We booked this property but instead we ended up in another property. It was not at all what we were expecting. We was notified the morning of our reservation that our property had been changed. Also they was a price difference but we got no refund in the amount difference. Please think twice before you book this property you may end up somewhere else.

location of property...1027 Little Bay Ave. Norfolk, Va. Below I will tell you all that we found: 1. The house was infested with ants and either fleas or mites. The carpet was not only stained, which I could overlook, but it was infested with bugs (I will send a picture of my legs how they were bitten all of from being in the house). 2. The walls had holes in it, there was toilet paper holders half put up, which our son fixed, because the children were getting scratched from it. 3. The television in the upstairs bedroom did not work. 4. The little sand area had glass shards, wood, beer cans, plastic bags and trash all over. Way too dangerous for children to play. We tried cleaning up the best we could, but decided not to allow them there. 5. The AC kept shutting down (and the week we were there the temps went up to 100s. 6. Hand rails outside very very loose…I am a stroke victim along with having a grandson who has some issues and we had to be very very careful. 7. Screens on the upstairs bedrooms were not installed and found laying in front of the porch where I tripped. My husband tried to instal them but the wheels were too rusty. 8. Numerous lights throughout the house and outsize did not work and half the wall switches did absolutely nothing. There were exposed popped nails all over the porch which mad it too danger out for anyone to walk barefoot and used tripping. We will forward to you pictures of this. I still have my email where I asked if all the issues would be attended to before our arrival. I was rest assured all would be. Nothing was and it was worse than I thought. I expect compensation for the horrible conditions we had to endure..ants on food, on dishes, on counters. Mites or fleas all over the carpets. We called several times to George..he assured us he would be out to take care of it all. NOTHING WAS DONE. I would expect you would not want me to put all the pictures up of the horrific conditions. Please advise to what you will do and what monetary compensation we can expect.

Rough around the edges.
Rough around the edges.
This property was in the perfect location for my family and I, though it was very close to the main highway, which was quite noisy. The house was a great size. There was no dining table, so be advised of that. The kitchen did not have enough plates/glasses/silverware for the number of people the house is rated to host. A lot of the furniture is quite old, some of it so wobbly we did not risk using it. The rental has potential to be a very nice property, but it definitely needs significant work to be charging what they are for it.

This rental is vile. I have never stayed in a rental that needed so much help. I want to also start by saying that I do not like leaving bad reviews, so I will start off with listing the positives. The outside of the house was pretty, but deceptive. The ease of check in was good, & bathrooms for every bedroom was spacious. Now, what needs major improvement, because pictures do not tell the story: EVERY INCH of the carpets was stained, or soiled from animals, food, or dirt, it was disgusting. The smell in the house was a mix of musty, & dirty laundry. The smell was so bad that I had to get a candle from my daughter 's house, & kept it lit to combat the stench. The bathroom sink for the upstairs faucet was loose, and the shower in the other upstairs bathroom is clogged so that when you took a shower you ended up standing in 2 inches of water. There was no table to sit at to have a meal, so I had to go purchase paper plates as there were only 2 plates in the cupboard. In the kitchen there were no measuring cups or teaspoons to help in cooking. The vents in the ceiling were rusted, & hanging from the ceiling. The ceramic floor tile was broken or cracked in a number of spots. The old creamer left for coffe was chunky and spoiled, as it was obviously old. This was liquid half & half creamer. The furniture in the livingroom was old, rickety, ready to fall apar, & looked filthy. The walls had multiple holes, and the downstairs bathroom door was cracked. The upstairs bedroom had false eyelashes stuck to the lamp, that my child found, so that was gross. The towels left for us to use were not soft and we were not even left enough wash cloths to use, (we had 7 people but only had 4 washcloths). On the outside of the house, there were toys and fishing nets left in the yard and on the porch. I figured out where the toys and nets came from, as on Saturday we had multiple visitors in the backyard, none of whom spoke English. These uninvited visitors came to hang out on the shore in our backyard for awhile until we asked them to leave. Now for the pests inside the house. There were ants in the kitchen that we couldn't seem to get rid of. My guests and I were simply appalled that this nightmare was even available for a rental. Since my daughter was getting married the next day after we arrived, we really had no time to worry about anything else, accept for trying to make the best of it. I would never recommend this rental, or stay here again
