About this villa rental
Set above a valley in the heart of Chianti, Macia Viva’s views make this private, stone-built villa very special. The manicured gardens open out to vine-clad hillsides and the valley beyond, with a perfect panorama offered by almost every room in the house. This two-bedroom, multi-level villa is a good choice for a small family and, with a separate kitchenette and bathrooms for both bedrooms, is also ideal for couples and friends. Terracotta tiles and wooden beams, a mellow colour scheme and stylish furnishings add sumptuous warmth, while picture windows keep rooms bright and airy.
The spacious and comfortable open-plan lounge-diner with adjoining kitchen opens onto a furnished front terrace and a second side terrace with an unusual L-shaped private pool. Both of these vantage points offer uninterrupted views across the hills and vineyards and you will doubtless seek them out for relaxation and al fresco dining. But there will be times when you’ll fancy a change of scene; Macia Viva is just outside Castellina, one of the main Chianti towns, with its choice of bars and restaurants, and an easy drive to Siena and Florence, both less than an hour away.

The views were beyond compare! Proximity to Castellina in Chianti was wonderful and the management team were responsive to a few issues. My main comment would be, especially considering the rental cost, that the furniture and kitchen supplies (dishes etc) needs upgrading and the quality of the beds/linens should be improved. Overall however, it was a lovely stay! Grazie.

Lovely location and villa was excellent but needed a bit more care & attention. No welcome pack no instructions or suggestions on where to go what to see where to shop. The pool was pretty filthy as the weather was bad and no one cleaned it till last day. Power cut meant we were stuck outside in the rain for an hour and while the property team helped they left it all the the poor cleaner. Broken window broken furniture not enough chairs outside. Tiny things and we had a lovely stay but for the high rental fee I expected more attention to detail.
