Character old Inn in the heart of the beautiful little village of Asthall, a 5 mins drive from Burford. The Inn has been tastefully restored with quality furnishings. Our room and en suite bathroom was very attractive and comfortable and led on to the outdoor eating area. Surrounded by the best of the English countryside, we enjoyed an excellent pub meal. The food was exceptional, much of which was locally sourced. The staff were very friendly and we wouldn’t hesitate to return. Highly recommended.

We had two lovely nights at this little pub. The restaurant is amazing and the staff is extremely friendly and helpful. 100% will recommend!

Beautiful dreamy spot—the staff were so nice, perfect food for breakfast and dinner (so good why go anywhere else??!?)—I wish I could stay forever. Torn between wanting to give them the rave they deserve and wanting to keep it a secret place!! I will absolutely be back. Won’t ever stay anywhere else in the Cotswolds!
Nothing!

Breakfast ver good. Staff friendly and efficient.

Lovely Inn near Burford. Very quiet location, a garden with a beautiful view on the rolling countryside. Lovey restaurant with good food.
We booked a deluxe king room. The room itself was extremely small, bathroom was ok in size.
At breakfast I ordered one morning the fruit bowl with yoghourt. They must have had run out of fruit as I only got 2 small pieces of apple and 2 tiny slices of orange. Rather disappointing.

Loved the location, the quality and the food. It was our second stay and won’t be out last.
The young man who took us to our excellent room needs retraining. He was unhelpful (bordering on rude) when we asked for a taxi, or even the number for a reliable taxi agency. I refuse to believe a member of staff had no idea of a taxi number or where to find one. Also, the price of wine is extortionate. We had to pay £42 for a bottle of wine you would pay £14 for at a supermarket. This seemed excessive and left a bad impression.

Accommodation food and staff great as we left to go to airshow early staff did me and my son a lovely packed lunch as we went early realy nice stay thanks.
Boiler needs to be timed to come on at 6am there wasn't any h w at 6.15am but that's all.

It's in a beautiful little village, and the inn itself is so cute. Everybody working there was very sweet and friendly. We loved sitting in the bar room and sipping drinks in the daytime and in the evening.
One of our rooms was a little small and felt musty. And it faced the street, which meant loud garbage trucks outside our window early in the morning. But that's life in a small village, and the rooms were still unbelievably cute.

A lovely inn, food good though menu is rather limited. Well kept beer.
Enthusiastic, young staff. Some clearly learning the ropes.
There was a smell of sewage when we were shown to our room and this recurred several times during our stay. The problem disappeared with the windows shut (difficult in warm weather.) It seemed to be coming from a septic tank just outside the room. The smell was also evident around some of the outside dining tables nearby. At the price point the inn operates at this is unacceptable. To be fair it is unacceptable at any level! The problem (also mentioned by others) needs to be addressed.

lovely garden and interiors. the Room was very clean and love the bamford products in the bathroom.
the room was extremely tiny for q couple and there was no size specification on booking. the food was just average and given its links to daylesford group and its other properties I was expecting more effort. service is good and most of the team members were lovely, however one of the team members was rude when we tried to order some food as the kitchen was already close , just for info I would expect the concept of gastropub and not an average pub and that might be the message the staff got wrong. absolutely fine for the kitchen being close but the attitude was disappointing.

Lovely quiet location with great views. The room was clean and very comfortable - on the small side but fine for a one night stay! Very friendly staff. Dinner was delicious especially the fish platter, with good portion sizes. Breakfast was good too and nicely presented.
Our room was off the courtyard with a window to the back garden area which was fine as no noise (the room next to us had a window onto the courtyard which I wouldn’t be keen to stay in at busier times of year as imagine it would be noisy with guests!). There was a lot of noise from the doors in the hallway and neighbouring rooms slamming shut as they are heavy fire doors - this was fairly constant during the evening which was a bit annoying (albeit more down to the other guests being a bit thoughtless!). The walls seemed very thin as we could hear everything the people in the next room were saying!

Breakfast was very good. Everything was fresh and a good selection.
Had to go outside through the courtyard to room. Not good when raining.

lots to do in the area, hotel was central
