About this house rental
A spacious link-detached chalet house situated in a quiet cul-de-sac within level walking distance of the town centre and with distant sea views from the first floor bedrooms. With three bedrooms and three bathrooms, a south facing private garden and driveway parking, High View ticks lots of boxes.
With light and airy adaptable accommodation, and decor with a hint of a seaside theme, High View is a delightful coastal property, perfect for families, friends and couples who are looking for a comfortable and convenient North Norfolk base. On the ground floor is a dual aspect sitting room with dining area, and connecting doors into a sunny conservatory which overlooks and opens into the garden. The well-equipped kitchen and useful adjoining utility has a side door leading into the garden. A twin bedroom with adjoining bathroom, with bath and shower option complete the downstairs. Up the stairs (note the coastal maps as you go up!) are two double bedrooms, both with en-suite shower rooms and large picture windows with a lovely view across the rooftops to the sea. At full tide you can see the pretty sailing boats go back and forth.
From High View you are just a ten minute walk from Staithe Street, the centre of this ever popular seaside town, where you will find an array of independent shops, cafes and some great gastro pubs. Walk down to the bottom of Staithe Street and you arrive at the bustling, picturesque quay. If you are feeling energetic, and enjoy walking, you can reach Wells beach in another fifteen minutes (or quicker if you are super fit). It's well worth the effort - framed by pinewoods and colourful beach huts, this is one of the most stunning beaches you will see. Wells-next-the-Sea has something for everyone, at any time of year and whatever your age. And please don't leave without trying a spot of crabbing from the quay, and enjoying some of the freshest fish and chips around.
Additional Information:
Two well-behaved dogs welcome, for a small additional charge.
Travel cot and high chair provided on request.
All duvets provided are synthetic and all pillows provided are feather.
Restricted head height in en-suite bathroom.
Please note: The wood-burning stove is not in use until further notice.

Fantastic stay - home from home
Great week spent in this wonderful property. Everything you could want for the perfect stay. Very well equipped and comfortable. in a quiet location but close to the town and the quay with a five minute walk. Lovely enclosed garden great for the dog and a bonus to see the sea from some of the windows. Lovely bright property and nice to have the conservatory to sit in when the weather was bright but not warm enough to sit outside. Upstairs bedroom and ensuites good size and very comfortable. Beds so comfortable. Only slight point was bedroom downstairs was very small and would perhaps be better suited to one adult or two children rather than two adults. Kitchen had everything you needed. Would definitely stay here again.

Lovely Easter break at High View
We enjoyed a lovely Easter week at High View. It’s in a great location just a few minutes walk from the town & more like 30-40 mins walk from Wells & Holkham beaches & pine forest.
The good sized enclosed garden was a real plus for our miniature Schnauzers. The house itself is well equipped & bright & sunny. Having 3 bathrooms was great for us & our 2 adult sons.
It was our first time in Norfolk & we enjoyed staying in Wells - it’s beaches & the town itself. We also loved the charming nearby town of Holt which was full of colourful, independent shops.
If we return to the area we’d happily book High View again.

A perfect holiday home
High view had everything we needed for a long weekend away, the layout worked really well for us with myself and parents having a double ensuite room each and my teenage sons sharing a twin room (for one night of the weekend) next to the main bathroom. The property was close to amenities and the quay, which was good for my parents who struggle to walk too far. The house is down a quiet side street, has a lovely garden and sunny conservatory. A good house for a family of 4 or 6.

High view is excellently located with great off street parking & some nice touches such as the welcome pack of milk, tea, shortbread etc, and 3 good sized bedrooms.
There were a few niggles in the house which we noticed compared to other homes we've stayed at in the area. None spoilt our holiday or warranted norfolk hideaways to be contacted, but these things were noticeable: the door on the 2nd bedroom didn't close properly- not ideal when 2 families were staying. Only 1 x bath towel per person was provided & no tumble dryer to wash/dry these. This wasn't great when we were staying for 1 week with no opportunity for a fresh towel. The TV is free view only , every other house we've stayed at has a smart TV, essential with kids! A dvd player was provided, but no dvds. Whilst there are 3 bathrooms, only 1 person can shower at a time, otherwise the water temp & pressure drops too much for the others to be useable.
Like I say, none of these were big enough problems to ask for someone to come & fix, but were noticeable during our stay. It felt like it was just missing those finishing touches.
Overall a great holiday in a great location.

I replied privately to Norfolk Hideaways
I have not received any response from them!
WHY is there a character minimum for a reply?
That is just ridiculous!

Good points: This house is very well-presented and was spotlessly clean on arrival. Lots of art on the walls, excellent amount of utensils, pots, pans, cooking items, cups, plates etc. The cleaning company left a bag with bin bags, dishwasher tablets and cloths and a nice packet of cookies. There was milk in the fridge and toilet rolls in every bathroom. Lovely garden and conservatory, TV was modern and could be moved around to see from all angles. Good wi-fi signal, games shelf and even binoculars. The house is an easy walk to the town and beach, 10 minutes to the shops. There is a Co-op 5 minutes drive away which was very good. Quiet road. House is well-decorated and very clean.
Not so good points: The two upstairs double bedrooms had very uncomfortable beds, to the point where we had very poor sleep and sore backs. Shower in one room barely worked, first day it was boiling hot then freezing cold. Second day did not come on at all just made loud noise. Third day only worked if the person downstairs was not using their shower. We could not figure out how to get the heating to work at all, so it was very cold in the house at times, we had to wear jumpers. Tried to follow instructions given but they made no sense. I finally called Norfolk Hideaways on our 4th day, who called the owner. They explained what to do which was nothing like the instructions shown at the house. I was then told to get off the phone as it was for emergencies only, which I thought was quite rude and I was unable to explain any other problems- shower etc. The sofa is unfortunately completely caved in on one end, we got back ache from this too and had to take turns sitting on it. When I'm spending £750 for less than 4 days stay (can't arrive before 4pm on Monday, have to leave by 10am on Friday) I at least expect a comfortable bed, sofa and warm shower. We were expected to strip the beds and towels, put everything back, empty bins etc on Friday before leaving. Not sure why this would need to be done before 10am really.
If these issues were fixed it would be a lovely house and I would recommend staying here. It just needs some checking over and a new sofa. We did have a good few days but felt uncomfortable, which was a shame.

Great location, nice house
The house was in a wonderful location and was very well presented and equipped. There was a small welcome pack and soap, washing up liquids and dishwasher tablets which was very much appreciated. It was very clean and we really enjoyed our stay. The garden was very nice and a good size and secure for our dog. We were a party of 4 adults and a Labrador so the house was comfortably big enough. They only thing we would say is, we think it would have been a tight squeeze for 6 adults.
Absolutely loved Wells and we would love to come back.

One of the best!
Lovely house in Wells-next-the-Sea. Excellently positioned in Wells-next-the-Sea. Quiet location and away from the hustle and bustle of the quay / Staithe street, but still only a 5 minute walk away from it all. The house is clean, bright, homely and is amazing to have a larger garden and drive for 3 cars. We’ve been holidaying in Wells for many years but can say this is by far the best property we’ve stayed at. Would highly recommend and will definitely be returning.

Lovely stay at highview
We stayed at highview as a family of 3 plus grandparents. We all had a lovely stay. Highview is so homely and it was perfect for us! The location is great, 5 mins from the Quay in one direction and the same to Buttlands in the other. Would highly recommend

Excellent
Excellent property: high standard of cleanliness, very stylish and comfortable; in very good condition. Great customer service from Norfolk Hideaways. Good value for money though walk to the centre slightly longer than we'd have liked.
