A great place to stay with Wild West character, nestled between small mountains. The small cabins were very comfortable and had great front porches to watch spectacular sunsets and sunrises! My wife and I highly recommend it to other High Adventurer travelers! We will definitely be back next time we visit in the Big Bend area!

The Wow factor is rather high here. The setting is excellent. So quiet and peaceful. Accommodations were very good. Liked the way one reviewer put it “ basic luxury “. Met some really nice people that really enhanced the enjoyment of the place. Spent a lot of time around the camp fire. Had a great time. Wish we were closer. If so we would come back soon. Will definitely come back sometime. Highly recommended.

We had a wonderful 1 night stay at Ten Bits Ranch the night before we went backpacking in Big Bend! The instructions were clear and so much helpful information was given to us. We especially loved the kitchen area which was a great bonus! We will definitely book here again when in the area!

We were very pleasantly surprised by our stay at Ten Bits. The listing was detailed and accurate. The peaceful evenings, views and accommodations were just what we needed. Remote but conveniently close enough to the park. Communication with the hosts was quick and easy. We really enjoyed our stay.

The property was remote and quiet. We walked out our door and had an amazing view. The stargazing was spectacular at night!

I made reservations for two nights in two different cabins, but the property manager sent me the entrance code for the second night on my first night. The next morning, I called him to clarify and to understand if I was supposed to stay in the same cabin or move to the original cabin. He asked me to live the property, when I indicated that it was his mistake not mine. The complete reimbursement was never sent, only a partial amount was received. Terrible service!

Ten bits ranch is a great option for staying in Terlingua. It provides running water, electricity and wifi which are rare amenities in such a rustic place. The set up they have is cute. Looks like an old western town. There is no office or someone physically on the property. It is run remotely. So if there is a problem, that can be an issue. The road getting there is very rustic. You must have a truck and if it rains, it is not passable. We had to make our plans around the weather in hopes of not getting stuck on the road with no one to help us.
We stayed in the country store and it did not feel very clean. The floors were not clean when we arrived. Made me wonder what else hadn’t been cleaned prior to our arrival. But I suppose if you like rustic, you won’t mind that. We did though. We like to know we are in a well cleaned room prior to our arrival no matter how rustic the stay. Overall, we had no problems which is why I rated it this way.

This was the perfect place to stay during our Big Bend vacation. It is quiet, isolated, and gives one the feeling of being sent back in time.

This property is tucked away surrounded by red rock formations. It has a great sunset view and we enjoyed the fire pit in the evenings where we got to meet the neighbors. You drive in on a 2 mile dirt and gravel road but it is well maintained and the drive is worth it to be in your own western town. It is well taken care of and you have a dining hall to prepare your own food and eat. There is some very basic food there you will want to bring your own. Great place you won't be disappointed.

You'll find yourself stepping into a time portal of charm and old west sensibilities. Surrounded by a vista of Texas character and natural beauty this lil ranch will stay with you long after you leave - and let me warn you - you will not want to leave.

Overall, I loved this place! The stars at night are big and bright 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 deep in the heart of Ten Bits.
My girlfriend complained of a musty smell with the sheets and towels, but it wasn’t terrible to me. I wasn’t able to get the gas log fireplace going, but luckily we had heat in the wall unit so we didn’t freeze.
We’re already planning another trip back to Ten Bits and bring the whole family to rent it all out!

This was a picture perfect weekend. I love this concept of the old west town. Our cabin exceeded my expectations. It was spotless and well stocked. The Cantina and breakfast items were greatly appreciated. We are still talking about our trip and will definitely stay at Ten Bits Ranch again.

Great Remote Location
We really enjoyed our stay at the General Store at Ten Bits Ranch. The road in is a bit intimidating and I have a Pathfinder but we made it in and out just fine but I would definitely understand why they recommend avoiding the roads if it's rained. I saw cars come in just fine as well, just take it slow and steady. We did had difficulty first entering because the keypad wasn't working but I was able to reach Sis (Verizon) and she was very responsive and had someone out as soon as possible to let us in. Other than that, the stars were spectacular during the night and the Catina provided a great continental breakfast. They also provided plenty of drinking water since the water there isn't potable and the hot water for showers works wonders! What I really enjoyed is being able to walk around a bit and see so much beauty before we made a day trip to Big Bend. Highly recommend this place. Thank you!!

Great little property well off the beaten path but with all the comforts needed. Beautiful stargazing once the sun goes down.

Unique western stay! Best stay I have ever had anywhere! Will be back!
I cannot say enough about this place. The cabins were so beautiful and unique with the decorating. The open ranch scenery was so beautiful. The road getting to the cabin is a little rough but, we managed to get safely to our cabin. The night sky and fire pit and chairs and such supplied at the property was amazing! The kitchen was even stalked with lighter fluid and lighter. Some wonderful people left behind some firewood also. This place was so peaceful and the perfect get away! We were a little skeptical because we hadn't stayed anywhere solar panels were used by multiple houses but, turned out to be pretty perfect. In room refrigerator and microwave were also supplied. Beyond thankful for the cold in room air conditioning, after a long day hiking. This place was located perfectly for travel to the Big Bend area. It was a perfect weekend. Thank you Ten Bits Ranch for making our get a way amazing and comfortable!

It was an amazing experience at Ten Bits Ranch! We stayed 3 nights, it is perfect place for family with kids. It provides us everything what we wanted. We ate bagels and toasts for breakfast, gathered around the fireplace for after dinner and saw millions of stars. The road was OK with 2WD car. Just one problem was no hair dryer. We need to save electricity and water, I understand the reason why there is no hairdryer. So I don’t recommend people who need it everyday. Otherwise we love here!

Amazing Remote stay in Terlingua
Our family rented 3 rooms at Ten Bits Ranch, and it exceeded our expectations. The Western town theme was pretty cool especially surrounded by the Big Bend scenery. We were incredibly impressed how organized and well stocked this off-the-grid property was. Hot water, internet, electricity, all worked seamlessly. We appreciated the Cantina! Super clean rooms. I highly recommend this unique experience.

Off grid living with a western theme
We were very happy to stay at this unique property. It is off the beaten track where the stars will amaze you at night. Even though the property is off grid, all amenities are available. We really enjoyed sitting around the camp fire right outside of the cantina, which by the way is well equipped for cooking to include 2 refrigerators to compliment the mini fridge you will find in your room. The queen beds were comfy. Satellite TV is available as well if you still would like to watch it when there is a spectacular star show outside (just look up). I would recommend to bring water. There are a few waters in the room and more in the cantina but when in the desert, it is always good to be prepared. It is a little hard to find when you are coming from the Terlingua direction so do find your property during the day.
The best cell service would be Verizon. AT&T did not have cell service. Satellite internet is provided but it is metered so they request not to stream any movies. The ranch is big and also has its own shooting range, which the men in our group thought was totally awesome. The location is perfect to visit Big Bend National Park as well as Big Bend State Park. Terlingua is on the same road further south of Ten Bits Ranch. The roads on the ranch are best traversed via a high-clearance vehicle like an SUV or truck. We would definitely like to stay at this western-themed setting again. Thank you for accommodating us.

XB - Thumbs Up
Our casita was clean, comfortable and well-appointed. The arrangements for remote access went without a hitch. The surroundings are striking, and the night sky is, predictably, awe-inspiring. With our rented sedan, the drive on North County Road was slow and bumpy in spots, but that was expected. The one unexpected factor was the lack of potable water on site; however, plenty of bottled water was available in both the casita and the Cantina. Overall, Ten Bits Ranch is a fitting accommodation for Big Bend.

Unique place to stay out in the middle of nowhere. Soul refreshing. Good breakfast items. Internet worked. Great scenery. Even though a designated dark sky place, we had a full moon one night and some clouds another night. It gets cold at night and when the wind blows it's really cold. (October) Plenty of water provided for use in the bathroom (non potable water there). Would definitely stay here again. Wonderful location and property ambience. Efficient with use of code for room and cantina. Great customer service! Our cabin had no hot water and the "owner" came out at 1am to fix things. Even gave us a refund for that night. Our cabin was also handicapped accessible with ramp, wide doors, grab bars in bathroom. Getting to the cantina would be a little rough for a wheelchair but close by. Otherwise no paved area for a wheel chair to use. Would have liked more hooks in bathroom for hanging clothes, towels. Lighting dim.

Great Place to Stay
This was the perfect place to stay when visiting Big Bend National Park. The views are amazing and the rooms are fun and comfortable. We knew there were other people staying in the town, but we rarely saw them. The cantina is well equipped with coffee and things to get you going in the morning. Highly recommend staying here.

Great Unique Lodging in a Great Location
This is the second time I've stayed here and love the location and the western town theme of the lodging. The setting is beautiful and the stars at night are amazing! The rooms are of course airconditioned and the mattresses are comfortable. The tap water in the rooms is not potable but bottled water is provided in the room. Although there is no cell service in this remote location, there is free wi-fi and there is a landline at the cantina if needed. The room also has a TV, mini-fridge, and free wi-fi. The self-serve continental breakfast in the Cantina was convenient. Although Ten Bits Ranch has a Terlingua address, it is actually located about 10 miles north of Terlingua off of Texas Hwy. 118. I would not hesitate staying here again.

First Time Visitors
This was our first time in the Terlingua/Big Bend area. Lodging was comfortable and they have really thought of everything when stocking not just the cabin, but the Cantina as well. We loved the ‘old West town’ feel of the cabins. Weather was too warm for a campfire and too cloudy the first night to see any stars but night 2 was clear enough to see so many beautiful stars in the sky. Would definitely stay here again on our next visit.
