Nice, Clean, Deer on site, just down the road from Bandera. BBQ pit and fire pit. Drains in both showers could be improved!

Very nice house, clean, comfortable, great porch and nice walk to the river.

This was a lovely stay and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Great views from the porch of huge deer, turkey, hawks, etc. Very, very quiet. Very very comfortable.

What a beautiful, quiet place where the only sounds at night are from the wildlife, and your blanket of stars is endless!

Beautiful cabin in a great area, property is secluded, quiet, and peaceful. I highly recommend staying at this property if you are a nature lover and want to be in the middle of the Texas Hill Country.

Great Place to Stay
Nice house, everything you need! Short walk to river but was very low, hoping for rain! Best part was the wildlife around the house. Couple of river spots with a little water, but no need for floats and tubes. Just playing and sitting in the water was the options close by. Apple Store in the town of Medina had great food! Would like to stay again once the Medina River is flowing better.

We enjoyed our visit and are already talking about when we can come back. We saw deer, turkey and sheep. Enjoyed the fire pit and the stars.

Quiet Getaway
The property was exactly as advertised. The cabin was very clean and spacious. Lots of wildlife to watch. Our children really enjoyed exploring during the short hikes down to the lazy river, and they loved roasting hot dogs over the fire pit at night. We would definitely come back again.

We were needing to get away for some quiet and relaxing time and this place had it. The house was great and had everything we needed but the location was the best. We walked down to the river and sat on the back porch watching the variety of wildlife that came out to eat the corn that we threw out.
Besides the whitetail, we had black buck, axis, wild pigs, and mouflon sheep. We did go for a drive through the hill country and then stopped in town at the apple store and had lunch and brought some delicious apple pie back with us.
We will definitely be back when we can stay a little longer.

We had a wonderful stay, property and cabin were absolutely as advertised and pictured. Cabin was clean and updated. The River was a short walk on a well maintained path. River access is fantastic, shallow enough for small kids and deeper in parts for bigger kids to swim. Crystal clear water in a private and secluded location. We saw deer at all times of day and at night saw more stars than we’ve ever seen before.
Cabin was well stocked with necessities like trash bags, toilet paper etc. Only small criticism would be that the tap water wasn’t great for drinking so would recommend brining bottled water.

Nice Getaway
We had a great time during our stay at the cabin. The interior is well taken care of and being able to watch all of the animals from the porch is a lot of fun.

Really enjoyed our stay at the Medina cabin. It was just two of us, so we only used the master suite and the one additional bathroom. There are two other bedrooms, with multiple beds/bunks, that could sleep bunches of kids, who would be very happy there. The place seems very new, and regardless, very clean. Kitchen is simple and functional (didn’t use it much). Good layout and space. From San Antonio airport, just over an hour drive (through Boerne and Bandera). Places to eat in Bandera and also Kerrville (north about 30 minutes). Lots of recreational options, including just a 5 minute stroll to the Medina River from the back deck. Improvement opportunities: clear check-out instructions, and better stocked things like dishwasher pods. According to my ladyfriend, the female-friendly amenities (lotions, conditioners, etc) could be upgraded. But these are nitpicks. We really enjoyed the stay and definitely would return. Thanks to the Forrests for hosting us. DAC

Secluded Getaway
We absolutely loved our stay at the cabin! My little family needed a getaway and change of pace from Covid-life, and the cabin in Medina was just perfect. The enjoyed siting on the porch to watch the wildlife in the mornings and our toddler loved exploring by the river and throwing rocks in the water. The firepit was nice for evening fun too. We took a daytrip over to Lost Maples for the beautiful fall colors. The cabin was very clean and comfortable with plenty of space. Think we'll be planning another trip in the spring/summer!

Beautiful Medina River!
The river was at the back end of the property, which was great. The water was very low when we went which was great for the small children, not so good for the bigger ones! It was very close to town to pick up forgotten necessities. Very clear river and nice accommodations.

Family getaway!
We loved our stay here! Our 3 young boys couldn't get enough time in the river & playing outside exploring the property. We can't wait to come back!

Beautiful
We had such a great time at the property. Such a relaxing, peaceful time. We enjoyed all the scenery and watching the wildlife. The river is crystal clear and refreshing. We will be back!

Relaxing fun in country and on river
Beautiful Texas Hill Country with river access. We loved watching the deer and other wildlife. We floated the river two days and had so much fun with our own tubes. We started one trip at the property and floated to the 3 mile bridge (I think), then another day floated from the Paradise Park to the property. Well, float and hike! It was great fun! House is fabulous! Slept large extended family comfortably.

Perfect getaway
We had a great time, grilled, swam explored and relaxed. The house is great, clean and everything we needed.

Brief family retreat
The eight of us enjoyed the relaxation of the river with all the amenities. We were able to see many deer at all times of the day.

Great Place!
This place is fantastic! The layout of the house is perfect. In the mornings, it was great to see the deers eating at a nice distance and hear the birds singing while sitting out on the porch drinking coffee. During the day, it was great to walk to the river and get in that cold water. Unfortunately, this year the water on the river is low and we had to walk up the river a short distance to find a good spot to get in the water. In the late afternoons, the porch gives you some shade to grill the perfect meal on the charcoal bbq pit. And in the evenings, it was great to start the fire to make some s'mores and enjoy the stars. The only thing that you have to keep in mind is that this is a pet friendly place and removing all of the pet hairs inside the house is nearly impossible. Overall, the house was very clean and the kitchen had all of the utensils needed to make our meals.
4.8
Hill country quiet getaway
Great property, would had been better if river was floatable, but it was too low. Kids need more distractions. Adults always enjoy the quiet, wish there was board games to preoccupy the kids, or a pool. Refrigerator wasn’t cooling so just had to make do with ice chest.

Relaxing getaway
We were looking for a secluded place where our family could get in some much-needed R & R while continuing to socially distance, and this place fit the bill. The private river access is beautiful, and we spent as much time as we could hanging out in the water or lazing on the shore. There are soaring cypress trees, and we were able to hang a hammock in the shade. You can drive down to the river in just a couple of minutes or make the short (lovely) walk. We saw so many deer but no other people during our entire 4-day visit. The back porch is such a great place to hang out, and we also enjoyed the fire pit. The kitchen was adequate for cooking, although the dishwasher was on the fritz while we were there. Beds were comfortable, and there was plenty of space to spread out. Our 12-year-old has already asked when we can go back!

Very Relaxing
The location was perfect for our getaway. The children enjoyed playing outdoors and watching the deer. The city river access was close to the property .

Perfect Getaway
My family and I loved our stay at River Bend. The cabin was beautiful and had everything we needed. We enjoyed the easy access to the river during the day and watching all of the wildlife on the property in the evening. The river is shallow enough that small children can play. The cabin was very clean and comfortable. We can't wait to stay here again.
4.8
Great river location!
The house is close enough to the river to walk. We enjoyed floating in the river. And we loved watching the deer at sunset. You could count on deer as the deer feeder went off each evening. There was plenty of room for 5 of us, and cooking was easy.

Relaxing River Weekend
The River Bend Hideaway was a wonderful place to spend the weekend. Very clean and well stocked with everything we needed for a relaxing stay. We spent hours enjoying the river which is just a short walk or drive down a lovely little path. The back porch provides a great view and breeze for watching the many birds and deer in the area. We loved our stay and hope to be back soon. Thank you!
