About this house rental
This 3 bedroom/3 bathroom unit is the second and third floors of a 3-story oceanfront home that boasts spectacular views of Gregory Point, the historic Cape Arago lighthouse on Chief Island, and Lighthouse Beach from the master bedroom and bath, kitchen, living room, dining room, and deck in this spectacularly located home. The third floor bedroom, bath and game room are surrounded by windows to enjoy 270 degree views from the Cape Arago lighthouse to Yoakam Point. Only 200 feet away, there is private access to Lighthouse Beach. This spectacular beach is bounded on both the north and south by 60 foot-tall sandstone cliffs that extend into the ocean. Because there is no public access to this ½ mile sandy beach between the rocky headlands from the north or south, it is the closest thing to a private beach in Oregon.
This contemporary home was recently remodeled with high-end appliances, quartz countertops, custom-made furniture, floor-to-ceiling windows to capture the amazing ocean and lighthouse views, luxurious bathrooms with rain showers and invisible drains (2nd floor), custom kitchen cabinets, built-in refrigerator and freezer drawers, built-in microwave drawer, heated tile floors throughout, and gaming center.
Open the windows and fall asleep at night to the sound of the waves crashing on the beach below your home. Relax on the cozy wind-protected deck while the brilliant sun sets behind the Cape Arago lighthouse on Chief Island. One master bedroom/ master bath and a guest bedroom and guest bathroom are on the second floor; a queen-size hide-a-bed in the living room can accommodate two additional guests. The third floor has a queen-size bed, bathroom, wet bar and refrigerator, double hide-a-bed, and X-Box with subscription games.
Lighthouse Beach has numerous interesting geological features including steep sandstone cliffs, small caves, small waterfalls and rivulets to the ocean, monolithic rocks in the surf and stone promontories that project into the ocean to create tiny U-shaped private beaches during high tide. Walking along the sandy beach you are treated to unparalleled views of the Cape Arago lighthouse perched on Chief Island, the hole through the island and the steep cliffs that protect this unique stretch of beach.
The kitchen has six refrigerator/freezer drawers, deep farm sink, microwave drawer, toaster, 6-burner gas range, dishwasher, electric tea kettle and rice cooker. Other amenities include a blender, coffee grinder, coffee maker, and all the utensils, flatware and silverware needed for cooking, barbecuing and serving ten people.
The property is gated, with a paved driveway and parking, large back yard with lawn, mature trees and shrubbery and a large oceanfront yard to experience the beautiful Oregon coast. To take advantage of the Oregon coast, amenities include crab pots for catching your own Dungeness crabs, tools for harvesting mussels on the onshore rocks, shovels for harvesting razor clams, huge Empire clams and cockles, buckets, boots, an outdoor kettle for cooking your catch, gas barbecue, beach chairs, beach umbrella, beach towels, and beach toys for children.
Within ten minutes of this amazing home (some are only 1 minute away) there are numerous natural areas and tourist attractions. These include Sunset Bay State Park (a popular, very flat and shallow beach with small waves), Shore Acres State Park (extensive international botanical species and formal gardens blooming throughout the year, unusual geological features that create explosive ocean spray up to 200 feet high, storm watching, secluded Simpson Beach, and Holiday Lights featuring 300,000 lights from Thanksgiving to New Year’s), Simpson Reef (the largest sea lion haul-out on the west coast of the United States with more than 5,000 Stellar sea lions, California sea lions, elephant seals and harbor seals), Cape Arago State Park viewpoint and hiking, the Shore Acres hiking loop, secret beaches, Bastendorff Beach and State Park (surfers, views, mussel harvesting), a portion of Oregon Islands National Wildlife Refuge encompassing over 1,800 islands and rocks along the Oregon coast, Charleston marina and harbor (restaurants, charter fishing, shopping, fishing gear and permits), U.S. Coast Guard view point (south jetty views and the geology of the Charleston harbor), the Oregon Institute of Marine Biology (University of Oregon research facility) and the Charleston Marine Science Center.
This three bedroom/three bath unit is the second and third floors of a three-story home; the first floor is also a separate vacation rental with one bedroom, one bathroom, living room, dining room and kitchenette with the same amazing views of the Cape Arago lighthouse, Gregory Point, Chief Island, Lighthouse Beach and Yoakam Point. The entire house can accommodate 14 guests.
There is an "Alexa" smart device in the living room area of each floor. It cannot be activated remotely. Guests can unplug the device to assure privacy.

Beautiful home with fantastic views of lighthouse and ocean. Walking distance to awesome state parks from home.

This home and its owner exceeded our expectations in every way. Lovely home in a gorgeous setting with 180° views of the ocean and lighthouse.
It was just the 2 of us, but the home could accommodate 4-6 people very comfortably on the 2nd & 3rd floors.
We hope to return next year!
Thank-you for sharing your beautifully decorated home with us!

Our family stayed one quick evening as we made a trek along the Oregon coast. This was a highlight of our trip! The space and views were exceptional for our family of five. The check-in process was smooth supported with exceptional pre-arrival details. Detailed notes and guidance throughout the house made our stay easy to navigate. The beach was easily accessible with tide pools to explore. We would have definitely stayed longer to enjoy the property more and would stay again.

With the breathtaking view and the utter quiet nights, it was perfect to relax and just breath.

The views from this property are awesome. We could never get enough of just gazing at it. The walks on the beach were wonderful. The house is so comfortable, beautifully decorated, and made for a memorable family vacation.

We stayed with 2 families, 4 adults, 4 kids. It was a perfect spot to relax and explore the coast. Minutes to several stunning state parks. The walk down to the beach was totally fine. We enjoyed cooking every night and just soaking up the views. Excellent communication with the host on any questions we had.

Overall, this was a great place to stay! The views were amazing, and the inside was beautiful. There were a few minor suggestions I would make, but nothing that should stop anyone from enjoying this place!!

We could not have asked for a better place to spend our 4th of July holiday. The Home had stunning amenities, ocean views, and was comfortable. Michael was very responsive to any questions we had. I would highly recommend this home to anyone. Our family created memories to share for many years to come.

Lovely ocean front property with beautiful views, and nice amenities. Peaceful and quiet spot if you’re looking to get away from it all!

Made it worth the difficult (for me only) climb!

Our trip was absolutely dreamy. This house has gorgeous views and we kept saying how it was such a special place to eat breakfast or lunch or celebrate a birthday. Just special. We loved exploring Shore Acres and planted ourselves several times at Bastendorf beach which is super close to the house.
The house is very accommodating. We did buy more salt and pepper but that’s not a big deal. The hardest part for us is that the light comes through the windows at our kids’ bed times making it hard for them to fall asleep. And then the sun is shining bright on them at 5:30 and they woke bright and early all 3 days. We rolled with it.
The owner had considered so many things to make the stay comfortable- extra blankets, a pack and play, beach towels and beach toys, etc it helped so much.
The views, the location, the decor, the comfort, the accommodations of this house makes it 10/10 for us. We are already talking about when we can come back.

We really enjoyed the location and the home. Quite the setting! Our only small complaint was the ice maker was not functional. Some advance notice would have been helpful so we could have brought a bag from the store.

Just as pictured. Lovely place right on the water. It doesn’t matter if you have bad weather because the views from the house are stunning. The house is equipped with everything you need and is cozy and clean.

We loved our visit to this property. The views are spectacular - absolutely as pictured. But the house itself was also perfect. The host was very helpful as we wanted to harvest our own seafood. Everything we needed (equipment) and needed to know (information) Mike provided. He was beyond helpful. The kitchen was well stocked so we could come back and enjoy our bounty! The nearby State Parks were amazing. We loved seeing the sea lions at Simpson Reef. And don’t miss the botanic gardens at Shore Acres. All of that activity was fun to do with our family of four. But we also enjoyed the views and some downtime playing games and watching March Madness basketball at the house during the rain. It was a great trip.

Nice place to stay overall. Great views. Close to Sunset Beach, Shore Acres (which has the Botanical Gardens), Cape Arago, Bastendorf Beach, and Charleston. When in Charleston, make sure you visit Portside restaurant for high end eats. Some of the appliances in the rental are in need of replacement. But nothing that made for a bad experience. If you venture onto the beach, make sure you check the tide tables, as it is very easy to get stranded if you're not paying attention.

Super place for our parents 65th anniversary.
Super views, quiet, and a feeling of extravagance throughout. The beds were overly comfortable and the attached bathrooms to two of the rooms were delightful. The third bedroom had a close bathroom
The kitchen and dining area were fun to use in that the refrigerator were in a combination of 6 large drawers. The dining and living areas had a most beautiful view of the waves and ocean.
The garage area had a fun game room including a couch and table.
The place was extremely clean. We are looking forward to staying here again during whale watching/ storm times.
A great find in the Coos Bay area.

This is our second time staying at Mike's place. He is a fantastic host! The house is in a stunningly gorgeous location, and the house is very comfortable, and has everything we needed. Easy beach access. Will be back for sure!

This was a wonderful, modern home on the cliffs over looking the ocean. We rented the upper two levels which was just the right room for a family of 4 with two older children who had their own rooms and bathrooms. Beautiful views of the waves and light house!

Floor to ceiling windows, view of the lighthouse, and ultra clean. If you head south to Shore Aces, the beaches and trees are gorgeous. Well worth the money, especially at winter rates. Would definitely return!

This house is even better than the pictures! All the white decor throughout is stunning. There qre stairs down to the beach within a short walk. We could not have asked for a better place to stay for our trip to see the Christmas lights at Shore Acres.

We loved this beach house and could not have been happier with the view and decor!

While this property clearly accommodates many more people- this retired couple needed a peaceful place to recharge without any “outside noice”.
Dreamy inside and especially outside- the view. Waves so loud they could sound like thunder.
Little touches inside that make life easier, heated floors, floor to ceiling windows and USB charging ports everywhere you didn’t even know you needed one.
And spotless. Hope to make this an annual visit.

Just needed a place to stay and work from for a few days near Bandon Dunes Resort. This was the perfect property.

We really enjoyed our time at this beautiful property. Million dollar views from the dining and living area, comfortable and well appointed bedrooms and living spaces, and easy access to Lighthouse Beach. And our host was awesome. Will definitely be back!

This is my second stay at this property and just love it! Everything is top notch and beautifully decorated. The view of the lighthouse and ocean is spectacular as well as the private beach with easy access. I am a professional Chef and enjoy cooking and entertaining and this home is perfect for that. It is a bonus to have such a great attraction as Shore Acres State Park which is just a very short drive down the street. I always make it a point to take my guests there during our stay at this property. I have to say my guests were thoroughly impressed with everything and I would like to add Mike is a wonderful Host! Can't wait for my next stay here at this beautiful Oceanfront Home!

Gorgeous property with stunning views of the ocean. Exactly as advertised!! Would definitely stay here again and highly recommend for couples and families.

We really enjoyed staying here, the master bedroom is stunning. Cell service is non existent which made
checking in a little challenging as we had to call the host to clarify, which is tough when calls are dropping. Logging onto the wifi is imperative, but was not reliable. I would not plan to take video meetings here. Otherwise the view and decor were equally beautiful.
