All the previous positive reviews are completely accurate. This was an amazing five nights stay right on Cook’s Bay in a beautiful home that has everything that you need. We did make several trips to the store to buy fresh fish and eggs and other staples, but for the most part, the house was completely stocked with spices, purified water, and all the cooking utensils you would need. My favorite part of the house is the dock. You can literally sit there and see lemon sharks and stingrays swimming by like clockwork. I don’t think there was a point in time where we didn’t see something swimming by within 10 to 15 minutes of each other. Monique, the host, was super receptive to all messages and inquiries during our stay. She even arranged for us to have late checkout since we had a midnight flight, and wanted to spend our last day at the house. Aidan, Who helped us check in had arranged for a rental car for me. It was the rental car that I didn’t know I needed but I absolutely did. The rate was super cheap. I believe I only paid 380 American dollars for five days. The car allowed us the freedom to travel all over the island to our excursions and also just to go to the beach or to the restaurants which are numerous in the area. We were just a family of four but the house actually sleeps 16 and although we didn’t have that many people, I would say that 16 would be totally comfortable. If we ever come back to Moorea again I would certainly love to stay at this house on Cook‘s Bay.

We were in Moorea to celebrate our 50th anniversary with our daughters and their spouses. House is large with plenty of space for 3 couples. House is in a great location. Can walk to Supermarket, pizza place, smoothies, and shopping. Very well stocked with all the water toys one could ever imagine needing. Family hosts were very nice.

Our family of 9 (2 grandparents, 2 adult couples, and 3 children ages 10,8, and 6) thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The dock makes the house - a fabulous place to lounge with gorgeous views. The boats and small beach were fun as were the 3 outdoor areas to eat. Special aspects include: well functioning air conditioning, comfortable beds, ample hot water, and a great laundry room (enclosed but open air) with 2 washers and 2 dryers, a large sink, lots of space to hang wet gear. We were thrilled to take totally clean, dry swimming and snorkeling gear home in our suitcases. The kitchen was adequate to cook a meal and had ample plates, silverware, glasses, etc. Great, secure off street parking and overall a very secure location. The house is older and shows some wear, but not in an uncomfortable way. I would describe it as homey and inviting.
Our hosts were lovely, meeting us on time, allowing us to stay 4 hours longer, providing many wonderful pineapples, much advise, and even a special dessert!
Merci beaucoup!
Moorea was lovely - good restaurants, beaches, hiking. We especially enjoyed Allo Pizza, Rudy's, Coco Beach, and snorkeling with whales.

My family extremely enjoyed our time in French Polynesia and at this property. The home is well-equipped, conveniently located, and the host was very accommodating.
Thanks for the wonderful memories and welcoming us to paradise.

Morrea is the most beautiful island we have ever seen and Cooks Bay captured the breathtaking beauty from every direction.
The exterior living space of this home is what drew our interest in renting, and it was more than we dreamed of. You can’t help but to feel happy when you see these views, private beach and Morning coffee on the dock. All of your water toys are right here to enjoy. As planned, when we were at the home, we were outside. (Neither of us ever saw a mosquito.)
We only used the main level but were surprised to see the three bedrooms upstairs with ample space for so many more to enjoy.
Thank you for your generous hospitality and attention to detail for our needs.

We had the best family vacation here. The house is huge and well-appointed. The views from the house out to, and around, Cook's Bay are mind blowing. The location couldn't be better. We cycled to the grocery store, walked across the street for delicious and inexpensive food. We lived every bit of it. Monique was attentive and responsive. I doubt you can do better on moorea.

Gosh, where do I start? Our stay at this property was part of a vacation that can only be described as a bottom-of-the-ninth-inning, bases loaded grand slam. Our hosts were fantastic and helpful, the house was so charming and fun for kids and parents alike, tons of water activities right out in front of the 'dock-quarium' with rays and sharks and turtles straight off the house (although obviously it's 2/3 of the way into Cooks Bay, so the visibility is better elsewhere.... but is still super super fun to jump in and snorkel right there at the house). The outrigger canoe and stand up paddle boards were awesome additions that we used all the time, not to mention the billiards, ping pong, and foosball tables! The house was well-appointed and charming, and we loved the history of the owners they were gracious enough to share in the welcome book. The outdoor showers were SO nice on hot days, and it was lovely to have a little air conditioning in the bedrooms at night for folks like us who are used to cooler climates. We are already planning our return to Moorea and will definitely be coming back to this house! Thank you Monique and Jean!

You won't be disappointed. The location on Cook's Bay is great and near restaurants and stores, unlike other spots on the island. The dock is a treat and watching the sharks and rays swimming by at night is something to see. Being deep in the bay has an advantage for watersports, in that, the wind is worse as you head out of the bay. AC in each of the bedrooms is a bonus. Two awesome beaches less than 10 minutes away by car or scooter. And the supermarket is about 4 minutes away. Perfect place to stay. Be sure to rent a car at the ferry and enjoy the island!

My family and I stayed here for 4 days/3 nights over Spring Break (my spouse and a 13,15,17 yo children). The island of Moorea is breathtaking, but this property let us enjoy it like it was home. The views are incredible and the sounds of the ocean, crickets, drumming at night fell pretty magical. Well-appointed, with about anything you could need functionally (kitchen/laundry/etc) and also as a vacation home (books/games/flippers/outdoor shower/hose). Comfortable. Safe. Open-air spaces that let you always enjoy the outside, even when you might need a break from the sun. We spent early mornings and evenings on the dock watching the fish swim by, including a stingray and some harmless sharks. We swam, kayaked, and snorkeled right off the beach in the reef area lining the property. Lazed around and read books on the beach. About 20 min from the ferry, this home was easy to get to, with a few eating spots within walking distance, grocery store about 5 min away and 2 beautiful white sand beaches 15 in either direction. We cooked dinner a couple nights - kitchen is well appointed and the knives were sharp! The hosts were amazing - so generous with their time, flexible with the check-in/out process and so welcoming with treats and refreshments from the island. This was one of the best VRBO experiences we have had and would love to come back with some friends!!! Highly recommend!!

This house was hands down the best location on the island. We are so glad we stayed here. It had everything we could need and lots of things we didn’t know we wanted. Beautiful comfortable home in a very convenient location. Hosts were helpful and very responsive. They greeted us with fresh leis. The floral arrangements in all the rooms were spectacular. Island life includes mosquitos but they provided bug spray. Our favorite hang out place was the dock. Every morning going out on the dock and watching the sun rise and at night watch it set was a highlight, then after dark watching the sky without light pollution was amazing. We saw shooting stars every night. I could go on and on, but the house exceeded our expectations! Just across the street, there was a yummy smoothy shop, a really cute gift shop which had the best items with the sweetest owner and cute shops. And there is hidden restaurant behind the smoothy shop that was delicious! The grocery store was very close. All in all, the best vacation every!

Outstanding place for a family vacation. The location is perfect. Our granddaughter loved all the sea life right off the dock, and morning coffee view off the deck was a favorite for my wife snd I. The house is well equipped. The kitchen is set up with everything you would need. There is plenty of sports equipment for use during you stay. Our kids, old and young enjoyed the gaming tables, especially the ping pong table. It stayed busy in the evenings. Although it is not absolutely necessary, a car is nice to have on Moorea, but groceries and takeout are close by and accessible with the three wheel bikes. The best part of the stay was the great service by the hosts Monique and Aiden. They saved us a number of times. Thank You! You won’t go wrong staying at their fantastic home.

This place was AMAZING!!! Adrian the host welcomed us at the house with leis for the whole group. As soon as you open the door to this property you are in awe. It was beautiful! The rooms were comfortable and clean. Every room upstairs had a view of the water. The view was out of this world. I can't say enough about how great this place was. The air conditioners were great on those really hot days. Again, Adrian was so amazing from giving us rides to the grocery store to sending some of us off at the airport. To even Monique baking me a cake for my birthday. Just incredible people. I would stay here again 100 times and highly recommend this to anyone staying in Moorea.

Awesome property and hospitality!

We adored our stay in this house. It is a well-established family home, doesn't have the usual cold/thin/mas produced feel of a rental property. It has polished wood interiors and has been remodeled recently. The bath tubs are super.
I can honestly say we were out on the dock 90 percent of the time, watching the mountain views change as the clouds shifted (timelapse photographers' dream), watching the lemon sharks and friendly stingrays pass by (neither are a threat to humans, very gentle beings), and the boats anchor and leave and anchor again. The location is phenomenal, and having your own dock is so rare. Definitely a gem of a house if you are a water person.
Water is hot when you have sunny days, we had three solid days of rain but when it cleared, the views were breathtaking. A/C kept the house cool and the bug zapper machine was a nice touch.
Absolutely lovely property run by good people. We would stay here again.

House was large enough to house four couples with room to have private time. Checkin was easy with a wonderful recommendation for an inexpensive good restaurant across the street. Loads of things to do pool, ping pong, foos ball, kayaks, paddle boards, fins and masks. Would highly recommended.

Amazing place to stay. We were a family of 5 and there was plenty of space to sleep. Firstly, Aiden and Monique were so helpful in checking us in and assisting us with local knowledge and contacts and making sure we were comfortable during our stay (thanks so much guys).
The house has the ambience of a family home, not a hotel, which we found really nice.
We spent a lot of time sitting on the jetty watching the fish, sharks and rays go by. The bay is very safe for swimming, our kids were snorkelling and kayaking every day. Also great just to watch the goings on of the locals as they head off to collect tourists for the lagoon tours.
Logistically, there are key amenities close by. There is a small supermarket 200m to the north stocked with fresh baguettes each morning and a small range of groceries and alcohol, 200m to the south is a fuel station which stocks fresh baguettes and pastries and snack food. 1.2 km away, is a larger supermarket with a good range of all you need. The house has supplied bikes (and two tricycles) which are great for the shopping ride.
Directly across the road is a fantastic restaurant (Kaylakea Moz Food). The food is really great and does takeaways. Allo Pizza is a 5 minute ride to the north where you can also bring pizza back to the house, or dine in. 1200m to the north is also the new Cooks Bay Hotel for happy hour and a meal. Only negatives are traffic noise in the morning. Thanks for a great stay!

Great location, great house, amazing host (Aiden). 10/10. He was like the mayor of Moorea and was super responsive to any outreach. Very nice and always helpful.
We stayed for a family vacation and to celebrate my 50th birthday- family of 4. The house had tons of space for us, the layout was great- lots of places to hang out to eat, relax,…
Great activities provided- SUPs, boats, ping pong, bikes,…We loved biking to the head if the bay to get delicious food in the morning.
The food across the street (Moz) and the food truck next door were epic, highly recommend.
For most excursions on the island, you’ll benefit from a car rental.
Snorkeling was pretty good in the Bay, although a little murky at times. The beaches seem to have clearer water for that. It was great to eat on the dock and watch the nurse sharks, rays and other fish cruise around.
Great stay- and again, Thank you Monique and Aiden!!

We had a wonderful time in Moorea at Our Cook Bay House. The house is beautifully situated on Cook’s Bay and the layout of the house, beach area, and dock are perfect. We had breakfast and coffee on the dock every morning with spectacular mountain views. We used the kayaks and paddle boards, finding beautiful fish, rays, and nurse sharks in the bay. The hosts are incredibly gracious. I rate the experience a 10/10!

We had a wonderful time at this amazing Cook's Bay home. The location is just magical. We were 2 families staying together and there was plenty of space for everyone. The location is perfect because you are close to all the activities on the island and most of the restaurants. The house is very well equipped and the pool table, ping pong table, fuse ball table, kayaks and paddle boards were used extensively by all our teenagers.
The house hosts were absolutely wonderful and made our stay even more special by introducing us to a local neighbor who took a few of us on a fishing trip and gave us some fresh cooked fish he had caught. The food truck same side of the street has great (and reasonably priced) sandwiches and cakes that we all enjoyed.
We have traveled extensively throughout the world and Moorea is one of the prettiest places we've ever seen. The combination of the beauty of the island and the crystal blue water is simply spectacular. We were already planning our next trip even before we left this one!

This home is wonderful, there were 6 of us and we had room to spare. We love how the house is designed with several areas for relaxing: dock, tv room, lanai, outside dining and outside table overlooking the bay. The views are incredible and we also saw rays and harmless sharks in the morning and night. You are on the bay with beach access and our hosts provided paddle boards, Life jackets and snorkeling gear. The hosts were extremely accommodating and they organized to pick up a package we had left in our hotel in Papeete, and we rented a boat for the week as our daughter had worked in Mo’orea and we fell comfortable navigating the ocean and it’s tricky reefs. The house is very well located, walking distance to a small market where we bought fresh bread every day. The hosts left us some wonderful fresh fruits and juices. Everyone had a wonderful time and I suspect you would too, this is French Polynesian hospitality at its best.

What's not to love about this place?! From the warmest of welcomes by Monique and Jim, to their responsiveness to our questions during our stay. From the access to the water right from the back garden, to the paddle boards and kayaks available onsite that allow you to explore the Bay. From sitting on the pontoon spotting Rays and Sharks in the morning and evening, to the stunning views of Cook's Bay throughout the day.
We absolutely loved our stay here, and would return in a heart beat. The house is lovely, with everything you need. Our kids loved playing pool, table football and ping-pong. Kitchen is well stocked with all you need, including plenty of tea, coffee, etc. And we even had some lovely surprise chocolatey treats waiting for us in the fridge too! This is obviously a well loved family home, and it was so nice to spend a few days in it.
There are a few restaurants nearby (within walking distance) and a decent size supermarket 2 mins drive away. Monique helped us arrange a half day boat tour, and they picked us up from the house pontoon!
If we could have stayed longer we would, and we really do hope to return some day. You can't help but fall in love with it, Cook's Bay and Moorea.

The house is exactly as pictured. The hosts have clearly put a lot of thought into the accommodation, providing everything you might need. Monique was very quick to try and respond to all questions and communications, including trying to help with a left behind item. In case you are wondering whether this is a real review, here are the additional practical things you might want to know as someone staying there: (1) getting into the gated driveway takes a little bit of practice - - pull forward as far as you can and then back in for the easiest entry and exit, (2) Many have asked about swimming/snorkeling from the house - you can swim and snorkel off the beach in front of the house, though as many have said, there are probably better places on the island. If you head head straight off from the dock to where the drop off occurs (you can see the change in color standing on the dock), there is almost always a pod of very colorful fish. We would SUP and kayak out there to look, but you could easily swim if you wanted to do so

The house and location are truly amazing. The house really does have everything you need. Before going to the store, check into the house and look at the condiments, spices, etc. they have a lot of these in the kitchen.
The property is amazing with so many spaces to hang out. We mostly found ourselves in the outdoor area or the dock. At night you can see so many different fish, sharks, eels etc. do bring a small flashlight.
We spent a lot of time on the paddle boards, kayaks and snorkeling. Cooks bay is beautiful. Our pictures almost look fake.
And lastly the host and her family will take very good care of you. She was very responsive and helped us get around and know where to go.

We loved our stay at the Cooks Bay house. We previously spent 5 nights in Bora Bora at Four Seasons and this was exactly what we needed to relax and take in some of the island of Moorea.
Plenty of space for our family to spread out. We loved having the full kitchen and being able to go from the water to house as often as we wanted.
They had a lei for each of us upon checkin. Fresh fruit, juice, and some veggies. Grocery store was right down the road for us to stock up on wine and some ice cream!!
Wifi was great and A/C was excellent as well!
I loved this is their family home they grew up in and nowa it is being used to allow others to enjoy. Thank you so much.
Highly highly recommended!

This property is fantastic! The interior is clean, with ample space, the house is equipped with everything you need, the outdoor space is the best part. The private dock alone makes this property worth it. You can see marine life, reef sharks, nurse sharks, sting rays, manta rays and fish. There were multiple sitting options, ranging from full sun to full shade. The water is shallow going out quite a ways beyond the dock before it drops off. Any questions we had were quickly answered and communication was great. There are multiple paddle boards, life jackets, and everything you could need that would add to the stay. The biggest problem is that we didn't want to leave.
5.0 / 5.0
We had a great time enjoying the property and the house. The kids, and adults loved the toys. Monique and Aiden were always available if needed.
Our grandkids will never forget swimming with nurse and black tip sharks and rays right off the dock!
Thank you!
5.0 / 5.0
The only thing I would change about our stay here is the amount of time we had to stay! Monique was easy and fast to communicate with. Aiden met us at the property and gave all seven in our party the most beautiful leis and showed us everything we needed to know about the property. He was absolutely delightful!
We had seven people total in our party - 3 adult couples and one solo traveler. There was plenty of room for sleeping and getting ready each day. Also plenty of room to move about and have different activities around the property throughout the day (including naptime)!
There was fresh fruit left for us at the house and wonderful jam in the fridge! So many modern amenities in this place, we really didn't miss anything at all! There are activity supplies for everyone! Bikes, paddleboards, snorkel gear and more!
The dock in the back yard is so much fun! We spent so much time out there watching sharks, fish and rays! The views here cannot be explained in words! Online photos really don't even do this home justice! Much better in person for sure!
Home is in a great location, and everything is so easy to get to on the island!
What an absolute dream vacation location! Both Monique and Aiden were so friendly and accommodating, they made our visit the best ever! Thank you!

This beautiful home sits on Cook’s Bay. It is stunning! Super clean. Amazing views. Delightful place to gather and play. The hosts are amazing and are super responsive. Highly recommend to groups who come to Moorea to enjoy this beautiful island

Monique and her brother Aiden were perfect host. Monique was very helpful with answering/suggesting the tons of questions we had about how things work on Moorea and FP. She even offered to drop of a SIM Card for us at our resort in Tahiti. As we spent 3 days in Tahiti before heading over to Moorea for 7 days. This was their family home and it felt that way. Plenty of toys to use in the water. AC’s worked great. Indoor/outdoor space would be great for bigger groups, so you never feel crowded.
We just went as two couples, but would be a great spot for two families with kids. There’s two bedrooms down stairs and a large bunkhouse style room up stairs with enough beds for a small Army. The dock was great to hang out at in the evening with a drink and just chill out.
Not great for snorkeling right off the beach. But if you walk out into the bay about 50 yards (it will be about 5-6 feet deep) you will find the edge of the channel. Where with one step it’s about 100 feet deep. At the channel’s edge you can snorkel and see fish and some cool rock formations. But there are way better spot on the island to snorkel.
Safe spot with double gates. Never felt like we needed to worry about thieves. Neighbors were nice, all locals on both sides.
Thanks again too Monique and Aiden for a great stay.

This place surpassed our expectations! From the online photos we were pretty sure it would be nice but it was more spacious and even more beautiful than we could tell in the photos! We saw rays and reef sharks off the dock in the evenings. Monique and her brother Aiden were excellent hosts and greeted us with flowers as we arrived. The place is very close to a grocery store and a pizza place. the property is secured by two automatic gates, and the hosts provide everything you need for your stay. We rented a large 8 person van which was a little tricky getting in and out of the gates but if you have a normal car it will be no problem. Thank you Monique and Aiden!!

The Most Amazing Moorea Experience
If you are headed to Moorea you NEED to stay here! Monique is so accommodating and went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed and so much more. The property itself is stunning and provided us with the most memorable time!

This place is a nice change from white sand beaches! It’s adjacent to a bay in the shadow of a small mountain, beautiful views and excellent resources for activities. Excellent communication with the host, wonderful accommodations and atmosphere.

Our group of 4 had a wonderful time at Our Cook’s Bay House. The location is superb, and the house was fully outfitted with everything we needed. Would definitely stay again.

Great location!
Outside area of house was breathtaking. Many different areas to eat, relax and enjoy the amazing views. Kayaks and standup boards provided but unfortunately only had one kayak paddle 😔 Monique was very responsive and helped us arrange a private chef for our last night which was delicious! Inside was nice but dated and could use a refresh. Could tell furniture was worn and old.

We loved this property!
We loved everything about this house! It’s located on Cook’s Bay, it’s on the water front and has a beautiful view. It has 2 large bedrooms on the main floor, king sized beds, with large private en-suite bathrooms. The upper floor is huge, with 2 king sized beds, as well as other sleeping options for larger families. It has a very large bathroom upstairs as well. We were 3 couples so it was perfect for us. The kitchen is a good size, fully stocked with dishes and cookware. The outdoor spaces are outstanding! It has a very large porch area that is enclosed on 3 sides with large windows that open. A large table for eating meals that seats 6, a big wrap around couch that is great for reading, napping or visiting. There is a dock over the water where we had cocktails in the evening and another large deck next to the water with a table for 6 where we had most of our dinners. There are several other seating areas and tables as well as a charcoal BBQ that we used often. There is a small living room inside with a television as well as a television upstairs. There is a washer and dryer in a covered area outside with a clothes line that was nice for hanging wet suites and towels. There is also a heated outdoor shower which is great when you get out of the ocean. There is a nice reef very close in front of the house that had good snorkeling. There are several paddle boards and a kayak available to use.
Monique, the host, was so welcoming and friendly! She had fresh flowers all over the house as well as fresh fruit waiting for us when we arrived! Every time we had a question she got back to us immediately.
This home on Moorea is everything you could ask for! Rent a car so you can experience all that Moorea has to offer! A beautiful paradise awaits

even better than the pictures
Incredible cooks bay views. The house had everything you can think. Tons of space and beautifully decorated. Smoothie place across the street, Allo pizza close by. Whale watching trip picked us up at our own private house dock. Great experience.
