Perfect place for a quiet getaway.

Loved the location, loved the outlook. Village within walking distance, facilities provided everything we needed. Lovely location to sit back & enjoy the serenity.

Recommended to us by friends and it didn't disappoint

Great location and good lounge and kitchen facilities. Easy parking. Lovely view - so very pleased with cottage No 8.

Everything was good. Maybe bathroom suited No 1 bedroom better than No 2 bedroom. (but that's minor)

1. Location - peaceful, across the road from Metung board walk and lake. 2. Spacious - large open plan kitchen, dining and living room combined, one bedroom, bathroom (with a shower), toilet and balcony. 3. Free Wifi and Netflix. 4. Well equipped, modern kitchen (coffee machine was a bonus). 5. Washing machine. 6. Toiletries were provided. 7. Reverse cycle A/C. 8. Access to games room, swimming pool and sauna.

1. Old style window in the toilet with a permanent opening, meant that it was absolutely freezing in there.

Good but not great

Overall the resort had ticked the right boxes. Good location, the correct facilities. Playground and games room was entertaining for the kids. Location was good too - we enjoyed the 21 min walk into town, and we took the opportunity to rent a boat from just up the road.

However, if I had to rate cleanliness, it'll be just okay. Comfortable but not great, and that relates to the cottage (different cottages had different levels of refurbishment), the pool and games room, etc. What struck me as very odd for hospitality is that if you checked in after 5pm, you might have to wait over an hour for the manager if he was offsite (as I was told). There were 4 missed calls to the manager post 5pm too but he did answer on the 5th attempt. The resort did try to contact on the day itself but that's all pretty new and odd to me. So if you are staying at McMillans of Metung, just aim to check in before 5pm.

Location, lovely walk along boardwalk into town. Grounds and faculties very nice, especially games room. Firm, comfortable beds.

Stale smell upon entering cabin. Cheap soap on tap and tissues. Kmart coach cushions which felt dirty. Coffee machine didn't work (caretaker promptly replaced with his) and Aldi coffee pods. Outside front door light didn't work. All of above should have been checked and of higher quality to reflect what we were paying and to have made experience feel more up market.

Excellent stay for two nights.

Fabulous cottage on the site. Really felt that we were in the relaxed area we wanted. Shops and bars in walking distance. Bird life in the resort was incredible.

Very wonderful cottage and enjoyed the stay

Metung is a hidden gem, and McMillans is excellent value.

The unit had been renovated and had a great feel to it, with good kitchen, dining, and lounge facilities. The outdoor tables on the verandah were nicely positioned, with a distant water view over the extensive, rambling lawns. Bedrooms and bathrooms were modern and well presented with sleeping capacilty for a platoon of kids (albeit NA in our case). The pub and (limited) shopping is within pleasant walking distance for most people. Book if you wish to eat the pub. We stayed at the property several years ago and were happy to return.

Quiet location , great accommodation.

Great accommodation in a beautiful tranquil location. We felt very relaxed after staying here and will definitely be back! Our room had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Good location to do a bit of fishing and had an amazing massage from Heather at Bodiwise right next door..

Apart from some negatives we had a good time.

Beautiful grounds, very clean, modern stylishly fitted out cottage. We stayed in cottage No 6.

Description said cottage (No 6) is on ground level, but there’s a set of stairs (4 or 5) from carport down to entrance door, also description doesn’t mention that there’s a lower level with another bedroom & en-suite so don’t know if that level is available to book with Cottage 6 or not. Upper level has 2 balcony doors (one from lounge area and one from second bedroom). Not very safe for children (or even adults in my opinion) as there’s a steep set of stairs on the balcony to ground level and handrail only starts part way down the stairs with only top edge of glass balustrade around the top section to hold onto for the first few steps. Balcony door from lounge can hit (& potentially break) the window glass as there’s no door stopper or latch to hold it away from glass (staff are aware of this issue apparently). Range-hood above stove wasn’t working. Window screens have gaps around the edges so big insects and a spider (Huntsman) entered room I was sleeping in. Single bed I slept in (second bedroom) was narrow so more suited to children than adults. The bathroom is nice with good shower & includes a washer & dryer. Toilet is inside bathroom but behind a separate door, but can’t use toilet if someone is showering unless they don’t need privacy.
