About this house rental
The house is 870 square feet, and has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom. Both bedrooms feature California King beds, and are the same size, so no friendships will implode arguing over who gets the bigger room (the "John Wayne" bedroom is actually a few inches longer, but we won't tell your friends).
The back yard is completely fenced with a fire pit, bbq, lounge chairs, and a picnic table, perfect for evening meals or morning coffee.
There is also a large, amazing Jacuzzi hot tub to relax in after a long day of hiking (please shower first!). If you have never relaxed in a hot tub underneath the starry Joshua Tree sky, then it's time to start asking yourselves some tough life questions and book this house immediately.
We spent many months renovating the house into a space that we truly love, and we are excited to share it with you!
* While this property is new on Homeaway/VRBO, we have over 150 5 star reviews on other vacation rental sites.

What an absolutely lovely little bungalow! The attention and thoughtfulness that go into creating a home away from home, is clearly a labor of love. My husband and I stayed for our wedding anniversary. I've spent many vacations in the area but he has never been able to join me due to his busy job. We loved the seclusion of the house, yet the nearness of pretty much everything. It really is perfectly located. The beds were great--It was SO nice to sleep in! We saw a great show at Pappy & Harriet's, ate at La Copine & The Copper Room, made breakfast one day and hiked in Joshua Tree, lounged in the hot tub at night and just had a wonderfully relaxing visit in all. The carport was a major plus! It kept our car cool inside and out of the sun.
All in all? I cannot think of one thing I can complain about. Bravo Josh & Don! You guys nailed it! Thank you! Xo

Our stay at Joshua Tree Forest Bungalow was wonderful. We stayed for four nights and visited Joshua Tree NP three days. The accommodations were perfect and our hosts were more than helpful with suggestions. Would stay again! The hot tub was a delight after a day of hiking!

We very much enjoyed the 2-bedroom house just outside of the town of Yucca Valley. The house has lots of windows - good for enjoying the excellent view of Joshua trees outside the front window. Both bedrooms are a good size - we just used the one. Very comfortable king size bed. The kitchen is excellent - with a good fridge and stove and equipped with everything you could want. The house was very clean and nicely decorated - a relaxing space. We made use of the good heating system since there were some cold days.
The location was perfect for us as we hiked in Joshua Tree National Park every day - close to the northern entrance of the park. Also close to grocery stores and restaurants.
We hope to stay here again!

We had a very nice time at this property. It was all it was described. The hot tub was great and the stars were beautiful. The owners told us what we should bring (sandals, bathrobe, etc.). There is a gas barbecue. It's a short (1 block) bumpy dirt road (it appears to be somewhat of a wash), but as it wasn't really raining, it wasn't a problem. Town is within 2 miles so plenty of restaurants and grocery stores.

My husband and I really enjoyed our long weekend in the desert (despite the unexpected snow!). I appreciated the thorough check-in instructions that were sent well in advance as well as the easy cleaning/check-out process. The location was close to Joshua Tree and a number of restaurants/shops, but felt relatively secluded. Overall, an enjoyable vacation. Thank you!

We were very happy with our stay at Josh and Don's comfy bungalow. Great kitchen and appliances, comfy beds and pillows and a nice hot shower. Joshua Trees and cactuses right in the front yard, and 15 minutes to the West entrance of the park.

This lovely home didn’t disappoint. The location was close to the west entrance to the park; allowing for multiple entries to the park. Close to grocery store and restaurants. This home is well appointed and is better than advertised. I would definitely stay here again and will recommend to friends that might be interested in a Joshua Tree Experience. The owners Checkin/checkout process is seamless with reasonable expectations for departure. The stargazing from the hot tub was fantastic. If I could give 10 stars I would give eleven. Thank you for making our first Joshua Tree experience exceed our expectations.

What a gem!!
So happy we found this gem of a property in Joshua Tree. Super close to the park entrance about 7 miles from Pappy and Harriet’s and Pioneertown (which was why we were in town). Great location, quiet neighborhood, the house was spotless upon arrival, it’s clear that the owners, Josh and Don put a lot of care and thought into this house. The decor was simple but stylish, beds, linens and towels were comfy and clean. Kitchen was well stocked and the backyard was amazing. We spent most of our time at the house in the jacuzzi (super clean) and in the backyard. We will absolutely come and stay at this bungalow again or check out their other property. Anytime I needed to get a hold of Josh or Don, it was a few minutes at most to get a response. And to top off this wonderful experience, stupid me, left a bag at the house after we checked out. I asked (but did not expect) to have them ship my bag back to me. Not only did I get a reply in less than 5 mins, but Josh went to the property, picked up the bag and shipped it within a few hours. I won’t forget this kindness and I would say to absolutely rent this spot but only if you leave it as clean as you found it, because I don’t want people to party and trash the place, it’s that amazing!!

The property was great, clean, had everything to enjoy your stay. The beds were very comfortable, beautiful kitchen, great backyard. The layout of the bungalow was excellent. The only bad review was the size of the shower, a bit small, but other than that, a great stay for sure!

Great relaxing spot
We spent our days jumping into joshua tree and then relaxing at the house. The location is cool, you are in the middle of a field of josbua trees. Star gazing is great. Making smores over the fire pit. ALL In, the kids had fun and I could relax. Not much more to ask for.

Joshua Tree weekend getaway
Very artsy, clean and cute little house, just perfect for our group. A great place to come back to after a long day of hiking in Joshua Tree. We loved the hot-tub, firepit and rustic setting. Great for evening star gazing. Would definitely recommend.

Wonderful Stay
The place was wonderful and exactly as advertised. My wife had a terrific stay. Everything in the home worked perfectly, including the microwave, which was stealthily tucked away in a cabinet above the fridge. The home is about a 20 minute drive from the west entrance of Joshua Tree National Park, so it's in a convenient location, yet it's far enough away from the main roads that it's so quiet you can hear the wind rustling through leaves in the nearby palm trees. Also, the backyard was perfect for watching the sunset and stargazing at night. Highly recommend.

My best friend and I had a trip to Cabo cancelled in the spring of 2020 due to Covid so we were looking to get away for an adventure to welcome in a better 2021. Josh and Dan’s place in Yucca Valley/Joshua Tree was just the place to do it! We were here from 12/30/20-1/2/21. The house is thoughtfully designed from layout to design aesthetics and furnishings. Communication with Josh was easy and fast and all questions were provided prompt replies. The bungalow is conveniently located for hiking, exploring and shopping the YV/JT area, yet nestled in a quiet neighborhood if you are looking to just experience some down time and respite. The beds and linens were top notch and the kitchen well furnished, though we only did take out and did not cook. We took advantage of the jacuzzi to celebrate NYE under a starry JT sky. We enjoyed Sam’s Indian food twice (that good), grabbed brunch at Country Corner and Crossroads Cafe, dinner from JT Saloon, and coffee at the JT Coffee Co. We were here for the hiking and it did not disappoint. Ryan Mountain summit and Barker Dam were our favorites but Ryan Ranch Trail, Keys View, and Lost Horse Mine were well worth the time. The wind was no joke in December and it is cooler up in the park (snow flurries!) so dress accordingly in winter. Sunrise at Cholla Cactus Garden is a MUST (allow at least an hour to drive into the park from the bungalow)!!! We visited Pioneertown, the Art Queen’s Crochet Museum, shopped the YV strip for artisan gifts to take home, picked up tees at the JTNP Visitor’s Center and Coyote Corner. We had time to drop in on the YV Swap Meet for some flea market browsing on Saturday morning as well as stopped in at the JT Farmer’s Market. The Farmer’s Market was great and had great produce but also local artisan finds (soaps, honeys, jewelry, JT coffee, etc). We flew into/out of Palm Springs which is a super easy drive and enjoyed some time there on both ends of our trip as well. Despite Covid’s best efforts, we made full use of our time in JT and loved coming back to Josh and Dan’s place every evening to rest, watch a movie, drink wine and enjoy the jacuzzi and night sky. We didn’t light the fire pit or grill but did appreciate that both were available. It was truly a restorative experience and should we ever get back to area would absolutely stay here again. Thanks Josh and Dan for sharing your forest bungalow. Hello 2021!!-Jennifer (Texas) and Lissy (Louisiana)

Great stay
We (2 adults and a 6 year old) spent a week here over Thanksgiving and loved our stay! The kitchen had everything we needed and our rooms were comfortable (love that each room has its own AC/heat unit). The house is a quick drive from the National Park entrance. The hot tub is fantastic and easy to operate. Overall, great trip.

Beautiful Time in Joshua Tree
Very happy to have stayed at this wonderful house for a quick covid getaway! The property was very clean, well thought out, had beautiful decor, and the location was excellent!
Check in was super simple. We arrived late, but all you got to do is put in the code at the door and you're in.
Everything was so well thought out which I really appreciate. The jacuzzi has towel hooks right next to it and there is even a stand to just push the jacuzzi cover on to. There are a ton of lamps throughout and USB chargers next to the beds. The air conditioner worked great in all rooms which was important because I run a bit hot.
We really used EVERYTHING there and it all worked great. We used the grill, the firepit, the AC, the TV, the jacuzzi, the kitchen supplies, and the stove/oven. Pro tip: the microwave is in the cabinet above the refrigerator. Was originally shocked to not find one, but it's there.
I think our favorite thing about this house is the backyard area. It's fenced off area which felt very private and the summer weather in JT is not so bad in the shade and amazing at night. There is a big table in the shade to eat/work with cute dimmable lights above. It was also very nice to be out during night time using the jacuzzi, watching stars, and sitting by the fire.
Location wise, it is about 20 minutes to the national park which is fine given everything is pretty spread out around here. The park is great for climbing rocks, but just looking outside the front door of the house has plenty of beautiful joshua trees to look at. There are quite a few big name stores on the main street about 5 minutes away for picking up groceries and supplies.
It was just the 2 of us but if the house was full, it could get crowded to use the 1 bathroom. All in all, the wife and I had a great trip! Talked to the host Josh a bit and he was very helpful and responsive. Would highly recommend this house and will be coming back! Thanks for a wonderful time!

Magic in the Desert
My wife and I had a magical time staying here for a romantic weekend. There are so many thoughtful touches and we absolutely loved the decor - the pictures don’t do it justice.
It's close to Joshua Tree Park and other local spots. The home was sparkling clean and fully stocked with everything you would need for a week or weekend away.
We especially loved stargazing from the hot tub and sitting around the fire pit. We can’t wait to come back.
