No question, a perfect location for access to shops, cathedral, marina, bus/trains, pubs, eateries etc. Room could have done with a little pastel decor rather than the clinical white, just to 'warm' the appearance a little. Tea, coffee provided. bedding was crisp & clean (the most important aspect of any room) BUT mattress did suffer from the old 'worn bed springs' issue. New shower/bathroom suite fitted. The Reception staff were always on hand and most helpful when needed.
Fact is, the Bull is getting to be an old gal now (400 years of history) but at least she's still standing. So we accept her shortcomings and enjoy her historical/literary heritage while we can.
Mattress spring issue, uncomfortable.
TV not in the best place for viewing (sit on bed)
Shower water temp was a bit unpredictable
WiFi available but couldn't access it
No resident ghost

In the centre of town
Dated
3.1
Great High Street location
Hotel a little dated but no major concerns
3.1
make no mistake this is a budget hotel and looks like it in some areas. But it is on the High Street and it is friendly and clean. And it is half price of any other hotel in the area. This time we paid a little more for a suite and we had a king sized bed, a big room and even bigger ensuite bathroom a lovely free standing antique bath.
nothing, it is even opposite cafe nucleus

I liked the history of the hotel and the location
Hotel was very run down
Beg bugs in the bed
Face to face customer service was poor.

Not up to standard at all
Everything is too old
3.1
Very friendly/ helpful staff. Bed was super comfortable and a brilliant location for easy access to the Main Street of Rochester.
Nothing

The high street it was located on was beautiful
Everything. I understand its an old building but it was filthy! The main stairwell looked like it hadn't been hoovered in months, the dust in the rooms was shocking. The shower trickled out, the units on the walls didn't work, no Aircon just a little fan. Staff wernt bothered at all and didn't want to be there. Would not recommend to anyone
3.1
a very old building, with old world charm.
probably needs constant maintenance to keep running

The location of this hotel, right in the center of Rochester, was perfect.
The staff were friendly and helpful.
The room I had was fine, with a lovely view of the Guildhall.
On my arrival the electric socket for the TV wasn't working (but a member of the staff resolved this by supplying me with an extension lead)
The bed could have been a bit more comfortable
3.1
It was worth the money slept really well
Expected it to be dated in some form of way, nothing bad about the place , enjoyed the stay
3.1
Location and price. Rooms were clean, beds were comfortable, and staff were friendly.
It's needs a face-lift
3.1
Excellent price, friendly staff, great location, safe, secure, and free onsite parking was a great bonus
Needs paint, new carpets, and a general upgrade.
3.1
It's right in the town centre so everything is close by. Lots of history in the building and surrounding area and lots of little quirky shops. Beautiful views of the cathedral and castle on your doorstep
This isn't mentioned in the description but it has its own nightclub underneath which is open on Saturday nights. You will hear the thumping music till the early hours and loud drunks outside !

Location
3.1
The location is perfect, and the staff were courteous, friendly and helpful, the decor and facilities are tired and dated but perfectly serviceable which is reflected in the price, as it was £90 cheaper than the purple hotel chain much further out of town.
No bar, but many close by

Not very clean

We like the location it is in. Near to the train station and the town. Right next to the museum which is a bonus 🙂. It's a very historic hotel which is nice.
There's a lot of things we didn't like. As a hotel that is about history such as Charles Dickens and queen victoria staying in this hotel we are disappointed that you haven't kept up the cleanliness and environment standard of the hotel.
Here is a list :
. Carpets dirty and tired looking
. Floor boards feeling like they are going to fall through when walking on them.
. Damp
. Mold
. Horrible smell of smoke and damp in our room.
. wallpaper pealing off
. Rust and rot around the windows and window seel.
. Stains on bed
I think this would be a amazing and lovely bit of history of a hotel if the decoration, cleanliness, and the up keep of the hotel was sorted out.

Right in centre of Rochester and fantastic view of the cathedral.
Had to search for the hot water switch, to get hot water.
3.1
The view from the room was not much of a view. The carpet was stained and the rest of the hotel was not very clean. Not what I was expecting.

Location and value for money. The bed was really comfortable.

Great location along Rochester highstreet with free parking.the female staff are always friendly and attentive.
10am book out time was an hour or so early after a late night out in town but the staff are always brilliant.
3.1
The location of the hotel could not be better. This is a lovely hotel which if this was done up would be outstanding.
This hotel needs a good clean, even the toilet in our room had "skidmarks" up the back of the pan and tissue still in the toilet when we went into the room.
Everything needs renewing, this is dated but worse of all "dirty". carpets have not been cleaned, black mould in the tiling in the bathroom and outdated broken fittings handing off the bedroom walls. Our toilet ball valve was broken so continuously trying to fill (great noise during the nightime), bed clothing very creased, ripped, frayed and not very nice at all.
3.1
Size of the room
Location
Staff were lovely
Value for money
Very basic
Noisy in room next door (not hotels fault though!)
Decor a bit “tired” looking but fine for price of room
3.1
The staff were friendly. The room was large and clean. The bathroom was clean also and the water very hot! The location was brilliant, right on the high street. Lastly ... the price was great
The door to the hotel was incredibly hard to open/lock after hours. Windows would not stay open. The radiator was on full, with no way of turning it down
3.1
I have to say room was perfect. Great value for money. Lovely view, great bathroom and very welcoming.
