Irvington Spring Farm is truly a one-of-a-kind property. It's perfectly tucked away - a remote nature getaway only a few minutes from restaurants, groceries, universities, and all the conveniences of Lynchburg city. Large windows pull the beauty of the outdoors in year round.

This listing is for the entire 4400 sq. ft main farmhouse, which includes one of two smaller suites offered on AirBnb. (See our profile for listings about the smaller suites.)

We encourage our guests to walk around the farm which is 150 ft from the suite. Relax, be still and enjoy the sights, sounds and vistas. Fish in the pond. Grab a life jacket and use our canoe. Sweat out toxins in the sauna. Have a glass of wine at sunset. Let our gardens be a respite from your busyness.

This custom built farmhouse is our personal residence. Nature abounds all around it, with a huge backyard, pollinator gardens and a new cottage garden. The house and grounds were carefully designed and built over a period of 20 years. They've been lovingly furnished, decorated and planted.

You may enter either through the front door, or through a side entrance, each with a smart lock and personalized code.

Here's what you can expect to find in the Irvington Spring Farm House:

MAIN HOUSE: A huge gourmet kitchen/living room is at the center of an open floorplan overflowing with natural light and nature views. The kitchen has commercial grade appliances, leatherized granite countertops, and a large island. Step down from the kitchen to a sunny breakfast room. The dining room features a custom-made table that seats 14. Two inviting living areas with TV's increase the possibilities for gathering: one living area just steps off the kitchen has a fireplace made of historic cobblestones.

Upstairs, the master bedroom w/ queen bed and master bath is on one side, and three additional bedrooms on the other. The three bedrooms share a full bathroom with a jacuzzi-type tub & shower. Five skylights let the sun in through the gambrel roof.

SUNFLOWER SUITE: The spacious second living area is part of a 2 story wing off the kitchen we refer to as the Sunflower Suite. The large open downstairs room of the suite includes a smart TV, couches, a kids' corner filled with toys and games and desk/work area. Up to 4 can sleep in this room (sleeper sofa + futon), and the drop leaf table behind the couch can be used for dining or a game table. This room opens up through 3 different doors onto the beautiful back deck and yard, with an outdoor ping pong table and swings.

Upstairs in the Sunflower Suite is a private bedroom away from the other 4 bedrooms. It offers a queen bed, dresser & closet for hanging and storing clothes. The unique chair has the option to fold down into a small child-size bed for little ones. There is a full bathroom with tub/shower combo as well as a kitchenette/dining/sitting area with a king sized bed, fridge, dishware, coffee pot, and convection microwave.

EXTERIOR: The shaded front porch is a wonderful place to sit and let the world go by. At the back of the house, the breakfast room and sunflower suite open out into the backyard. Our pergola was custom-made of large cedar trees harvested on the farm. Roses and Clematis will eventually cover it completely. The fire pit (weather conditions permitting) warms things up on cool evenings.

There is a sauna in the woods about 50 feet away from the house. When we send check-in details we'll include the link to make sauna reservations so that everyone in your group can find a time that works for them when they'll have guaranteed privacy.

PARKING: We have parking for up to 6 cars in the cul-de-sac at the end of our driveway, as well as an "overflow" parking lot which you'll see labeled as you come up the driveway.

ABOUT THE FARM...

Irvington Spring Farm has been a family-owned working flower farm for the past 25 years. You'll find something new in the gardens or high tunnels each month... different things blooming, new things we’re working on, the inevitable change of nature and the seasons. We’re doing what we enjoy most - growing and selling flowers. Planting, weeding, cutting, and visiting with our guests bring us the greatest satisfaction.

While we only have blooming flowers from early March to late October, we're busy with farm chores year-round. If you enjoy gardening, you can see how it all gets done and possibly take new gardening ideas home, regardless of when you visit.

If you'd like, you are welcome to buy flowers by the bunch or bucket from the farm's cooler by picking out what you would like, and leaving your money or check in the basket on the shelf near the door.

If you plan to make use of the pond at the farm by fishing, swimming, or using the canoe and life jackets, you will to sign a waiver form. Just let us know when you make your reservation and our co-hosts will send that to you via email.

Our extended family of 10 adults and 6 kids rented all the spaces here for our brother's wedding (Main House + two separate apartments). The house was both cozy with high end touches. Tasteful in decor and design. Much nicer than even pictures can show. There was plenty of room in the house to accommodate everyone comfortably. We hosted 2 meals that included the bride's family and groomsmen who were are all staying elsewhere. Was so nice to have a big space to be able to host a meal at. Kitchen was well stocked with dishware/cultlery for serving meals for many people. The grounds... where do you start! I'm in love with this place! We came mid-october where the leaves were changing color. The forest of trees and landscaping here are stunning. Lots of time and effort have been spent making the outdoors a true oasis. A short walk through the flower garden and you have the pond for kayaking. When the volume inside was too loud, we would send the kiddos out to play outdoors! Volleyball court, sauna, pond, hammock, beautiful pergola.. The grounds are exceptional.

We cannot say enough to the hosts for providing the most peaceful place during one of the hardest transitional (dropping our firstborn off to college). Beautiful farmhouse, beautiful scenery, and exceptional hosts. Any time we come back for a visit we will stay again and again and again. My hubby made to tell me to leave a review as he said this was the most beautiful place for us to stay. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!
