Excellent Stay

Mami, the proprietor, provided excellent communication from day one of my booking. I appreciated the flexibility to check in a bit early. The room exceeded expectations – clean, spacious, and well-heated, with clear instructions for a comfortable stay. The bathroom was impressive, equipped with all the necessary amenities. In the morning, I had delicious Japanese breakfast to start my day! My stay truly offered great value for money, and I highly recommend it.

Amazing

Absolutely brilliant. Cannot fault. Mami was lovely and made us a beautiful breakfast each morning. Loved trying the Japanese breakfast and she made my daughter eggs and toast. Coffee was fresh from machine. Lovely clean room and bathroom. Kettle and tea/coffee in room. Towels provided. Good Wi-Fi. Quick 5 minute drive to city centre. Would definitely return on next visit

Relaxing and pleasant.

Mami the host was lovely and very welcoming. Quiet area with beautiful views. House was very clean and well kept.

Sometimes cold but was quickly resolved by host.

This stay has added additional memories to my holiday

I like the property so much. It is like dream home. Mami is so kind and nice person. She cooks delicious Japanese food. I would want to stay here again whenever I come to Bath.

Thee is no single point that I didn’t like during my stay.

The house is tasteful decorated and spotless clean. It is very spacious and we loved the Japanese breakfast the most. Mami is a wonderful host.

A homely experience for B&B fans with a wonderful Japanese twist

A terrific B&B. Mami was a great host - friendly and attentive. The rooms were cosy and homely and the bathrooms were great. We loved the breakfast! Great to have the option of Japanese.

Superb

We loved our room, the bed was very comfortable and the house is in a quiet neighborhood. The host was very nice, friendly and helpful and it was a great experience to try the Japanese breakfast. Highly recommend!

The only thing we would have like differently is to have a TV in our room, but that says more about us than about the guesthouse.

I liked the welcome from the host, communication was very good by text before our arrival, our luggage was taken up to the room and a nice choice of breakfast

Room was clean and comfortable, basic no TV but that didn't affect the enjoyment of the stay

excellent host, limited facilities in room. would I stay again if for 1 night - yes!

Communication throughout was excellent. Host was so welcoming offering tea/coffee on our arrival (probably as no facilities in room). Room was clean and comfortable. Option of Japanese breakfast was a great experience.

Limited hanging space in bedroom - was only a couple of hooks on the back of the bedroom door - fine if only staying 1 night. small table to one side of the bed, would have been nice to have something on the other side of the bed to put glasses/phone on rather than having to put on the floor next to the bed. No TV in room but maybe that adds to the ZEN.

A lovely stay at The Zen House

Nice clean room with a good size bathroom (Nice Shower!). Breakfast was simple but very tasty, eaten with a relaxing view of the lovely garden. The host was very friendly and made us feel welcome. The Zen House is quite close to the park and ride making it easy to get into the city centre.

No real issues to be honest, maybe breakfast could be a little bit bigger. I could have done with some extra pillows for the bed as they are a bit too soft for me (just my preference), I didnt find this out till I went to sleep. (Bed was very comfy despite this)

Very good choice of breakfast, Japanese or continental / British. I chose scrambled egg which was cooked to perfection. Excellent en-suite with a large and ultra clean toilet & shower. Large and very comfortable bed. Warm room. Large well furnished lounge with TV offering plenty of channels, comfortable sofa and a wonderful rocking chair. Plenty of off road in the parking in the driveway and very close proximity to Bath's Park & Ride.

I would like to add something here to give a balanced view, but nothing comes to mind.

Zen-tastic 2-night stay in Bath! Highly recommended stay!

I really liked where the place is located. It's not too far from the city center, and it's also peaceful. This has also probably been one of the cleanest and peaceful homes I've been in throughout my stay in England. Awesome. I also love Mami's hospitality. She has been very kind and friendly throughout my stay! And the free breakfast is much appreciated. I truly felt welcomed throughout my stay. Zen House truly lives up to its name of being zen. I hope I can go back again.

I just did not really like the lack of a table in the room. I could not eat properly in the room if I wished. It could be helpful if there is at least one table a guest could use, other than having just a chair. I would also suggest that if there will be some sort of removable non-slip mat on the tub & shower. Although it might not really add to the aesthetic of the bathroom, it can be more safe to shower especially for elderly guests, to help avoid accidents from slipping and the like.

A MUST-STAY. Mama Sugiyama is the most wonderful host, everything was absolutely perfect, very ‘Zen’.

The best stay we had all trip. Above everything else is just FELT lovely. Facilities were excellently clean and bed was very very comfortable. Lovely view of the garden from our room and beautiful Japanese breakfast included in the morning.
