Thoroughly enjoyed the peaceful babbling brook, the hiking trail that went just behind the back yard, roasting S’mores in the beautiful fire pit. Was great to start the day with an amazing coffee bar. Kudos to the cleaning crew for a spotless house!

We had a great time at this property. The chalet plus cottage were perfect for a large crowd. The inside was roomy and comfortable, but the outdoor features were exceptional; it had everything you would want for a mountain getaway with the amazing decks, fire pit, and hiking trails right off the property. The young and old all had a great time!

The chalet and cottage were beautiful and the nature surrounding it as well! We had three generations together for a family wedding & we enjoyed being together! A couple things to note that didn't negatively affect our stay but would be good for others to know ahead of time: the trip up the mountain could be tricky unless you are paying close attention. The roads are narrow and winding. It's part of the beauty of this area but also good to know. Also, this would not be the property for anyone who needs handicap accessibility. There are levels of stairs to get to the main property and additional ones to get to the cottage. Only two of the bedrooms don't require going up & down very narrow and winding staircases. It's the perfect property for those without mobility considerations. As it was, only two of the rooms were able to be accessed on the main floor with the rest requiring the staircase use. That being said, we made it work and had a great time! The chalet and cottage were beautiful and very comfortable!

Family vacation and had a wonderful time. Host was VERY responsive to texts/emails. Property was as described with easy access to Upper Pond Creek Trail adjacent to back yard. Dining was a short drive away and very convenient to the location.
Had a snafu after we left that Host resolved quickly and easily to get my problem fixed, even though it was my own fault 100%. (left an empty suitcase behind, Host helped to get it to a friend of mine who lives locally to the property).

Lovely home and property. Having the hiking trail and creek so close was enjoyable. Fantastic decks for gathering. Small indoor gathering space, narrow stairwells, and narrow one-way kitchen. Good to be aware of so as to plan. We made many wonderful memories and had great visit.

Beautiful house and property well provisioned for a good time. Fire pit next to stream and hot tub were popular hangouts. Four generations under one roof with something for everyone.

The sound of the mountain stream running through the backyard lulled us to sleep. The beautiful sight of deer running through the backyard was amazing. It was gorgeous in December and we know it has to be fabulous in the spring/summer as well. Warmer months must be fabulous when you can dip your toes in the backyard stream. The guest cottage is a beautiful little place nestled beside the main home. The two king suites in the cottage along with their owns bathrooms make it a true pleasure. And even a mini fridge in the cottage for your added convenience.
An abundance of firewood is available for the main house and outdoor fire area. Enjoying an outdoor fire by a flowing mountain stream….along with your s’mores in hand is a special memory for all. So do not forget to bring your s’mores supplies for your stay!
And what a treat to enjoy your morning coffee in a signature “Rae Dunn” coffee mug. A thoughtful touch that’s available for a mountain guest. I came home and bought Rae Dunn coffee mugs because I loved them so much. The long dining table in the main house makes family meals memorable and enjoyable. Thanks for a family trip worth noting!

Two older cabin(s) that are showing their age but the location for hiking (not ski season) is great as 2 scenic trails go from property- plenty of kitchen, cooking items and they stocked the wood for our fires!...there are significant internet issues- think they need newer modem/routers for both cabins- couldn't watch football game using smart tv due to freezing (internet bandwidth) and in smaller cabin- internet was spotty in game room and non-existent in bedrooms...still a nice place for a large group

The home was very nice. I loved the creek that you could hear from the porch. Nice fire pit. We saw tame deer out back at least twice a day. Very beautiful

Great location. Beautiful and clean home. Well-stocked. We enjoyed having two homes next to each other so the babies could sleep peacefully in the evenings while the adults gathered in the other home.

Very tired, worn down accommodations. Broken and missing items throughout the house. Adequate at best. Nice deck. Not worth the asking price.

The babbling brook behind the cabin is amazing!! Absolutely gorgeous setting. The hot tub was too small though for a place with that many bedrooms. Glass on the doors wasn't cleaned, looked like kids with greasy hands had them all over it. Not a huge deal. Plenty of towels and extra linens. Corn hole boards were a nice surprise. No a/c in chalet. Overall a great stay!

The first day we had plumbing problems in the main bathroom. They came quickly and fixed problem right away. We loved having the tame dear all around us. We fed them and they ate out of our hands. We loved the trails. We especially loved the trail than ran by the stream. You might want to have someone look at the hot tub. Only half of the jets were working. We enjoyed the fishing in the nearby lakes. One of the boys got sick while we were there, so we had to have the other grandson sleep on the couch in cottage. There were no sheets or blankets on the fold out couch. Overall we all had a great time.

We had 17 people - 8 adults and 9 kids - in the house. The kids enjoyed playing in the creek most and the adults enjoyed sitting around the fire pit outside most. It's a pretty area!

We had an amazing weekend in the house. So much to do extremely close by, huge beautiful outdoor space and kept up amazingly! Fully recommend.

These adjoining cabins were tucked away on beautiful Beech Mountain. We had plenty of room for our family- preschool up to grandparents. The property was clean, well lit and stocked with the essentials. Check in was easy, and the owner checked in as we arrived.

Had a great stay. Great location on the creek and trail right behind the house with 8 grandkids enjoying it all. Close to the resort with places to eat. We had some questions and inquiries and the property owners were very accommodating, even though it was a holiday weekend. Would highly recommend.

The space was large enough to comfortably fit a family of 15 and our furry pups. We loved being able to bring them. We enjoyed being amongst the trees and wildlife.
We LOVED the accessibility to the hiking trails. The amount of towels and kitchen towels was perfect !!!
We hope to be back 😊

Plenty of room
We have a large family and we were all able to stay at one location. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a place for a large group! :-)

Great trip. Great memories.
Great trip. Great memories. Very relaxed family vacation. I personally enjoyed the winding roads up and down from 'town', but I guess it's understandable some wouldn't. I don't think I would want to tackle them in the Winter months. 😊
We all enjoyed the sound of the moving water from the creek and daily visits from deer. Neighbors closer than I expected, but certainly not an issue. We explored the area daily. We walked the local creek trail many times and hiked the nearby trails that were more challenging. Overall there was plenty of room for our group of 12. We spent most of our time outside on the spacious deck.
Separate cottage area was a nice option for us to get away when necessary.
Kitchen area was a bit small, but well stocked with pots, pans and utensils in drawers and cabinets that were well labeled. Beds were comfortable and most everyone slept well.
There were problems with televisions and very spotty Internet, but I did not take a vacation to the mountains to stare at screens. Our family thoroughly enjoyed our time together and very appreciative of the opportunity to meet at this well appointed cabin layout.

family vacation in the mountains
The property was beautiful with plenty of outdoor spaces for the children to explore. The two chalets worked out great for a large family gathering. We would definitely stay here again.

Great House for a Big Family!
The house was just what we needed for our annual family trip. It gave folks individual space as well as spaces to gather together. The area around the house was great, several spaces to sit outside and enjoy the natural surroundings. The house was also convenient to everything we wanted to do. The roads were pretty curvy and steep, so I would certainly reiterate folks' warnings about accessing the area in winter, but it was lovely when we were there in summer.

Beautiful Mountain Family Getaway
Our family, comprised of 4 generations, enjoyed 4 days at this property. There are many bedrooms and bed configurations that allowed everyone to feel comfortable. The main house is cozy, and although the kitchen is small, it is well equipped. Also, know that the stairs are very narrow and are not recommended for older adults or those with mobility issues. We let the older adults stay on the main level so it wasn’t a problem for us. The separate cottage was perfect for the adults who prefer a little space from the rest of the group. We all enjoyed the trail directly behind the house and the creek was a huge hit with our grandchildren! Communication with the owner was excellent and the property is complete with everything you need for your stay. Be sure to stop at the Food Lion in Banner Elk on your way in for groceries. The only close place on Beech is Fred’s General Store. It’s great for a few things, but not a full service grocery. We had a great time and recommend this home.

Perfect for multiple families
We stayed at the Creekside Chalet and Cottage for a long weekend ski trip. The location was less than a mile from Beech Ski Resort which made it super easy to get back and forth. The kitchen was well stocked and the home was clean. The hot tub was perfect after a long day of skiing. The bunk beds and twin beds in the loft were perfect for all of the kids. Note that the loft opens up to the living room so the parents had to stay quiet at night so as not to wake the kids sleeping there. My only complaint would be that the living area and kitchen are quite small for a large group. Due to the cold weather and snow, we did not get a chance to enjoy the creek, fire pit or hammock but I look forward to returning in another season.

Great Location!
We stayed over MKK weekend, and truly enjoyed our stay! My husband and I brought our 3 teens, plus a few friends. The chalet and cottage were the perfect set up. The fire pit out by the creek, along with the hiking/nature trail, were my favorite. I could only imagine how that properly would be in the autumn! Of course, the teens loved the Hottub best after a day of snowboarding.
The kitchen was stocked, and there was way more wood than expected. The owner was extremely responsive, although we had no issues.

Family trip
We rented in Beech Mountain as a last minute trip with extended family. The property slept way more than we needed, but it ended up working out for us! The guests before us did not clean up after themselves and the cleaning crew was overwhelmed because a few things had obviously not been cleaned : coffee grounds still in coffee pot, kids smudgy fingerprints on the sliding glass doors, toast in the oven, bag of trash on the back deck. The owner acknowledged the issue and was apologetic. Communication was always very responsive.
One thing to note for older guests- the steps to the loft and basement are very steep and bathrooms in the main cabin are on the small side. We enjoyed our stay.

Family Vacation: Plenty of Space
We enjoyed our stay here greatly. We had a large group of multiple families and there were plenty of beds. The separate cottage was great for the family with little ones, so they could rest without the noise of the older kids. The wildlife was comfortable around the home and it was fun to enjoy them each morning with coffee.

A great weekend in a beautiful location
This house was in a great location and had plenty of room for our big group. We loved the decor, and the beds were all super comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed. The owner was easy to reach and tended to whatever needs we had.
The only issue we had was the basement bathroom... past water damage made using that bathroom an issue, so we had to avoid it unless absolutely necessary.
All in all, our stay was wonderful and our family made lots of memories.

We had four generations staying and had a wonderful time. The kids absolutely loved playing in the creek in the back yard and watching the deer. Plenty of cooking utensils to make it easy preparing our memorable family meals together.

Great for large family
We enjoyed ourselves here and loved the hiking trail close by. The dining room table was big enough for our group and the outdoor seating areas were fun! The only thing we would have changed would be to have more fans available and the showers need some maintenance/update work.

Awesome property. Well decorated and stocked for all we needed. Would definitely stay here again. Only issue was with T.V in main room of cottage and the one in king bedroom. Talked to property manager and she was on it.
