This home is nestled in the Cove of Hidden Valley and includes a private ground floor entrance with off-street parking for 2 cars, a secluded hot tub, a gazebo and a private bbq.
NOTE - unlike comparable rentals, we have a ground floor, ABOVE ground private wooded entrance. No reason to go stay underground like a rabbit in the dark!

We have a full-size pool table, an air hockey table, ping pong, Ms PackMan, FoosBall, Dart Board(s), poker, basketball hoop and bar. This 1,500 sq.ft. space has a fully-equipped kitchenette, 2 large bedrooms with a view (think passing deer, and an awesome sunset), with a sleep number bed and a pillow top in the other. The third bedroom has 2 bunk beds and 2 extra trundle beds. We also have a futon couch converting into a bed.
There is a ski/snowboard gear drying room, with a boot / helmet dryer. The lounge has a granite top bar and 2 fridges, an ice maker, office space and wifi. The bathroom has a kid-friendly tub, a double vanity with glass vessel sinks and ADA / elderly-friendly handrails. The living room has a fireplace, a futon couch and an awesome foot massager for after those fun, exhausting ski days. There's also a drop leaf table in the living room, that expands out to allow 8-10 people to dine at the same time. There is also an Air Hockey Table that converts into a Ping Pong Table. Then, relax in the hot tub, looking up at the stars and watching our resident deer wandering. There are also FREE private laundry facilities with a large capacity washer and dryer, with available laundry soap and dryer sheets. There is also an ironing board and iron. Necessities and complimentary toiletries are provided including soft towels, hot tub towels, shampoo, conditioner, soap, washcloths, lotion, and a hairdryer and flat iron.
The kitchenette is fully stocked with a coffee maker, a Keurig, a tea brewer, blender, pots, pans, toaster, dishwasher, microwave, medium-capacity Kitchenaid oven, single smart-touch induction burner, 2 dorm refrigerators, ice cream maker, toasted sandwich maker, automatic rice cooker and hopefully anything else you need. KITCHEN STAPLES: We provide Coffee, Tea, Hot Chocolate along with Olive Oil, Vinegar, Salt & Pepper, Sugar, Ketchup, Mustard, Mayo, and Maple Syrup. We like to cook and likely have what you're looking for.
The space is spacious for 6 guests, and great for up to 8 guests. There is a keypad entrance so you can check-in just about whenever you need without having to contact us. We are "2 stop-signs" from Snowbird and Alta Ski Resorts...20 mins from the airport, 5 minutes to Little Cottonwood, 10 minutes to Big Cottonwood.
Our cleaners have been Covid-19 Vaccinated and our space is fully disinfected and ozone treated between guests.
We also have 2 sets of snowshoes available, please just email or text me your request. Also, when there's no snow on the ground, we have tennis rackets available for your use. There is a free court available in our neighborhood, about a 5 mins walk from the house. We also have racquetball rackets, and basketball, and 2 mountain bikes. Though you'll have to convince Ken that you're a proficient rider before he lends you his new baby LOL.

The space you are renting has a private entrance on the ground floor, above ground, (NOT a basement) and has off street parking.

We absolutely loved our stay! The home was stocked with absolutely anything we could have needed. The pool table and air hockey table kept our family entertained for hours. The patio was secluded and private and we always felt like we were at the property with just our family.
The location was nearby so many beautiful hikes and outdoor activities. I didn’t want to leave! We saw deer while sitting on the patio every night which my kids loved!
We would love to stay again during future trips to Utah!

We enjoyed everything about this awesome spot, including the deer roaming around the back yard. Sadly we didn't get to take advantage of the super-size hot tub but we used everything in the game room, including the throwback Galaga. My daughter discovered she really likes pool...
One small gripe was the brightness of the back bedrooms but we're used to really dark bedrooms so that may be more on us.

It was clean, cozy, and quiet. Very nice and welcoming- I didn’t fear my kids breaking or touching belongings they could possibly break and that making me a nervous wreck - it is cutely decorated but the sense of family and had a lot of towel warmers! The hot tub was clean and worked!!

Emma and Ken have a wonderful piece of property. It’s 22 minutes from Snowbird, 6 minutes to Walmart and no more than 15 minutes to other great restaurants and shopping.
Emma and Ken were very helpful with anything we needed. That could be reminding me of the door code or coming down and setting the TV up so we could watch football after a day of skiing.
The Hot Tub was perfect, private and had a bunch of deer that loved to watch you relax after a hard day skiing.
We had 2 20 year olds and a 17 year old with us The pool table and dart board were a huge hit as well as the fireplace and ping pong table.
If we could give more than 5 stars we would.

We really enjoyed our stay. The kids had fun playing pool and loved the big hot tub. The yard was beautiful and felt private with all the trees. The owners are great to work with. Close to town and all the other things we were doing. Our only wish was for another bathroom. I assumed it had two but there is only one, so sharing one bathroom with 8 people was a bit tricky but we managed.

Very nice daylight basement lodging in a quiet, upscale neighborhood. The parking spot was a bit tricky to navigate out of and the wireless internet strength was somewhat inconsistent, but overall we are very happy with our stay.

Our family (2 boys ages 12 and 14) had the best time visiting Alta/Snowbird and staying at this property. Emma the host was extremely responsive, kind and attentive. She even mailed me items we forgot to pack up at check out! My kids loved the pool and air hockey table and we also used the hot tub right out the door a couple of times. Highly recommend this property if you are planning on visiting Sandy and the nearby mountains!!

We 4 guys (late 50’s/early 60’s) stayed here feb 25-mar 4. Perfect location to access most of the amazing ski resorts within 30-40 mins. Very clean, comfy beds, great evening games with pool, air hockey, darts etc etc. hot tub out back perfect apres ski recovery with a cold beer or 2. We were spoiled with amazing snow conditions, powder almost every day. All resorts are great, snowbird outstanding but go early, parking fills up and canyon rd to get there was closed on a couple of big snow days for avalanche control and road clearing until about 8:30 or 9 am. We cooked in and ate out. There are a few good restaurants 10 to 15 mins away, grocery stores too and kitchen well equipped for all kinds of cooking including gas bbq out the back door. The host Emma is excellent, kind, attentive and helpful. Don’t hesitate to ask her about anything. She happily gets back to you immediately. She even brought us yummy leftover breakfast that she made one morning. 10 star. You can’t go wrong here! I’m sure it’s equally good as a summer destination for hiking, biking, climbing etc. we’d highly recommend this property and host!

The property was clean and nice with plenty of sleeping space for our family of five. We would prefer 2 bathrooms, but knew we weren’t getting that when we booked. We enjoyed the large hot tub and the air hockey table. Communication with owner was great. She responded right away.

We chose this place because of all the things to do as a family while we were in the house. We loved the pool table and hit tub the best. My wife played pac man as well. The location is gorgeous! A Tucked Away Escape
We were in SLC for a wedding and extended vacation. This property was a relaxed and comfortable option for us. We utilized the gazebo to sit and enjoy our morning coffee and the hot tub in the evening to unwind. We accessed a trail from the neighborhood for a great hiking experience and breathtaking views. There were 5 of us sharing one bathroom, but it does have 2 sinks. The kitchen has a smaller refrigerator, but also has a small beverage refrigerator that helped with food spacing. The backyard was its own nature habitat - we even saw a deer & its fawn.

Perfect spot for skiing
Great location. Super clean. Comfortable. Made our ski trip easy. We skied Snowbird, Alta and Brighton and had a blast. Enough on the edge of the city to be at your outdoor destination in 10-20 mins but close enough to stores and restaurants in 5. We cooked most of our meals and had everything we needed to do so. Nice open space to hang out and relax in the evening with quiet rooms for those that want to turn in early. PacMan and billiards were a hit as was the hot tub to rest achy muscles . Best part is comfortable beds and clean and inviting space making it a home away from home. Will rent again.

Fun Times
Property was as fun as described. We had a blast hanging out there after a day of skiing. Hot tub was perfect for soaking sore muscles. Pool and poker filled up all the other time. Kids had a blast and had stuff to do when at the house. Equals, some down time for dad. Excellent location for Snowbird and Alta. less than a 25 min drive. Friendly homeowners and a great overall experience.

Amazing Accommodations!
This is the second time we have stayed at KIA ORA on our ski trip. We planned our ski trip based on the availability of this place because we love it so much! We stayed five nights and we ate most of our meals in because we wanted to enjoy everything this place has to offer. The hot tub is such a nice spot to enjoy after skiing and to soak in the mountain views. Emma and Ken go above and beyond what's expected as hosts. They respect their visitors privacy so much to the point we didn't even think they were in their own house above us. I can't say enough great things about this place. If I could give it more stars, I would! Thanks Emma and Ken for another amazing stay!

Great neighborhood and location for our ski trip to to Alta and Snowbird! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Our family loved the hot tub, fireplace and all the games! Only wish there was a full stove- but the cooktop worked out just fine! Had a wonderful time and would love to return!

Family Super Bowl and Ski Weekend
Spent a wonderful weekend of skiing with the family. Kia Ora was very convenient to Snow Bird. There was plenty of room and we really enjoyed all of the amenities that were provided. The hot tub was fantastic, we barbecued on the grill and played lots of pool and darts. Highly recommend this great Vrbo!

Awesome location, great ammenities, close to Snowbird and Alta
We had a great experience. The first floor unit was really well equipped, with a nice fireplace and hot tub and more.
It took us only 20 minutes to drive to Snowbird. There was a large toaster oven and a 1 burner stovetop so we made breakfasts and ate out for dinners. There were a few deer in the yard, which was cool to see from the hot tub. It was very clean, warm and had plenty of blankets and pillows. We all really liked the place.

Perfect for snowbird/alta getaway
Good for short quick ski trip to alta/snowbird. Bit of a unique property but definitely doesn't take away from its charm. Aprox 20 min drive to ski resorts, private hot tub with very nice backyard and grill. Only downside is 1 bathroom and mattresses need updates but those are all negligible when you come to ski. Other huge plus is wild deer just roam the property and they get so close to you!!! So thats always fun.

Great fun with pool/darts/Galaga/movies!
We were on a ski vacation with our two college kids. After skiing all day, it was great to come back and just relax at the house, soak in the hot tub, play some pool, darts, video games and/or watch a movie. The futon was super comfy for one of my sons who used it was a bed. My husband and I had a hard time getting a good night sleep in the first bedroom (with all the books). I think it was a bit warm for my husband (blanket is quite heavy) and the blinds do let light in (black out curtains would be nice). We ended up sleeping in the bunk room and we were surprising very comfy there. It’s super dark there (no windows)and very quiet;) Kitchen was adequate for making breakfast and warming up leftovers from dinner out. I would only say the chairs in the kitchen are a little uncomfortable. Appreciated the boot dryer room. I would suggest that in place of the air hockey table (which wasn’t working anyways), to get a table so we can set out things from skiing - helmets, hat, gloves, etc. or at least have more hooks available to hang more things. We have stayed in the lower level of a house on previous trips but this time was the only time we could hear a bit of noise from upstairs - mainly it was the dog walking back and forth. But it didn’t bother us while we were sleeping. Having the deer and birds visiting us was a treat;) Overall we enjoyed our stay there! Thanks to Emma for all the little extras;)

Great for skiing and relaxing!
This is a great location for skiing at Alta or Snowbird. Our older kids enjoyed the games, especially the pool table. Emma and Ken were very accommodating—intercepting food deliveries for us and clearing the snow when we got stuck out in a “winter squall.” We had a great stay!

Perfect Thanksgiving for family with teens
We had a wonderful time at KiaOra. Emma and Ken were super helpful and responsive, going way above and beyond with game set up. The place is beautiful and well set up with everything you might need. The hot tub was delightful, especially after skiing. Our sons enjoyed the pool table, ping pong and other games. We were able to make a fairly traditional Thanksgiving meal in the kitchenette. Do note that while beautiful and very well appointed, the kitchen does not have a full oven or cooktop. There is a very nice countertop oven that works well for one dish at a time and a one burner induction cooktop. You cannot use the oven and cooktop at the same time. This made for a bit of a challenge but ended up being a fun one and tested our cooking skills! Emma was very helpful with lending the few extra things we needed to make it work. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend to others. Watching the deer family in the yard was an added bonus! Thanks Emma and Ken!
