About this house rental
Bright and airy recently remodeled basement apartment located within 20 minutes of Snowbird, Alta, Solitude, & Brighton and about 30 minutes away from Park City & Deer Valley. Nearby hikes. Hundreds of Incredible Mountain Biking trails. Cozy Family room with fireplace. Close proximity to Salt Lake City. Nice Full Kitchen with all the needed appliances to cook up a warm meal after your day on the slopes.
The space
This is a basement apartment with a private entrance in a quiet neighborhood. You will have access to the entire downstairs apartment with no shared spaces. The family room features a LED TV with a Roku Streaming Device, gas fireplace, and comfy couch to kick back and relax after a long day exploring all the wonderful sites that Salt Lake City has to offer. Your personal laundry facility with washer and dryer is also available for use. The inviting full kitchen is equipped with all the needed appliances to cook a nice warm meal after your day skiing or your night out on the town. There is a separate entrance to your cute basement apartment where you will be sure to love your stay.
The Neighborhood
There are beautiful views of the Wasatch Mountain range out the front of the house. It is in close proximity to all sorts of hiking areas, snowshoeing, mountain biking, skiing, snowboarding, and much more. It is located in a residential neighborhood in a suburb of Salt Lake City. There are plenty of places to eat and shop a couple of minutes away by car. Because this is in a residential neighborhood there aren't a ton of places within walking distance. Hog Wallow Pub is one of our favorite local watering holes where you can often find live music and enjoy a comfortable cabin-like atmosphere. Near the home there are plenty of fine dining restaurants as well as delicious places if you are looking for a quick and inexpensive bite to eat. For more nightlife and dining options Salt Lake City (about 15-20 minutes away) will be sure to provide plenty of fun choices.
Getting around
Uber and Lyft are great assets to use in this area. There are trains as far north as Ogden and as far south as Provo. The trains also go throughout downtown Salt Lake City. There are many bus stops really close to the house as well. For our travelers looking to ski, we recommend renting a car as being the easiest mode of transportation to and from the resorts. If you do not want to drive up the canyon, you can also park your car at the Park and Ride (located at the mouth of both canyons) to take the shuttle bus to the resort.
Other Things to Note:
This is a fully self contained and private basement apartment. There are guests that rent the upstairs apartment as well. Because of this it is likely that you will hear noise footsteps and other noise from time to time. Basements in Utah also tend to run at a little bit of a cooler temperature. We are always happy to remotely adjust the temperature for you.

You gotta enter through a garage which is strange. The door to the actual vrbo unit in the garage did not lock. The upstairs renters were quite loud and at times seemed spitefully loud. Only two towels in the whole place and no extra sheets or pillow cases. The check out instructions were quite demanding for already paying a cleaning fee haha

Access was limited thru the garage door, and then a door from the garage to the property. The lock for that internal door stopped functioning. I contacted the host. I was advised there was a spare key hidden in the garage so not to worry. I asked several times but never received the location of the key, so I was unable to lock and secure my personal belongings.
There were only 2 spoons to use to eat food, one small and one large. Only 2 bath towels and no face towels provided for a week stay. Communication with the host wasn’t quick, so it was difficult to get answers in a timely manner.

Excellent location to access both canyon roads to Solitude and Brighton or Snowbird and Alta. Perfect efficient basement apartment for a couple or two people if one is willing to sleep on the couch which I did and was fine. Grocery stores and other stores and eateries just a few minutes away. Very quiet neighborhood. 25 minutes or so drive from the Salt Lake City airport which puts you closer to the skiing.

The main house renters sounded like a herd of cattle walking around all night long!!! They were up partying, talking loud, laughing and carrying on like college frat boys! I got zero sleep for 4 days! I couldn’t control heater because thermostat was in main house! The hot water heater is for the entire house so when the frat boys all showered there was no hot water for me and my son! Terrible layout for the basement renters!!! Terrible experience!!! Stay away!

Sympathetic and well furnished apartment. You have to be able to deal with the noise of the tenants on the upper floor and the heating. Internet unstable and partly very slow.

Great place for a ski trip! Easy access to the property and the mountains. Plenty of room to lounge, cook and sleep :)

Good for skiing
Nice apartment with a new kitchen super close to the mountains. Check-in was easy and the communication with the property manager was fast and they were very responsive. The bathroom is quite dated.
The house has two apartments and you can hear everything from the upstairs apartment. Depending on the guest group, this might mean rowdy evenings where people shout or early morning trampling footsteps that wake you up at 6:30.
If you only stay for a short time, it probably does not matter as much.

Quick visit to SLC
This is a lovely little basement apartment. It has good light through multiple living room windows. The finishes appear pretty new and its very clean. There's a bed for two in the bedroom and a couch that opens up (comfortable) for another two possible. The house is ideally situated between Big and Little Cottonwood Canyons for quick access to the slopes. We took advantage of an unexpected 11 inches in April to ski. Would recommend to others.

Great stay
Perfect location with easy access to both canyons. The apartment was clean and just the right size and price for 2 friends or 2 couples. Late night access from the airport was no issue. The upper house is also a rental but all access to this apartment was private.

We will stay here again..
Comfortable accommodations with excellent proximity to the mountains! This was exactly what we were looking for our ski trip this year.

Great Place
This VRBO is a small but nice place to stay. Although sleeping four is a little tricky, the apartment is very clean and comfortable.
