Quiet neighborhood within walking distance from a small community and near the greater Boston area!

We loved our stay in Melrose. Were able to get to/from all our destinations with relative ease and it was so nice to come back to some place "homey" at the end of the day. Thank you so much.

Place worked out great for family of 5. Salem was an easy 30 minute drive. Just be aware the AC is only 2 window units, one in each bedroom.

The house was clean and had everything we needed. Sarah left thoughtful touches like a coffee/tea station and a large map of the transit system. My kids especially loved playing with the air hockey toy and exploring the play loft. The area is beautiful—I wish we’d had time to explore some of the nature trails. The Main Street was cute and we enjoyed dinner at a local restaurant.

Our family of 5 enjoyed our stay at Sarah’s lovely flat. The neighbourhood was peaceful, pretty and walkable, and very convenient for taking transit downtown. The flat was spacious, clean and well equipped (no washer or dryer on site, but there is a laundromat nearby). The beds here comfortable and we really enjoyed relaxing on the large balcony after spending the day exploring the city. The play space in the attic was amazing, if our kids were younger they would have loved it! Like most old homes, it has its quirks but lots of charm. We wished we were staying longer and wouldn’t hesitate to stay again.

We stayed here as a base when we explored Boston and Salem. It’s a lovely area with a cute business district near by. We used Uber to get into town to avoid traffic and parking which worked out great for us. Lovely old 2 flat in a quiet neighborhood!

Stayed in top floor of two family flat. Cute apartment that had what we needed for the week. Within walking distance to good restaurants on the main street. It was a good location to launch day trips to Boston, Salem and the coastal areas to the north. Enjoyed our stay.

The house was great! It had everything you need. Such a nice home on the second floor, with an awesome front porch to sit on. The town of Melrose is really nice, and so close to Boston. If I am back in the area I would 100% book this place again.

We enjoyed our stay. It was quiet, comfortable and clean. Communication was great and so were the recommendations.

Our week was filled with a multitude of Harvard Graduation Events challenged by 90 degree heat, intense rain and impossible parking. The house in Melrose was a home away from home.
We were able to cook and sit and talk and rest well before heading into town for a most momentous event for our son. The apartment offers light, space, architectural integrity and close proximity to parks that offer amazing hikes as well as pickle ball down the street and an outcropping of rocks that my husband and I performed daily Tai Chi in beauty and silence.
Fresh and wholesome food is available at local grocery stores as well as at local restaurants.
And the front porch was visited every morning and evening to reflect on our day with a cup of coffee or tea.
We certainly would stay at Melrose House again.

We enjoyed the neighborhood with Main St just a couple blocks away and a park across the street. Melrose was a great jumping off point for day trips in and around Boston. Salem was just 30 minutes away and we were able to make it up to Ogunquit, Maine in just a little over an hour. The home was comfortable and worked perfectly for our family.

Exceptional place to stay in Melrose! Quiet neighborhood, convenient location. Sarah is very quick to reply to messages, and checking in and out are super easy. Plenty of supplies in the large kitchen. Good quality sheets and towels. I highly recommend and will stay here again!

This apartment was the perfect amount of space with the perfect amenities in a perfect location! The town of Melrose is beautiful with plenty of dining and shopping within walking distance. We were a short drive from Concord, Salem, and downtown Boston. It was easy to take public transportation if needed.
This was the cleanest rental property I have stayed in. I loved that hand soap, dish soap, and bath soap were provided, especially since I forgot to pack my bath soap! The apartment was well-furnished and comfortable. The decor was delightful and perfect for the space.
We look forward to staying here again- hopefully in slightly warmer weather!

Nice neighborhood. Pickleball court at end of street. Close to transit for commute to Boston. Grocery nearby.
Sarah and Brandon were very attentive and quick to answer questions and resolve any issues ( clocked sink)

This was a great place to stay for our girls trip to Salem. The apartment was clean, very comfortable and homie. We were within walking distance to the downtown area and close to public transportation. The only slight down fall was the staircase going up to the apartment. It was a struggle getting our luggage up and down. We would definitely stay here again though.

Overall a great house for families - bunk beds, an entire play area in the attic, and a playground at the end of the street! The owner was super responsive and answered all of my questions, even late at night. Would highly recommend if you’re going anywhere in downtown Boston or the surrounding areas!
We had a few minor complaints, so wanting to make others with families aware for their stay. First, there was no shampoo or conditioner provided so we had to go get some at the store. And even though it is clearly a house for families with young kids, no kid-friendly utensils, cups, or plates were available. Lastly, we couldn’t find extra blankets so when we got chilly, we couldn’t find any to add to beds or use on the couch.
But those were minor inconveniences compared to the overall stay - we had to drag our kids out of the attic because they were having such a great time!

Everything about this place was perfect. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything and anything you would need to make a meal. More than enough towels and wash cloths for showering; which is rare! Even a blow dryer! The place is absolutely charming, and spotless! When our flight was delayed and we didn't get in until midnight, Sarah left a light on for us. We reached out to her a couple of times regarding transportation, and she was quick to respond with helpful tips for us. My daughters and I all said, "We could totally live here!" There's even a play area upstairs, ideally for younger children, but my adult daughters couldn't resist a puppet show. The front porch is quaint and a perfect spot for morning coffee or an afternoon cocktail. The location is in a quiet safe neighborhood and is perfect for visiting nearby local towns, heading to the coast, or into Boston. We'd stay here again in a heartbeat! Thank you again Sarah!

The property neighborhood was idyllic and perfectly placed for our day trips to Salem, Rockport, and Boston. Sarah was gracious in advising us how to manage the T into Boston, however finding a parking spot at the T terminal was a challenge at 11 AM; consider walking to T terminal. Living quarters were expansive, clean, and well equipped.
We had a wonderful experience. Thank you, Sarah!!

An excellent place with off-street parking. Nice neighbourhood and close to shopping. The place is clean with a cool historic vibe, but with all necessary amenities. Really enjoyed the covered porch in the front where we had morning coffee on the rocking chairs. Highly recommended and we would love to return.

Beautiful 2nd floor. Spacious with lovely front and back porch. Great location. Hot water! We truly enjoyed are stay. We were able to keep the front and back doors open; allowing the screen doors to cool the living areas. Bedroom air conditioners kept the rooms cool with the doors shut.

We stayed here while visiting Boston and Salem. It was a perfect location! The town of Melrose is adorable, and the apartment was perfect. It had plenty of space and everything we could possibly need. It was a beautiful retreat after busy days of sightseeing.

The second floor apartment more than met our needs for a six day vacation focused in Boston and the surrounding area (Boston, Salem, Cape Ann area). Communication with Sarah and check in were a breeze and access to Boston was simple via car; if you are driving I recommend using the car to/from Boston. Parking at Boston Common garage was very affordable and the drive was easy.
Melrose itself has some great little restaurants to check out (Colette Bakery for breakfast pastries in a true French style and Mexico Lindo were two of our faves).
The weather was varied, but when it was very hot the apartment was also pretty warm so we were thankful for the AC in the bedrooms.
The rental listing is 100% accurate and I would recommend it to anyone considering a trip to the area.

This is a beautiful property and far away enough from the city but close to public transportation to get into Boston easily.
Sarah was quick to respond to all my questions prior to the trip, including how to navigate the subway.

Sarah has the perfect location! Walkable location to restaurants, easy drive or mass transit ride to Boston. The home immaculate and roomy with ample space for 5. My favorite - having coffee on the porch!

Squeaky clean home with plenty of room in a traditional Bostonian neighborhood. Loved the large homes in the area. Close to the Orange line MBTA station to get in and out of Boston to see the sights. Would def stay again, one of the best vrbos we have stayed at.

The property was very nice. We had a small issue while there and it was taken care of within a half hour. Sarah was helpful and knowledgeable. I would stay there again and would recommend to others.

Such a cute house and location. Had everything we needed, also walking distance from the town. Ubers come out there and it’s not crazy expensive to get to Boston. Would definitely stay here again if/when we come back!

Stayed here to run the Boston Marathon. Had a group of five and there was plenty of room. The apartment is lovely, Nice quiet location, pretty downtown area within walking distance. Not as close to downtown Boston as I might have liked but not as expensive as staying there. Nearby trails were nice. Was able to check in early, which helped a lot. Communication with manager was great!

My group had a very comfortable and relaxing few days. The place is beautifully maintained, very clean and well-kept! It’s set in a historic town minutes from downtown Boston. I highly recommend this location for anyone who’s looking to feel like they’re in a home away from home.

We enjoyed our stay alot. The appartment is very huge. We enjoyed the spacy modern rooms. The kids loved their bunk beds. Everything was thought of. Kitchen was fully equipped. We could ride the train for about 30 minutes to Boston downtown city and could relax in the evenings on the wonderful porch. We can definetly recommend this flat. Sarah was very helpful and responsive too.

Our family stayed here for a short trip to Boston and Salem. At the last minute we decided to stay an extra day. The property owner was quick to answer our request and was able to add the extra day without incident. The home was extremely clean, and was appointed with every comfort item you could wish for. The AC units in the bedrooms were a life saver since the temps at that time were in the 90’s.. they even helped cool the rest of the house during the day. The location was close to a grocery store, a community park, and Downtown Melrose. The house is located close to the commuter rail, which was pretty easy to use, even for a tourist. And it’s a short drive to Salem from Melrose. Overall, it was a great experience staying at the location, I highly recommend it, and would definitely bring my family there again.
