soap and shampoo dispensers are rubbish, we ended up going to Spar and buying some shampoo

The hotel is lovely. If you like a property with character and laid back holiday, it is perfect. Close to the beach, restaurants, and shopping. The food in the hotel is excellent. Will definitely go back again.

Hacienda style feel to the whole hotel, with lush gardens and very freindly staff and excellent breakfast
2.5 / 5.0
Our room was in a separate building and overlooking the bar/restaurant which was noisy in the evening. From the second night we were moved to a quieter room which we appreciated.
4.5 / 5.0
The only issue are the single glass windows which doesn't stop the noise from the street just accross the yard.

really friendly & helpful staff. Just a short overnight stay on my bike tour but the hotel delivered.
No tea/coffee making facilities in the room

The traditional building and decor were beautiful as were the surrounding gardens and enticing pool area. We felt at home and enjoyed seeing and meeting the very cordial owner,
Joan and his friendly staff.
The lunch/dinner service could have been faster/better. Even at quiet times it was sometimes very slow.

The building was beautiful traditional in architecture, and inside the decor and art work. The breakfast was great too. The friendly staff… everything was wonderful. A unique hotel that made you feel incredibly welcome. Great too, if you have children.
Nothing… it was perfect for us.

We have visited this hotel Before and liked it very much then. Family run, friendly owner and staff
The only slight criticism is that the the room could have been updated a little

The pool was amazing, very lovely. The staff was friendly, engaged and helpful and the rooms were cleaned every day (bed linen and towels were changed daily as well).
The room itself was quite small, the mattreses were very hard and is was noisy due to the fact that our room (301) was next to the facility room and the staircase plus the doors are wooden and loudly slammed into the frame. Most of the furniture were rather old, the inside of the hotel does not appear very modern. The hotel is located just across the street from the beach. Peguera itself is quite boring and you will mostly see elderly people, but it has very good bus connections to Palma and many other places.

Staff were really friendly, room was lovely, great for the 4 night stay, pool area fabulous, really close to main street but far enough away not to hear it. Lovely outlook on to beautiful gardens and tree line view. Booked again for October.
Shower was a bit of a faff but nothing that would put me off booking again. Air-con didn't seem to work but again the times I go are out of main season.

comfortable hotel featuring beautiful traditional Spanish design with amazing artwork and lovely gardens

Breakfast - very good, fresh orange juice is not usual in 4* hotels .
Dinner - 3 courses - was of high quality !
Location - excellent, pool and garden very nice.
Staff - friendly and helpfull.
The service (for dinner) in the restaurant was somehow confusing and badly organized - waiting time was above average.

The building itself is very beautiful in the typical Spanish architecture. Endless hot water in the bathrooms, good WIFI, beautiful outside pool (unfortunately not heated and therefore too cold to bath). Very clean rooms and very friendly cleaning ladies. Nice bar.
Indoor pool and sauna were closed which was not announced, no apologies from the staff. It was the criterium for us when deciding to book this hotel as we were traveling with children. No parking lots available. A lot of stairs and no elevators (uncomfortable with a stroller), boring breakfast buffet, bad coffee, rooms are outworn, towels of bad quality, very noisy street in front (it's not a promenade, it has a lot of traffic), rooms are poorly soundproofed. Outdoor pool was too cold to use in October. No drinking water available at the room. Poor comfort at the rooms. Staff is not really friendly nor helpful (except cleaning ladies).
