It was comfortable, conveniently located. It was a beautiful and clean place to stay.

Great location-walking distance of Old Town, very spacious, well stocked kitchen, laundry room, lots of amenities (dishwasher and laundry detergent, paper towels, etc.)
You can hear people walking around upstairs.

Beautiful house. Modern interior. Well equipped. Ample parking.
Having to download and use the Vacasa app might be daunting for some.

Great location and had opportunity to walk to events on the weekend.
Front door lock didn't open and TV was not connected to anything.

This is the perfect setting for a quick get-away trip. The location is within walking distance to restaurants and coffee shops. The bedrooms, kitchen and bathroom were clean. Plenty of hot water, too. We'll be back!

Experience the charm of historic Victorian houses by actually staying in one! Tucked just around the corner from the Carson and Pinc Lady Mansions, we had the pleasure of residing on the upper floor of the "Lilac Victorian Downstairs" – though the name may raise an eyebrow. This cozy abode boasts two bedrooms with incredibly comfortable beds, accompanied by a separate front-facing living room. Adding to its appeal, there's a spacious, well-equipped modern kitchen at your disposal. The bathroom even features a vintage Clawfoot Bathtub, lending a touch of nostalgia. If only it were possible to throw open more windows and invite the invigorating sea breeze indoors – that would be the icing on the cake!
Most of the old windows can't open - it may get hot on sunny days. I left the front door open for a while to let the breeze in.

The location is really great
There were a lot of slits on the hardwood floor everywhere and couple of popped nails in the hallway, and we needed to be very careful do not get the shingles.

Waiting for the company to confirm my ID prior to getting the code was time consuming and irritating

My sister and I had the pleasure of staying at the Lilac House in Eureka, and it was absolutely stunning! The house itself is beautifully decorated and fully equipped with all the amenities needed for a relaxing stay. The location is conveniently close to downtown, and within easy walking distance of all the shops and restaurants. The bay is right outside the window so we were able to enjoy the sights and sounds of the marina and take a leisurely walk to view the wildlife and the Humboldt bay row club. lots of grassy areas within walking distance to enjoy a picnic or family gatherings. the historic and stunning Carters mansion and the Link Lady Victorian homes are also within view not to mention all the other gorgeous Victorian homes in the area. The views from the windows are breathtaking and it was especially wonderful to be able to enjoy our morning coffees looking out at it all. The description of the gorgeous home is completely understated. The unit was comfortable, warm, and very quiet. The claw foot tub and lovely shower were unexpected surprises as well. Come prepared with bubble bath and candles for a long soak! The beds were extremely comfortable as well. There are so many details that make this home so lovely. Make sure to visit nearby Arcata on Saturday morning for the most colorful and adorable farmers market. We look forward to our next visit to the area, and wouldn't look past the Lilac House for our accommodation. Five out of five stars.

The house was really outstanding. It is an old victorian property that is super well done. It was so nicely decorated and very well maintained. Beautiful place.
It had nothing to do with the house but Eureka has a very hight rate of homelessness. I went for a walk with my child, the house is in an area of old houses, and very close to a manor, but on the parking lot nearby we have seen people dealing drugs. I think that the authorities could clean it a bit better.

Location was great if one wanted to be at the downtown old Eureka location. The pictures looked so good, it looked like a new house. However, it is one of the 100 plus (guessing) year old Victorian houses in Eureka, incredibly re-finished with many of the old/existing charms, but will all modern appliances and amenities.
The internet did not work so well with respect to the TV, better on an IPAD. Water heater was a little small. The cleaning fee was quite high and there were also were somewhat hidden charges driving up the price. With the higher price considering the internet and hot water, the value was not great. Even so, it was an exceptionally, clean, beautiful, and pleasant place to stay.

Very charming, *large* apartment on the first floor of the house. Everything has been updated. Wonderful full kitchen with separate dining room and living room.
Terrific location in Old Town. Easy walk to everything in Eureka.

This beautiful Victorian is situated in an ideal location right in old downtown Eureka, within easy walking distance from lots of cute shops, cafes and restaurants and nearby waterfront with ample free parking right in front of the house. The house itself was absolutely gorgeous and clean as a whistle. Had all amenities you could need and is very spacious and homey. Lovely decoration throughout and fabulous kitchen and seating areas. Has one bedroom and a pullout sofa, one full bath and one half bath - 4 guests can stay comfortably. It's clearly an old house but has been lovingly renovated with new bathrooms and kitchen and everywhere it is needed to make it a comfortable place. Also has a new washer and dryer that came in handy from long days exploring the redwood forests. The key was easy to retrieve, as it is stored in a lockbox right at the front door, so there was no contact or waiting around to be let into the property or when departing. I could have stayed for weeks! Would love to return some day!
The house has lovely windows and lots of natural light, but this means the neighbors can see inside. There are curtains and window shades that solve that issue, but you just have to remember to have them drawn...not a deal breaker by any means.
