Lovely quiet Balinese type hotel very nice staff and well kept property.
A bit far from the beach

I had a wonderful stay at Kiri Palu. The villa, the decoration, the garden, the food ( I need to shoutout for all the tummy love I received) but most importantly, the staff was one of a kind. Staying there as a young woman during my solo travel, I have felt so secure and well-served. Hotel is very convenient for families who want to have private time as well. Hotel has a generation and doesn’t affect from power-cuts.
Hotel is well located. It’s 5-7 mins walking distance to main road called Matara Road where you can go to the nearest beach in Ahangama. Also, very well located for other attractions like Galle Fort and Weligama.
Staff team, from top Management Mr. Suni to the driver Kasun, I can’t say enough thank you for arranging all my needs so smoothly and never bailed on me during my stay. Manager, Mr. Suni gathered a really team of staff. Special thanks to Suni.

Very beautiful property and rooms, the location is a bit remote but that is what we were looking for, it is very peaceful and quiet and yet close enough with a Tuk Tuk to get to Welingama or Mirissa. The breakfast was very delicious. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
The room was a bit dusty, especially the closet/cupboard. Dinner seems quite expensive in comparison to what it was (in comparison to other places we stayed in), and it was a bit too „western“ for us, but if you are looking for more western food then it might be just perfect for you (we really enjoyed Sri Lankan food when we were in Sri Lanka) - the Sri Lankan breakfast however was very delicious :)

great and friendly staff, quiet location, unique setting with beautiful garden, small menu but good selection of western and local food in case you don’t want to eat out
for us it was nothing to dislike - on the contrary - but some might find the location a bit too far from the tourist beaches of Midigama, you’d need tuk tuk or scooter

Kiri Palu was a little calm oasis. Attentive staff, beautiful swimming pool and nice decor. Set in a tranquil location close to the hussle and bustle in Ahangama.

Very beautiful territory. Big comfortable room, very helpful and welcoming staff. Beautiful and relaxing pool area.
I was staying in the room which is connected to the main dining area of all guests, so in the morning from my room i could hear people having breakfast and chatting and kid playing with the bell. So if you want quite morning better ask different room.)

This is a very nice hotel set away from the main street of Ahangama. It's basically a villa with a few rooms and lovely grounds where you're free to chill and kick back. The pool is wonderful, and we loved looking at the birds throughout the day. The staff are excellent; always willing to do whatever you ask. We especially liked the Sri Lankan breakfast option.
The only downside for us is location. If you're coming to Ahangama to surf then you might need to fork out quite a bit on tuk tuks to get around. There's one break at the bottom of the road but it's fickle. The others are about 5-10 minute tuk tuk away.

Kiri Palu is a very beautiful place, so quiet you only hear the birds and other animals in the jungle, the food was amazingly good, and the whole staff so kind and helpful… a real place of paradise. we spent 2 amazing weeks there, can’t wait to go back!

This was the most magical, relaxed and luxurious stay during my Sri Lanka trip. The location in mid of all the jungle green, but also the beach is down the street. The room was so beautiful and comfy and over the top clean. I was traveling alone and wanted a calm stay after my intense yoga retreat. I felt so home and safe here - will come back def! Ps: food is good! They the Sri Lankan breakfast :)
I loved everything!

Kiri Palu is truly one of the most beautiful places I have ever stayed at around the globe. It is located in a quite but central corner of Ahangama, just in the heart of jungle. This is the place of a unique style, comfort and so much relaxing. The rooms are comfortable and very clean. The beds, linen and pillows make you sleep as a kid every night. The pool is just wow and very clean. The chef serves a very good food, I really liked it more than in the most of the local restaurants. The staff is amazing, they were so kind trying to accomodate my every wish and making my stay at Kiri Palu unforgettable and divine.

Beautiful hotel- old Ceylon style, its beauty is truly amazing. Very elegant, very good quality of furnitures, decoration, style and overall setup of buildings.
Breakfast is rich and deliscious- we chose sri lankan local breakfast and it was very nice.
We received nice welcome drinks+ 2 bottles of welcome water.
We really liked that the staff provided extra water for breakfast and dinner.
Pool water is nice and warm, pool is beautiful and sunbeds are comfortable. It is great that the pool has no specific opening hours- we could enjoy it any time during day or night.
Poor quality of wifi- internet was often fading in the room.
Staff is kind but they hardly speak English- they did not explain or show us anything at our arrival (breakfast time, facility). According to our booking our suite was supposed to have kitchen - but the room did not have any kitchen equipment inside.
It turned out only on our last evening that there was a big kitchen Next to our room for our usage, but we were not aware of it and nobody told us about it.
We agreed before arrival that we would pay our accomodation fee in EUR. But they did not inform us that the hotel would calculate a very bad exchange rate for EUR. At this moment in Sri Lanka 1 EUR= 230 LKR, or more (sometimes even 240-245 LKR). The hotel calculated only 218 LKR for 1 EUR.
We paid in EUR in many other hotels during our stay on the island, and every hotel exchanged EUR in a good rate except this one. This left a bad taste in our mouths.
The room was full of insects: spiders, mosquitos and ants. This is quite understandable in Sri Lanka, but this was the only hotel where we also encountered cockroach in the room. We also had gekkos all the time.
I believe it is uneccapteble for a hotel of this quality to have so many animals in the rooms - especially cockroach. This could be avoided if bathroom windows were not fully open (meaning: they are without glass), and if the rooms didn’t have 1-2 cm-s of holes under the doors.

loud water pump, no mosquito net in the bathroom window, so room full of them. a full night without electricity. not ok for 100 dollar a night

Beautiful place with excellent service. Nature is breathtaking. Amazing pool. Calm and quiet. Please try the food there (tempura prawns😍). Risking lack of future availability I must say this is the best place I stayed in South Sri Lanka during my 4 country visits. Oh, the bed - most comfortable. Mattress, pillows bedsheets - all excellent.
Probably adding power generator to the facilities and stronger WiFi. But I know they are working on it. And the place is much more suitable for leisure than work)))

The hotel is stunning and upon arrival I was met with the warmest welcome I have ever experienced. There is a real homely feel to the hotel and I would love to come back soon.
The grounds are beautiful, with lots of trees attracting wildlife and birds singing. Monkeys are swinging in the trees and a lovely pair of dogs are strutting about - it is so calm and peaceful.
The staff are so warm and helpful, they couldn't do enough for me, and made me the most delicious food. The helped arranged tuk tuks into neighbouring areas and a taxi back to the airport.
I'd love to see the hotel as a wedding venue, I think it could really do well.
I love that there is a conscious effort to keep single use plastic/items out of the rooms and facilities. There is too much on the island already and this hotel was refreshing in its lack. They provide shower gel and shampoo in glass bottles, filtered water in the rooms and a refill station in the kitchen - please keep up with this, I think it's great! X
I was in the upstairs room of the main house (gorgeous suite!), but the WiFi didn't reach the bedroom. Management are aware and are fixing asap. This is the only reason it is a 9.9 and not a 10.
