Nice one bedroom, kitchen, living room apartment within a very short walk to everything in Banner Elk. Very clean, well appointed, had everything we needed for a quiet weekend for the two of us.

lovely little mountain getaway! walking distance to great restaurants!

The place was roomy and comfortable. I was concerned because the pictures looked like two different places. The bedroom and bathroom have been redone. The living room and kitchen were rustic but very clean. The town is walkable from Banner Views. We walked the first two days but the hill is steep. We decided to drive after the second time up the hill. The water in shower was hot! Which I appreciated. The sofa in the living room was a sleeper sofa. My friend said she slept great on it.
The air conditioning was a window unit in the living room. We had a great view of the fireworks over Sugar Mountain for the Fourth. I would stay here again.

Everything was great… people upstairs were a little loud. We didn’t realize that we would be downstairs and someone would be upstairs!! Great location… very close to shops and restaurants. We would definitely recommend

Stayed for 2 nights and very much enjoyed the cabin. Location was perfect! Easy walk to shops and restaurants in addition to Lees-McRae. Conveniently located in between Sugar and Beech Mountains but also a quick drive to Boone and Bowling Rock! Great spot!

This property is in the PERFECT location. You can easily walk to restaurants in minutes (breakfast/lunch/dinner). There is also a great park that is in easy walking distance. The property is very dog friendly. About a 10 minute drive to Beech Mountain as well. Host was very communicative.
The only minor con I would say is if there are people in the upstairs unit you can hear them walking and sometimes talking. Otherwise, everything else was perfect.

Brad is a great host. He stays involved enough to help but let's you feel like it's yours while ur there. He's was prompt to answer any questions or favors right away! Place is perfect for 1-2 adults. w a pull out sofa if you had a kid or two as well. Great location in a beautiful ski town. I walked to dinner in less than 3 minutes both times i ate out!

The rental has wood panel walls with tongue and groove pine roof. It looks updated recently. This gave it the cabin feel. The front patio has a good size metal table and chairs to play games. The night view of the city is nice. The unit is nicely furnished and had everything we needed. The bed had a thick pad on it. On the negative side, the central heat made a medium loud clicking sound that kept waking me up. The unit is only a block away from down town. There are great restaurants there.

This property was not only clean, but cute as a button. We enjoyed it so much, the location to downtown Banner Elk was amazing. We got up early and had a wonderful view of the downtown with all the Christmas lights. It reminded us of Mayberry RFD. So peaceful and picturesque! Plan to return in the spring. Just can't beat it and we have looked!

Very clean, had everything we needed, and a great location to mountains for hiking, and restaurants for dinner and drinks for after.

My husband and I stayed here as we explored Banner Elk and surrounding areas for 3 days with our pups. The home was clean and had the appropriate necessities! Brad was communicative with unexpected things, and was helpful in providing restaurant recommendations! Would love to stay here again when we come back to the area - our stay wasn’t long enough!

Pros - great location to banner elk downtown and hiking. Great views.
Cons - I wish I would have read the reviews more clearly, we left after night 1. This is listed as a “lower level condo” but I was not aware of how noisy the upstairs neighbors would be. We stayed here because it allowed our dog and we wanted to hike early in the morning. We ended up hearing the upstairs neighbors blast music off the balcony until 10pm and then continued hearing very loud footsteps right above the bedroom for quite a while more along with things being dropped loudly on the floor. The bed is VERY firm, we couldn’t sleep on it, and the pull out mattress is about 3 inches so you have bars sticking into your back. We slept for maybe 3 hours. We left first thing in the morning and had to cancel the rest of our trip.
Unfortunately my phone barely had service in that area so I could not message the host until the next morning after we left. I was very polite about our issues and was met with a less than sympathetic response about how if I let them know when it was happening they could have contacted the neighbors. Overall, disappointed and would not stay again.

The cabin was smaller than it appeared on the pictures but it was cozy and welcoming. We would recommend it except for one thing. The beds were really uncomfortable. We tried both, hoping that one would be good but I'm afraid they were equally as bad. I think they should buy new ones if they want more people to stay. Everything else was fine but when you can't get a good nights sleep, it spoils the experience. Thank you.

Excellent location for our brief visit. Host was promptly responsive to questions too.

Second time we stay here and it was a great stay as before. Everything that you need and contact with owner was superb.

Great location in downtown Banner Elk! Everything we needed for a relaxing weekend getaway to celebrate a birthday and our baby moon.

Property was clean and conveniently located between Sugar and Beech Mountain. Plenty of food and places to grab a drink within walking distance of the property. I would stay here again if available.

Perfect place for our family ski trip. Downtown is within walking distance, with plenty of places to get food and drinks, ski resorts are just a few minutes away in practically every direction, and countless places to rent equipment if needed nearby. We'll definitely stay here again next time we plan a trip to this area.

This property is in the lower part of a house that is also rented on VRBO. The lower half was comfortable to accommodate 2 adults and we chose it because it also allowed for dogs and because it has a great location within walking distance to all that Banner Elk has to offer. During our stay, there were renters above us in the main part of the house. As others have noted, you will hear the noise from their footsteps above.
Not a major deal unless the renters above have two young kids that have dreams of being part of the STOMP dance team, which the ones staying while we were there apparently had. The thermostat for entire house also seems to be in the upper part of the house, so when they set it to rather warm, the lower level was also quite warm.

This property was the perfect place for our short ski trip. We had everything we needed to feel comfortable while there. We would definitely book the property again!

This home was very cozy and the location was great. I wasn’t aware that it was a basement apartment and the people above were very noisy but overall it was fine. Maybe I missed that in the listing???

My husband, myself and our dog Tut fully enjoyed our stay here!
We went snowboarding at Sugar, which was a short, easy drive away.
Banner Elk is a cute town and has a lot to offer. Everything was an easy walk away. There’s a great park across the street where we walked with Tut. The porch was great, you can see the top of Sugar from it.
The inside was cozy and comfortable. Lots of space to store things.
There are two heaters in the living room, we used one of them as it was easy to figure out. Not sure if the large one worked, but we didn’t need it.
The bed was a very comfortable foam mattress. There were plenty of linens if needed, as well as extra towels available.
We brought some cookware with us which helped, there wasn’t a large pan just a small one. But seemed to have everything else needed for cooking.
Check in and out was easy breezy.
