We needed a 3 to 4 bedroom house for a girls trip to Grand Rapids and this property fit the bill well. Reviews from previous guests described it as an older, well-kept and very clean house, which was spot on. The kitchen was well furnished, plenty of towels in both bathrooms and the linens on all beds were fresh and comfy. The 2 downstairs bedroom were not fancy, but definitely adequate. The 2 upstairs bedrooms were more spacious, as was the upstairs bathroom. All mattresses were great and the beds even had a nice throw for those inevitable afternoon naps. Mitten Properties was great to work with and the house is well located in GR.

Nice space in a perfect location near my daughter’s wedding venue.
Upon arrival, we noticed aunts in the kitchen and living room. We purchased some aunt traps which seemed to help.
Empty pizza boxes on porch must have been overlooked by cleaning team.

Went to see the town for a short getaway with friends. Nice location. Close to downtown area. Bedrooms were perfect for our group of friends. Older home but overall clean.
4.7
Older house, but lots of room. Great location that is close to everything. Lots of space in the house. Worked great for us in town with a trade show at Devos. Very easy and organized Check in and check out. Would recommend for sure.

This house was the perfect location to go tour around Grand Rapids. Alot within walking distance! Really enjoyed our stay!

Stayed with a few business associates. We needed a central location and meeting space. This house served the purpose and the management was very accommodating and responsive.

We came to Grand Rapids to visit breweries and this place was perfectly located to walk to everything. The house was old but in great shape, very clean and cozy. The beds were excellent and there is a great coffee shop right around the corner. Check in/out was extremely easy and communication with the Mitten was very easy and they were very responsive.

We did a short weekend and this house suited our purposes. The neighborhood is interesting. Lot of college students walking around, and a few drunks possibly homeless people too. Beds were good. It is an older house with no central AC like the other reviews stated but there were units where needed that worked great. Perfect amount of bedrooms so everyone had their own bed. Only con was more with the cleaning crew prior to our stay than the house itself. There were blueberries at the bottom of the fridge that weren't cleaned up and there were wet towels/mops in the washing machine. The garage is a bit of an issue too. Difficult to pull in with a larger SUV due to pillars at the parking lot right across. Ended up parking in the street after the first attempt at the garage.

Even though this was an older home it met our needs. Owner was super communicative and made sure everything was ok. We had a party of 7.
4.7
Overall we had a good time. There is a small issue with having to plug the window unit A/C into a different outlet because we kept tripping the breaker. After trial and error, we found a solution. The house was in a decent area and within walking distance to most things. Check in was a breeze

The location was great and the house was clean. It is a old house that is nice but a little less than we expected. Worked perfect and was a good location. Easy spot to get to the city by scooter.

Stayed for two nights to explore the city, the place was perfect for that. Great location that was close to everything we wanted to get to. Communication with the host and overall process was easy.

This was my 1st doing a Verbo so I was nervous. Upon arrival and entering, the house was very charming and upon inspection, it came with far more amenities than standard. All functions of a proper home were offered. The Mater bedroom was very nice with a rocking chair and canopy bed! The Mattress made me feel like I could sleep for a week or so. The actual home is located very near a store, restaurant, and coffee shop. An extended stay was needed last minute and was able to be granted graciously. I definitely will keep this property in consideration upon travels.
4.7
We had no prior GR info so were delighted with the location. We made it to good restaurants, the Art Museum and the Zoo. The house is older and not really well set up for in house entertaining (family only) but we truly enjoyed our stay.

While we reserved this property for a group that was traveling to Grand Rapids for an Expo, we actually had to change dates once it was rescheduled early spring. The process to change dates was easy enough. By the time of our reservation, our group got significantly smaller than planned. We were down to two of us. This property would have been great for our group if we had gone in full, but it was still just as perfect for two of us. Easy to find and within minutes to downtown where our event was. We could not figure out the garage but there was ample parking on the street. I really liked the photo check in process. Working the security key lock took us country mice a minute to figure out but we got it. We felt safe in and around the house. The decor fit the house and was very tasteful. We ended up snuggling on the couch to watch a Netflix movie our last night. In all it was a great weekend getaway and the experience the house offered was top notch.
4.7
Was close to everything and had the space we needed. Parking wasn't fun because it was Parking on the street or in a garage that was hard to get in and out of. House had lots if space but it's an old house. Was a good experience though in Grand Rapids.

The positive: This property is in a very good location, the property manager is responsive
The negative: The house is very old, not an issue in itself but it is quite worn. It doesn't have central air (as expected) so they've put a window air conditioner on the main floor and 2 stand alone units in the bedrooms upstairs. When we arrived it was very hot weather and we turned on the 3 air conditioners which promptly blew a fuse. To get help with service/maintenance you cannot place a call. You have to send messages through VRBO. I will say they responded quickly but it took many messages back and forth to get the help we needed - which was to go through the floor access in a closet to the 100 yr old cellar (approx, haha) and reset the fuse. This worked for a minute and then blew again. On our own, we rerouted the extension cord for the window air conditioner through the dining room and into the kitchen which seemed to help.
The air conditioner in an upstairs bedroom did not work still, and it had leaked water all over the carpet - puddles stood. We began messaging service again and they sent a very pleasant person to help. He emptied the water from the AC unit, and it began working, but the floor was still soaking wet. By the next evening, the room smelled awful and our guest could not sleep there. Also, the bed broke in the same room and although we attempted to fix it, with the smell and the likelihood of it breaking again, our guest slept on the couch downstairs. We did not bother messaging service again because it was late (by the time we returned home that evening) and we were planning to leave early the next morning.
Last, 2 of our guests say they saw a rodent run by the heat grate inside the ductwork.
After our stay, when I contacted Mitten Housing who manages the house and asked for a partial refund because we were essentially unable to use one of the bedrooms, they suggested that we should have begun the messaging process with them again late on our last night to fix the horrible wet carpet smell and the broken bed. I'm not sure how they planned to fix these things before we left the next morning but, because we did not, we are not due any refund and really no apology either.
I'm sure they will respond to this review. But you, the future guest of the house, please consider whether it's worth the price.

My adult kids and three small grandkids enjoyed our time together while attending our son's wedding in Rockford. The home was large enough for 8 adults, and included thoughtful kid friendly items like toys, a crib, a pack and play, child sized towels, etc. The neighborhood was a little noisy on Saturday night, but we felt safe. It was very local to many things to do and see in Grand Rapids.
